VCA Colonial Heights is our preferred vet when in town; this is our second return to the area over a 10-15 year period, with an absolute ZOO of cats and dogs over that time. (I believe weve brought no less than ten different animals to them over time.) VCA has higher prices on some things, but considering the level of care/quality care the doctors give our pets, we willingly pay the charges within reason -- you get what you pay for, and we believe VCA Colonial Heights charges for the quality given. Im not always happy with the supporting staffs efficiencies, but the team works together to make it all happen, and happen on a timely basis. We hardly ever have to wait unreasonable time periods for service or feedback, and the clinic provides honest followup (not just a call to us to say theyve done it.) Ive received calls on the problem care of our pets as late as 10pm, because the doctor is still working on our pets problem until she gets an answer, and can reach us to share that answer as well as her advice. I find the doctors give sound advice, and are more interested in the health and well being of the animals, as well as feedback from owners, rather than how much money they can extort from worried pet owners. You get what you pay for here.

I would like to thank VCA animal care for the wonderful service I received from them. I booked my dog Ginger for Doggy day care last minute,due to my daughters military graduation.Robin easily expidited Ginger paper work for the day of our arrival ..Robin and the rest of the staff at VCA,were very professional,courteous and best of all Ginger had a great time at day care. I was pleasantly surprised that VCA center was very clean and smelled of fresh scented candles.I wish that there was VCA near my home town. Thanks again

I brought a stray kitten to their office. I offered to pay for any service that was needed to get the kitten back to health. The staff was friendly, the doctor kept me up to date on a daily basis of what was being done to the kitten, and I dont think the prices were too out of line. Of course I ended up spending a few hundred dollars on a cat that wasnt mine...but she is mine now and I am greatful that this office made the difference of her living or dying.

Dr Brown is absolutely incredible! She was caring and professional during one of my cats last illness and ultimate death. She even stayed several hours after closing to ensure he was comfortable and had every possible opportunity for recovery. She is still caring for my other cat (16 years old) and continues to give that valued member of our family the very best care. I cant say enough good about this wonderful veteranarian...Dr Brown is the best!

Have been going there for years. Have had good interactions with the vets there but VERY underwhelmed with other members of the staff. And prices are so high as to be ridiculous for FAR LESS service. There also always seem to be 5+ people chatting behind the front desk with an empty waiting room? (Perhaps thats part of the price problem?) My recent visit to this location was the last my dogs will see of Animal Care.

Avoid this "chain" Vet clinic at all costs. Although the Vets seem to care about your pet(s) and are competent, the overall service and staff competencies are horrible. Their facilities are not connected as advertised. Their Care Club does not transfer from facility to facility as advertised. Twice in six months medications have been mislabeled. Bottom line is find a local Vet and avoid the big chain.

Prices are inconsistent and I swear they just make them up. Somehow this doesnt gain a lot of trust with me. Prices are WAY too high for this area. Also we never see the same Vet for the same pet, I guess they pick them at random?

Friendly service, have worked really well around my last minute erratic scheduling to accommodate my pet. Products are pricey, but also good quality; I trust their recommendations, though I cant always afford to follow them 100%!
