AWEFUL SERVICE! My wife called to make an appointment for the both of us on Tuesday 11/4, the lady she spoke with said the next available appointment was Monday at 8:30am, so we took the 8:30am and 8:45am appointments for the two of us. We arrived at 8:25am on the following Monday 11/10, the blonde receptionist greeted us with a scowl and asked our names (after we already gave them) and the began looking through things as if we were putting her out, she then went on a computer and exclaimed in a nasty tone "your appointment if for next Monday, the 17th". We explained that is not what we were told, and my wife told her the conversation she had when the appointment was made, her response "I dont know what to tell you, your appointment is next week". If her attitude was at all pleasant or apologetic we would have been more understanding, but her belittling us and extremely poor customer service prompted us to cancel whatever appointment they had in the system for us. Please keep in mind if this "error" was in reverse and we missed an appointment over a misunderstanding most doctors charge a substantial missed appointment fee. I have been informed that this establish does not charge missed appointment fees which is a pleasant change from the industry norm, but I think my point of time value is understood. I see in Yelp reviews, that a reviewer from 4/3/2014 had a similar if not even worse experience with their staff, please do not support a practice like this and go to an ophthalmologists office that actually cares about you and your experience. We are new to the neighborhood so when we do find a good ophthalmologist we will be sure to post a review for them.

I have been going to Bala Eye care for a few years now, both doctors are friendly and provided good service. However, I have frequently experienced rudeness from the optical shop. I will not be coming back for any of my eye care needs since the optical shop and the doctors office are linked together. For a business that doesnt accept many insurance policies, and has high priced frames you would hope that you would get decent customer service.
