Ive been going to this clinic since January 2014. The next year my doctor left -- or fled -- and since then Ive been verbally assaulted by a PA (who falsified his report placing blame for the conflict on me), been subjected to inappropriate and conflicting diagnostic imaging orders, terrible bedside manner from subsequent providers, significant delays in orders being carried out, communications errors and delays with other agencies. Ive witnessed a man, gasping for breath, begging to be transported to the hospital being told by staff they had no way to transport him. I intervened, interrupted my care, and ran an ambulance service for this poor man to Mad River Hospital, possibly saving his life. He managed a weak pat of thanks, which is my most gratifying memory of Open Door Clinic in Arcata, sad to say.

Went in for a mandatory physical for my college. I got a tb test that is supposed to be read a few days later to see if I have it or not. Anyways they printed out the address to the eureka clinic so I gave them a call and they had no idea what was going on or why I was told to come to eureka. So now I have to go back and get another tb test after I wasted an hour of my time there. Also the doctor was super pushy giving me crazy scenarios that could happen if I dont get a vaccine at that exact time. Overall a horrible experience! Would not recommend.

Single most humiliating clinic I have ever been in. They complained when I showed up early for my appointment, then proceeded to treat me like a number. Tara Moss was supposed to be my PCP and provider for transgender hormone therapy. She asked questions about my health, and belittled my every answer. She spoke to me like I was 3 and answered no questions, just had a "do it my way" attitude that reminded me of a bossy kindergarten teacher. I would not want to go back to this clinic again.

For a clinic that is stretched thin, which is the fault of more than they have any control over, they do pretty good. It is hard to be seen on short notice though. But if you use their email My Chart, they actually read your questions and respond. so thats great. There is a shortage of Medi-cal providers so they are overworked. I just needed to counter act the other posts of complainers that may not get the limitations of the whole system in Humboldt County.

I had a wonderful doctor here who left in April. Every other doctor I have seen at this clinic either had zero bedside maner, was disrespectful or (more typically) both. The front desk staff were usually friendly, but I repeatedly had isssues trying to get messages to my doctor. I would not recomend this clinic to anyone dealing with mental illness, they do not know what they are doing and will not respect your integrity.

Same for me, was treated like dog doo on someones shoe. Drug tested without my knowledge, I was told it was a test for UTI. Also was prescribed a lethal dose of a med I have been taking for many years. Was asked 3 times what street drugs I use. I am in my 60s with health issues, not a scrappy street kid, I dont even smoke pot. But I believe all patients need to be treated with respect and I got none.

i have been going to the open door clinic for two months now with a severe back injury. I asked for a referral for an MR I and Dr. Weiss ordered the wrong pictures be taken. She has been very rude and uncaring the three times Ive been in. She treated me like a drug seeker and even had me submit to a urine analysis in order to fill my pain prescription that Ive been on for over a year.

I had an appointment today and waited for the doctor for over 45 minutes... Ultimately I had to leave and I will be contesting my copay for the (non) visit. Besides my doctor is incapable of making eye contact and seems quite awkward around people. Not at all the bedside manner I find reassuring or comforting. I am giving two starts cause the reception and nursing staff are lovely...

I have gone to Open Door for at least 5 years now and even though there have been a few bumps over that time, I feel very lucky to have them. The staff is over worked at times, but they still manage to show you that they care about you. Glad to have such a great group of medical professionals taking care of my familys needs.

such bad service. takes months to even get seen. bad doctors. MALPRACTICE! they told me I had to have a splint on for longer than i should have which resulted in me having to see a specialist in SAN FRAN and get physical therapy for that finger & now my finger is crooked FOR LIFE. SO BAD DO NOT GO HERE.

Even though Ive seen my doctor for over ten years the experience is always rushed and I typically dont get the service, meds, or referrals Im asking for. Even though its not optimal; with state funded insurance, and no income, Im still able to be seen at no charge.

I was desperate for help, it was 14 years ago. They helped, they saved my life literally. Dr. Hunter and staff in Eureka treat me and everyone like we matter. Humboldt County is lucky to have you!

All they did was save my life! Literally. The staff, especially Dr. Hunter in Eureka, are wonderful and fantastic. From the moment you check in throughout. Humboldt County is lucky to have them!

Probably the best administered polyclinic in Northern California. Open Door uses all the most modern efficient techniques of analysis and communication available for a reasonable price.

These people saved my life twice. First started to go in 2013, excellent staff and outstanding practitioners of the art of healing.

Always felt properly cared for. Wish they had more capacity, appointments often have to be scheduled pretty far out.

Name is a misnomer apparently because they wouldnt even try to help. Should be called the Closed Door Clinic.

Not impressive, and the doctor I was was a little pushy and rude. Not really what I look for in a doctor.
