Terrible experience!!!! Two days after I took my cat to see Dr Alan Schwartz, we where in the after hours local trauma center. A vet tech figured out what was wrong with my Magellan in less than ten minutes! His own vet techs probably would have figured it out also, except this men never shuts up, and they cower under his leadership. This man told me he could not get a diagnosis, because I had not been bringing Magellan in for regular veterinary visits, he then spent 20 minutes berating me for the same. His staff found a flea, he then spent the next 20 minutes teaching me about the "life cycle" of the flea. He blamed the fleas for stressing out my cat. The only thing he did right, was blood work on my cat, that I could take to another facility. He stated he could not get the bigger picture, or a good diagnosis, (beside the fact we werent in his office on a regular basis) because he didnt have enough urine to test. My cat had crystals in his bladder, and a blocked uritha! He couldnt urinate! Totally blocked! Two more days, and he wouldve died of a burst bladder, or total kidney failure! Go see this man, youll find out that he talks, more than he listens! He never stops talking!!! If you find this quality cute, this is the vet for you. Warning, if your animal is sick, it is in dire straits! Dr Alan Schwartz says everything right on his web site, (built by others), may have 35 years experience, but needs to hire two more vets, let his office staff manage his office, and go fishing, or whatever floats his boat, as long as he stays out of the office!!!! Im 58 years old, grew up on a farm, and know little bit about animal husbandry. Trust me, stay away from Cove Mountain Animal Hospital, and most of all Dr Alan Schwartz, unless of course, he hires more vets, and stays at home! If your in sales, youll figure out quick this man is all about the money involved in reoccurring service, and less about the love of animals, and compassionate care of your pet. Sorry Dr Alan Schwartz, your staff is wonderful, and could do a better job, if you stayed at home! WARNING, WARNING, stay away from this man if your pet needs anything other than a regular vaccination. If I could give no stars, thats what this practice would receive.

I was a client of Cove Mountain animal hospital when they were Clarks Ferry Veterinarian Hospital. I had little knowledge of pet ownership, and was very happy in welcoming the advice Alan and Nora had offered to me. They were very understanding, and helpful. When they left their old establishment, I used other Veterinarians. So far, none have ever come close to the service I get now that I have found them again. They are very passionate about animal care, and only want the best for each and every animal out there. Thank you very much for being the best Veterinarian. I could not have taken care of all of the strays that I have taken in if it wasnt for your great Veterinarian and personable skills. It is a family run business, and everyone in the family is always courteous and respectful to whatever problem you come in with. Thank you for your superior care, I will never go anywhere else again.

Their service is okay, but the staff is extremely condescending. Condescending to the point of more or less telling you that you dont know anything about animals and dont deserve to own a pet. In fact, it is because of the staff that I am in the process of changing to a vet who is about twice the distance from my house. They make appointments for you that you dont really need and charge an absurd fee if you want to purchase things like heartgard from an exceptionally cheaper source. They will also make sure to explain to you that you do not know enough about your pet to be administering medicine.

They have HORRIBLE service at the front desk. The grey haired lady they have working at the front is super rude, and can barely even speak English. Not only that, they are crooks who overcharge for their services. I will NEVER take my dog here again.
