i brought my cat, lucy, to animal hospital of rye for surgery. she had a lesion on her lower lip that needed to be removed. i was very fearful as lucy had an ambulation problem since being a kitten. she was never diagnosed with any specific neuro. problem but she definitely had issues. i was fearful of lucy going under anesthesia. i was also very fearful of lucy being disfigured or worse yet, not being able to eat or drink without difficulty. when i left lucy there, i did feel that she was in good, caring hands. dr. whalen called me by 12:15 that day to say that lucy came thru surgery very well. no problems. i was very relieved. when i picked lucy up later that day, lucy was groggy but looked great. as she recovered, her incision looks amazing. she is eating and drinking normally. the incision is healing and dried. looks great. the care lucy recieved was excellent. the office staff called me at home to make sure lucy was doing ok. very greatful for the care and concern of everyone. stephanie.

I HAVE HAD SEVERAL VETS AND NEVER HAD ANY AS CARING, COMPASSIONATE AND CONCERNED FOR MY PETS HEALTH AS DR WHALEN. SHE IS THE GREATEST. ALL THE SUPPORT STAFF ARE JUST AS CARING AND THEY ARE EXCELLENT AT THEIR JOBS. THE ATMOSPHERE IS ONE OF CARING AND CONCERN. IT IS A VERY CLEAN ENVIRONMENT AND THEY HAVE SEPARATE WAITING AREAS FOR DOGS AND CATS. THIS HELPS KEEP DOWN YOUR ANIMAL(S) STRESS. MY DOG IS VERY RELUCTANT, TO SAY THE LEAST, OF THE VET, AS SHE KNOWS WHAT IS COMING. DR WHALEN SITS ON THE FLOOR AND TALKS TO HER AND WITHIN A COUPLE MINUTES SHE WARMS UP TO HER. AFTER THE SHOTS AND HEALTH EXAM, DR WHALEN GIVES HER A TREAT, WHICH ENDS THE VISIT ON A POSITIVE NOTE. THANKS DR. WHALEN, WE LOVE YOU!

Overall I say this is for sure one of the best Vets in the area. They are very kind here and allow my cat Bloo to hangout without a crate which he doesnt leave my side granted but Ive been given a very negative response from other vets for this. Bloo had a FHA or FHO cant remember which, but months later he is doing wonderful and cannot complain. As far as price I would say his surgery was well priced. This will always be Bloos go to Vet for me. Ps they will give your cat a treat if you ask the front desk.

Thanks to The Animal Hospital of Rye and Dr. Brian Harpster for their generous support in caring for Friday, a little panther kitten, fostered by Loving Care Animal Rescue. Dr. Harpster is absolutely one of the most skilled and thorough veterinarians in the area. I personally have been taking my many cats to Dr. Harpster for over 30 years for the excellent and experienced care he provides. This is truly a 5 star veterinary practice!

Best vet in the area. My dog was really sick. I took her to several vets-- that kept taking blood work and doing nothing for her. Dr Kirmayer was wonderful in diagnosing and caring for her. By the time I took her to Dr Kirmayer, my dog Maggie had four tumors that were missed by the other vets. During her last months of life, Dr Kirmayer took excellent care of her. I would not go to anywhere else!

Dr. Kirmayer and his staff truly care about the fur babies and their families. Their prices are high, but the care skill and experience make it worth the cost. They are professional, knowledgeable and courteous.

Dr. Whalen is caring and capable, taking care to listen to the history as well as the current ailments of your pet. The hospital is clean and quiet and its staff is genuine.

Dr Kirmeyer is very competent but lacking in "bedside" manner", plus they are overpriced. Could say lots more but wont. Ive heard Dr Whalen is compassionate and good.
