After not seeing an optometrist for over 10 years, I decided it was finally time for a checkup. I chose Charleston Eye because of the proximity to my work and have been going back for ~3 years because of the excellent service and care they provide. My first exam revealed I needed glasses and the clarity they gave me was remarkable--it was like seeing real life in HD! Anyway, my first glasses buying experience with Charleston Eyes team was fantastic. They worked hard to make sure I got the right pair of glasses for me. Fairly recently, Dr. Smaus took over the practice from Dr. Lopanik (who is partially retired) and he is great! Dr. Smaus very knowledgable and has excellent bedside manners. His team exercised immense patience in order to find the right pair of contact for me--I think I tried about 6 different brands and fits over a 3-4 month period and they seemed eager and happy to help until we found what was most comfortable for me, having never worn contacts. I highly recommend this optometrist!

Dr Smouse and all of the staff are friendly and welcoming. I have only been for my yearly check up for the past three years, but each time I go the visit is excellent. You are never rushed around and they take the time to answer all of your questions. I would recommend Charleston Eye to any of my friends.

Dr. Smouse and the staff at Charleston Eye are great! The office location is so convenient if you work in downtown Charleston and the entire patient experience was efficient and positive. I felt that all my questions were answered and that I was receiving great eye care. I highly recommend Charleston Eye!
