Like getting your medical care at WalMart. Dozens of residents (not actual doctors) see thousands of patients. Nobody knows who you are or anything about you, or particularly cares. if you call with a problem or question (you know, how they always say call your doctor if...) *at best* somebody might - but most likely not- call you in a few days when you are at work and leave an uninformative voice message. There is no way to reach your doctor directly, you have to go through some call center (grrr) to reach anything altogether- but your doctor, you simply cannot reach. Any appointment you need can only be scheduled weeks into the future. Because you do not get an actual doctor, just a resident, every visit is prolonged by up to an hour on top of the regular wait because the preceptor needs to peak his/her head in to approve. Once, I needed some documents from the reception desk, and this lady told me to wait.... I waited and waited and waited - so apparently, she left for lunch, without actually taking care of me or even telling anybody else about me. The only advantage is it is part of Hershey Medical so if you need some sophisticated surgery you will get it (but NOT the after care; I had a surgery there, and after a few days [and them not prescribing antibiotics just in case as I asked for] my incision started to get infected. I called the office... and got a voice message in 3 days! Luckily, I had an unrelated appointment with another doctor and he changed the dressing and gave me the medication; if not for that luck, I have no clue what would have happened).

I became a patient of Dr.Beth Wallen, one of the many good docs at Fishburn Med.Cen/Hershey Med.Cen. 16 months ago when we moved here. Beth is an Interal MD, and I have found her to be saintlike in her patience, an outstanding listener/"hearer", a genuinely concerned Doc, and an overall kind, loving person. Until Dec31 ,2016,F.Burn ran a Walk In after hrs. They chose to close that to open up more unorthodox hours for their own patients. I have ONCE been in the outter office more than 3 minutes, and once nurse "checked in" ,never more than 10 (often under 5) in the actual office. Dr.WALLEN does not pretend to know ALL MATTERS MEDICAL,but will hunt down answers and specialists to the 4 corners of the earth for her patients.I have heard similar about the other practioners there! She respects my ferocious "digging in of my heels" re: back fusion and works TIRELESSLY with me for other options. I have spoken with other patients of F.Burn and hear the same about waits, and diligent docs! Remember, new patients, this is 1 of the places brand new docs come TO BECOME well -"bedside"- mannered docs, and you may be assigned one of them with a more experienced Dr. watching over them. If that sounds like "NOPE" to you, SAY SO. IT is harder to get into the experienced docs. The facility is religious about privacy and cleanliness. The support staff is often endearing &sweet.Occasionally, someone is "in a mood". Arent we all? Do not hesitate to use Fishburn Medical. I recommend them often.

This place is ridiculous with poor customer care and service. Showed up to be seen at 5:30 for the after hours clinic (hours 5-9) with our daughter who had a temp of 103.4 and a sore throat. Was hoping to get a quick strept test to rule out strept throat. When we arrived a half hour after they opened we were turned away and told us they have met their quota for the day, arent seeing anymore patients and referred to the ER(the waiting room had like 6 people waiting ) I thought the point of an after hours clinic was to be able to be seen when your Drs office is closed and leave the Emergency rooms open for actual emergencies. The front desk staff were short and rude as if we were a bother. Went somewhere else and recived professional care by a facility that knows what customer service and patient care is about. Sounds like that place is unorganized and has a hard time keeping staff and Drs. Maybe its a good thing we were turned away. I think they forget we are the reason they have jobs and their is no excuse for acting unprofessional or rude just because you may not enjoy your job. Goodbye Penn State Hershey Fishburn Road we will go where were not turned away, treated with respect and professional care.

If I could leave zero stars I would! I went there today, early Sunday afternoon to be seen because I am very sick/not feeling well at all. Their website says they close at 8 pm on the front page and then says 6 pm once you are one level into the webpage. I walk in at 3 pm. No one is in the waiting room. The last person got called into the back to see the doctor. An assistant just put out a bunch of signs saying they are at capacity and they cannot help you. There were 3 cars in the parking lot and no one in the waiting room. Receptionist says they are over capacity and cannot see any more patients. I said you have 3 more hours until you close. She said sorry but they are closing early. I informed her that I was really sick and needed to be seen. I asked if any special circumstances could be done for me since I am a veteran on active duty. She replied "absolutely not". WTF?! TRICARE should remove funding from Hershey! I took a picture of their sign and informed them their own website said they were open until 8 pm and 6pm. That gave them 3-5 hours to see me. Horrible service and management.

Recently went for a visit for a shoulder injury and was prescribed physical therapy. Called to set up the PT appointment and was told the earliest appointment would be a month. Called PSU Fishburn back to see if the doctor could help make a more immediate appointment for me. They called back a week later, which is absolute bs. Then they tell me there is nothing they can do for my injured shoulder, the doctor recommended I do some stretching at home, also bs. No wonder we are lacking so far behind other countries in healthcare provisions. I can only imagine getting better care from a doctor in cuba. If you go there, which i recommend you dont, avoid Dr. Jafalin at all costs or as she prescribed I should self-manage my own healthcare. No wonder our healthcare sucks!!!!!!

This place is very hit and miss. Since I was a child I saw Dr. Wallen she was great until I became an adult and I realized she was quick to push some hard meds. Then I saw Dr. Waheed, wow he was horrible. He was nervous, anti social, and didnt care what you had to say just wants you rush you out Ill never see him again. Then the best for last I saw Dr.Demetrio, he was actually super knowledgeable and had personality and was very interested in his patients. I also saw CRNP Emily Auckett who was fantastic as well but she is no longer here.

The good doctors always leave :( they never return phone calls they let medications go without being refilled when thats not suppose to happen. Some medications cannot be stopped abruptly. It seems as if they really dont care about their patients if they arent living through it it doesnt matter. If you beg for help and sincerely need it you should get it. You pretty much get forced to go to the emergency room just to get someone to actually listen. Some times people just need some to listen to them.....
