I made the mistake of not going to the dentist for ALONG time and needed some work done. I needed a deep cleaning and I needed a Veneer/Crown done on my front teeth because I had prior dental work done when I was a child that was failing. I Made an appointment and I was seen within a day or so. I was told my treatment options on what needed to be done. The deep cleaning was not a painful process and the hygienist was very friendly, accommodating and explained everything well. I made a separate appointment to get my Crown and Veneer done on my front teeth. Dr Mariani did a great job from A to Z...He took his time with me to ensure that I was 100% happy with my results as well as comfortable during the procedures. I am EXTREMELY happy with the end results!! I was worried that the veneer and crown would not match in color, however the color match is dead on perfect in every different lighting conditions. The teeth look natural and you cannot tell work was ever done. I highly recommend Dr. Mariani. The only "complaint" which is not even really a complaint was the first dental assistant I had. I believe she was a temporary fill in because she was only there the initial first visit (I hope). She was older women who was not exactly friendly, nor did she explain anything to me. She said sign paperwork and she would explain everything to me which she never did which had me alittle confused which got cleared up by Rita the office manager. She also stuck her fingers in my mouth with no gloves on which I thought was a little weird and kind of gross...And she also got lazy while holding the suction tube and created a vacuum on my lower gum which turned into a blister. I give a 5 Star rating because the people who matter that work there were excellent to deal with. The Doctor/Hygienist/Office Manager. Thanks again and I will be back for my routine checkups!

This office has an amazing staff. From when you walk in and Rita greeting you, to Ashley who is an amazing, caring and thorough hygentist, to Marlene the assistant (if she doesnt talk a lot she is just trying to keep everyone on schedule but is very friendly) to Dr. Mariani who is an AMAZING, AMAZING, dentist. He does not try to sell you anything. If he is suggesting something it is because he truly believes it. When I went a few years ago and they had a "sales" person yes I felt that way, however, I know now what that "sales" person told me was true its sometimes just how someone may come off to another. Dr. Mariani did not try to "sell" me a gold crown but long story short the gold crown is just what I needed for a back tooth. He made two temporaries for me and they were PERFECT. The matched my teeth better than any crown in my mouth and he did it right in the office! This Dr. has skill! If you liked Dr. Runkle that was there (he is now the Director of all the offices because he is so awesome) you will love Dr. Mariani. Great personality and truly wants what is best for you because his reputation is on the line. Dont be fooled by the fact that it is a "chain" sometimes these are the nicer ones because they do have someone higher to answer to not like an individual office. And you are in charge of you so make sure you get what you want!

Heres the problem: On Monday I was prescribed a Z Pack for a badly infected tooth. I was starting to improve but I had only one pill remaining and I still had plenty of swelling and some pain. I called to ask for a refill on the prescription. I was told that the Dr. is now on vacation until next Tuesday and there is no doctor in their vast network that can review my files and call in a refill! I have never had this happen to me in all my long years on this earth. I must be seen by another dentist in another town if I want a refill. My two star rating goes toward their organization and patient accommodation ability. I must also add that their deep level phone system is a drag. One goes from menu to menu to menu. Its endless. Even when you get to the office of your choice you are connected with a central answering person! Really unbelievable. In all fairness, the actual dentist, who is now on vacation, seemed quite competent and was gentle and well-spoken. This is a huge bare bones operation which probably employs some great people. Will I stick around long enough to find out?

The actual practitioners are nice but dont expect them to warn you before doing some optional service thats not covered by most insurance! Payment options were poorly explained. After paying out of pocket for a cleaning (plus some extras that they didnt tell me will cost extra) I told them that I was getting insurance in a month. They suggested that I get the other services done before getting the insurance anyway... Very clearly care more about profits than your dental care. Promised discounts were not taken automatically. I had to jump through hoops to fight for every cent and contact them multiple times about reimbursements and got a bad attitude about it. In the end, there are lots of very nice offices in the area that provide excellent care without being a scam.

Dr. runkle and his staff deserve five stars. I came in with a toothache and left with healty mouth. After years of neglect american dental was able to get my mouth back to health. I needed a root canal on one of my front teeth eleviate the pain. I now have a crown that on an x-ray can tell apart from my real teeth. I also needed to have my wisdom teeth removed wich was done by an oral surgeon that Dr.runkle recommended. The whole expieriance from beginning to end has been enjoyable and i can now say I will continue to look foward to dealing with american dental,Dr. runkle and all of his staff. THANK YOU SCOTT S.

Gilbertsville American Dental the staff were awesome very professional the dentist is a very wonderful gentleman does his job very well my personal opinion of American Dental call center and Pottstown office has a lot to be desired I will never go through their call center again Ill go right to the office Gilbertsville location and talk to the wonderful ladies there because if you go through their call center all you will do is get ran around they dont know what theyre doing and Pottstown has a lot to be desired

I feel they want to do more work then whats needed, I went to a dentist that wanted to do the same work these people want to do and went to another (my last dentist sadly moved away from the area) and he said that the work might need to be done 10 -20 years down the road but not at this time. They are nice people but I dont think they realize people dont have 2,000 dollar just laying around for work that can be held off since I was informed that many times. They didnt even put a medication filling in it.

I started going to American Dental in Gilbertsville when we moved to the area in 2009. I have been through several dentists and they have all been great. Dr. Mariani is the best. He and Marlene work together like a well-oiled machine. Rita and Ashley are tops. The warmth and friendliness shown by everyone in the office is appreciated greatly. I truly dont mind going to the dentist anymore.
