This is long but vital and 100% true. I would never recommend taking your furry baby here. Let me start by saying I have waited a month to allow my self time to claim down from this horrible experience. My beagle mix who was 12yrs went here on a reference from Rossymore emergency vet (diagnosis him with pancreatitis) because we just moved to the area and did not have a regular vet yet. We went in for a 24hr follow up- all they did was meet my dog, scan in records and charged me. Ok fine but then when I went back for blood work checkup four days later and found his levels had not dropped any despite following all instructions perfectly the vet did not seem too concerned with it. (My beagle mix is long and needs to be picked up with two hands- this guy picked him up with one and when he whimpered from pain told my baby to shut up!!!!) then came back and said we could to take him home and monitor him (no additional pain meds or anything!). He said if I really wanted to I could have do an ultra sound but he didnt feel it was needed. When I asked about doing an ultra sound because something was wrong he wasnt getting better and all he was saying is watch him-the vet seemed annoyed and recommended I go Lancaster to a board certified professional. Best thing I did getting my dog out of their care. Found out my poor boy had a fast growing cancer and the new vet said he was in so much pain he wouldnt wait more than a few days before helping him be at peace. So if I had listen to the vet at valley road I would have taken my poor baby home let him be in pain and just watched as he passed horribly! While Rossymore emergency vet got the diagnosis wrong, they only found the symptom not the right real issue and I dont recommend them either. This vet should of double checked things, taking proper care of him when doing the simplest thing like picking him up (not telling him to shut up) or getting annoyed when I asked about getting him extra care the ultra sound. Instead they should have been saying this dogs condition hasnt changed in a week why? Not take him home and watch him! I am so glad I didnt listen to the vet went with my gut and got my baby the ultra sound by the professional at VRC. Oh and then tried to call and say sorry he has cancer. (No your sorry you didnt take his pain seriously after I said he has never been like this and you really messed up!

I had taken my dogs to a vet on the Carlisle Pike for years. My boxer developed pancreatitis from eating carpet (dont ask!). During the vet visit, my boxer began growling at the vet. The vet became concerned and said he needed to be covered with a blanket and muzzled for every subsequent visit. I tried to explain that perhaps my dog was in pain, but that didnt work. I understand their need to care for their staff, but my dog is not typically aggressive. For follow-up appointments, they would immediately take my boxer into the back room, pin him down and cover him with blankets while they muzzled him. It was awful! A tech from that practice left because of experiences like this. She called me at my home and said that she moved to a new practice and she remembers how friendly my dog was before his pancreatitis. She asked me to give this new practice a chance. I figured it couldnt get any worse! I must admit, I was terrified. My face-licking, derpy dog had been turned into a monster at the other practice. What if that happened again? Dr. Anzur was aware of our issues. He came into the room and just talked to us for a while and let my dogs check him out. Then he sat on the floor with them and continued to talk with us. Before long, my monster of a dog was the big baby I was accustomed to! If it wasnt for Dr. Anzur taking a chance on my dog, I dont know where I would be! They are the best!

I cant say enough good things about Dr. Anzur, Shayna & the rest of the staff at Valley Road Animal Hospital. We went there on a referral for a second opinion a few weeks ago when our little guy needed surgery & we found exactly what we were looking for. A vet that really CARES abouts his patients. From the first minute we met Dr Anzur he was wonderful with our pup & with us. He offered to do surgery on a day he doesnt normally operate to help him faster & walked us through every tough step after that. He called several times a day for the first week just to check in & get updates. He never made us feel like we were being needy & asking way too many questions even when we knew we were. His staff has also been so friendly & helpful no matter what we ask of them. We couldnt be happier with our decision to make Valley Road our new Vet & we highly recommend them to anyone. Our pets are part of our family & they treat us like family too!

Had to take both my Cats in after another Vet gave me meds they were having issues with for an upper resp infection. I called in the morning and they brought me in that evening with no problem! The Dr was great with both of my sick kitties and the assistance as well. They even helped me carry one carrier back to the room and then out to my car. Found out, the meds and dosage was very wrong for both of my cats. Way too high. Gave me new meds and helped them feel better! Very kind, joked with me to make me feel better about things and listened! What a relief! I tried calling for 36 hours to the old Vet about the issue and got no response. I dont know what I would have done without Valley Road Vets! Thank you!

Valley Road Animal Hospital is definitely the best clinic Ive been to in central PA. The staff was very friendly, especially their assistant Rachael. Additionally, Dr. Anzur kept my dog incredibly calm. My dog is getting older, and he is partially blind. Therefore, hes a bit skittish in new environment. I was very impressed with how comfortable the staff made him feel and at how calm they kept him throughout his visit. Ill definitely be returning here in the future and I definitely recommend this clinic!!!

We have loved our experience with Valley Road Animal Hospital. If youre looking for true and honest CARE for your pet than this is the best place for that. The doctors and the staff have all gone out of their way to check on us many times after our pets surgery and have been so helpful every time weve called for help during a situation we simply werent quite prepared for. I cant imagine going anywhere else for the care of my pets. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

My son referred me to Valley Road Animal Hospital. Everyone there is very personable. I have taken my Beagle and the sweet pup I rescued, and the beautiful litter of puppies my Beagle gave.birth to there. Today, I had my Beagle spayed. I wouldnt have taken her anywhere else. I have great confidence in Dr. Anzur. The staff is professional and kind and loving to the animals. I highly recommend this practice.
