I would not recommend this optometrist’s office. Although the doctor was professional at all times, some of the office staff was rude and prices are much higher than what you might find elsewhere. The first visit seemed fine and they gave me the option to pay at my second visit when I picked up the contacts. At my second visit I received extreme attitude because I hadn’t paid on my first visit. ?????? I went here because this was the only local office on my vision plan. I honestly would have been better without the plan. I came in for a new pair of gas permeable Boston contacts. I have been wearing this type of contact lens for over 20 years. In the past each pair has cost around $60 (not including the eye exam) and lasted about two years. I would expect prices to go up with inflation but their cost was $195 for a pair (my plan only covered $95) and within 6 months one of them cracked(They had even seemed flimsy compared to any pair that I had purchased in the past but I thought maybe it was a new design.) When I called the office they said that I was out of warranty and one replacement lens would cost $75. During my initial visit I asked for a written prescription…..you have to ask…….they don’t just offer this(The only reason I even thought to ask was because the price was so high I thought that I might want to order a back up pair online) So….I decided to shop around a little. The price was $30-$36 per lens everywhere else I checked. That means I can get a pair for around the same price that one lens would cost at Optical Images. I decided to order from my local warehouse club that has trusted customer service. I became really suspicious of Optical Images when the new contacts that I ordered elsewhere were obviously thicker than the ones I had received at Optical Images. I did ask Optical Images for Boston lenses and that is what was on my receipt(So I was charged for them). I find it curious that they were a different thickness than any other pair that I’ve purchased and they only lasted six months…….at more than twice the price. I’m not a newbie at cleaning and caring for these lenses. I have washed one or two down the drain in 20 years, but I had never had one crack in half before. Buyer Beware! And if you must go there, ask for a written prescription so if you feel the need to go some where else later, you won’t have to pay for another eye exam!

Dr. Sames and all of the staff are fantastic. Very qualified, extremely friendly, very accommodating, and always very quick to call me when my glasses/contacts are in. They are always patient and flexible with my scheduling/personal needs .. and I RARELY walk out the door without them offering me some free contact fluid/eye drops. The prices for contacts (at least the kind that I have worn/purchased with my insurance) are on par with the industry standard as well. I always do my research before making such purchases, and even the large online distributors have higher prices. Furthermore, the staff are always thorough in their explanation of exactly what the price tag is, what discounts I am eligible for due to insurance/store mark-downs/mail-in rebates, and what the bottom line will be. Ive had mixed experiences with eye doctors over the years (Ive been wearing glasses/contacts for 20 years, and been to a handful of optometrists). While I cant speak for others, my experience is that Optical Images is a fantastic, clean, comfortable place with excellent staff. If you live in the area, I would highly recommend them.

The office workers are always in a hurry to get you in and out. i went to have nose tabs replaced on my frames. the nose tabs broke off and i was usuing old parts from frames i have kept thru the years. she gave me a hard time, telling me that i should be more careful. when she came out of the back room, i asked for my old nose tabs that i had in a used from a drawer at home. she said she threw them in the trash and that i could not have them back. i walked back there and pulled them out of the trash can. also, when i asked to have them adjusted, i heard her let out a deep breath as to say, i really dont care about you or your eyes or your business and you are bothering me! this office is just full of total losers, that want a quick buck. plus, their selection of eye glasses is low end. i went to Pittsburgh Optical in Great Southern in Bridgeville and got top of the line name brand frames for cheaper that the low end frames at Optical image. Go figure? you and your insurance company are getting ripped off by these Narcissistic losers!

Do yourself a favor and pay attention to these reviews. I see that one person had a good experience with this office. It must have been a rarity because my experience echos what the others said. The arrogance and rude treatment that this staff displays is unacceptable. There are plenty of eye doctors and you can find one with a staff who will treat you like a human being. I have never been so angry and insulted as I was after one encounter with these people. I will never go back and I can promise you that I am spreading the word to all my friends and family.

I have been going to Optical Images for years and have no complaints about anything. The doctor is nice and does a thorough exam. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I once had a problem with an optical company with a pair of glasses I ordered. They sent the wrong frames. It took a long time to resolve the issue and the staff at Optical Images were so helpful. Ive read the negative posts and honestly have a hard time believing them. You treat people nice and they treat you nice in return has been my philosophy in life.

The negative review almost had me not visit this optician, but its conveniently located, so I gave it a shot anyway. The negative reviews are just flat wrong. The staff is pleasant and competent, and I enjoyed my visit. Had an eye exam and bought a pair of glasses. Cost is maybe15-20% higher than some other stores, but selection is very good, the exam is quick yet thorough, and its easy to get an appointment. I will use this store again.

I agree with Cheryl !!! Youve been warned!!!! I will never go back to this place. The doctor (if he really is one) has been reported for fraud, and is one of the most rude people Ive ever met.

Ive never had a problem with the doctors or staff here...I go here simply because the location is super convenient for me. I did notice my contact prices were higher, though.
