BEST Veterinary hospital in the area. I couldnt have asked for a better experience with my guinea pig Mops who had two abscesses that needed to be surgically removed. The large one on his back was clearly infected and needed treatment ASAP. I went to two vets prior to Stoney Creek and had horrible experiences at both of them. I even left one of them crying the entire way home as I led to believe that Mops had cancer and removal of just one abscess would cost $1000. As a single woman, working as a social worker for a non-profit, money is not something that I have a ton of. I knew that I wouldnt be able to come up with that kind of money. I was left feeling anxious and discouraged and feared the worst until I contacted Stoney Creek and spoke to Katie-Beth . She told me that Dr Tallant treated exotic animals and scheduled an appt. for me right away. Katie-Beth was my first contact at Stoney Creek and she REALLY helped calmed my nerves and gave me hope that Mops was going to be OK. The customer service at Stoney Creek is A+++ quality. EVERYONE that I encountered made me and Mops feel comfortable. Alison was the first vet technician that I met with and she was wonderful as well. It takes a certain person to work in that job and she fits the bill to a T. She is awesome at what she does. She is friendly and great with animals, I experienced it firsthand. My first appt. with Dr. Tallant went better than expected and I didnt leave crying this time. Dr. Tallant really took the time to discuss Mops condition with me and options on surgery. After two prior negative experiences at other vets, it was refreshing to meet with someone who clearly has experience and knowledge as well as compassion for clients and their pets. She was honest and upfront and said that she thought both abscesses should be removed. I also received an estimate right away--removal of BOTH abscesses was going to cost LESS THAN HALF of the $1000 price for one abscess removal quoted from the first vet. She discussed everything in detail with me and made sure that she left no questions unanswered. Dr. Tallant is a wonderful person and it is clear that she loves what she does. I was a nervous wreck during the actual surgery but I knew that Mops was in the best of hands. I think everyone could tell I was anxious and nervous and one vet tech (i wish I could remember her name) even sent me a picture of Mops right after his surgery. He was already awake and eating and that picture made me feel so much better. After a successful surgery Dr. Tallant even called several times after-hours to check on Mops. I knew that if I needed to speak with her, she was only a phone call away. Dr. Tallant went above and beyond in my opinion! EVERYONE I encountered did. Mops is doing GREAT and I couldnt be happier. I will never take my pets anywhere else. Stoney Creek will have my business for life and I will recommend them to everyone that I know :) Thanks for all that you do.

I have been with Stoney Creek for over 15 years starting with my 2 toy Yorkies, Cody and Gizmo, when it was just Dr. Latterner. Over the years, Dr. Latterner became family. I think I saw him more than my primary care doctor. He took good care of both of my Yorkies and helped me when Cody suddenly passed away. Seven years ago, I rescued my first white german shepherd, Shania and she is my love.. two years later, I rescued my second white shepherd Katie Eileen calls her crazy Katie but she is sweet and lovable.. and now Stoney Creek takes care of Gizmo 12, Shania 7, and Katie 5. We still see Dr. Latterner when he is available but we have come to love Dr. Slattery.. She is sweet and loving and very thorough and she doesnt stop until she gets to the bottom of a problem.. She also knows how expensive treatments can be when you have multiple dogs and she really works with you so that treatment is there and affordable..My girls and Gizmo and I love her..2 years ago she diagnosed Gizmo with an issue that he had most of his life and nearly killed him slowly.. he was down to 2.4 lbs and through Dr. Slatterys help and determination she found out what is was and over 6 months he slowly got better and was the healthiest he had ever been.. he is old now but still hanging in there because of Dr. Slattery..One of my favorite people at Stoney Creek is Eileen , the groomer. My girls love her and so does little Gizmo. She has been with my crew from the beginning keeping them clean and beautiful.. we love you Eileen!! Teresa Flemming and Lisa Blair make our visits pleasant and enjoyable even under difficult situations.. I have referred all of my family to Stoney Creek..my sister Judy Di Ienno and her Mia, my daughter Samantha and her Rylee and my son Jason and his Bianca.. we are all part of the Stoney Creek Family and our fur-pets are happy and healthy!!

It was difficult for me to find a small pet veterinarian that I could trust, but I absolutely love Stony Creek. They have been nothing but compassionate and caring, and hold themselves highly accountable. My first interaction with them was when I had my beloved rat Pot Roast put down. Putting a pet to rest is a very difficult thing, and Stony Creek really helped me get through the process. Pot Roast had been suffering from a tumor on her shoulder for a while, and I wanted her to be at peace. I didnt realize how bad she was -- even in the waiting room she had been munching on a banana and scurrying across my shoulders -- but they could tell right away that she was on her way out. They gave me ample time to say goodbye, and apparently she passed before they could administer the anesthesia. They did not charge me anything because they had not used any anesthesia on her; I thought that was a real sign of integrity, because I would never have known otherwise. They even gave me a carrying case so I could bring her back home and bury her under her favorite tree in dignity -- and they even provide a back door through which you can exit if you are too distraught and dont want to go through a crowded waiting room. They also gave me great advice on various maladies with my other rats. Im not from around here, so its really reassuring to know that there are such good people close by when I need them for my small pets.

I have been taking my cats here for 6 years and I dont see myself going back to this veterinarian again. In the past couple years every time I have called to make an appointment for my cat to be seen I have been told that theyre just way too busy. However if I pay more they can schedule me an emergency visit where I sit in the waiting room and I wait to be seen in between appointments. This was my primary vet. Why is it that my primary vet, who I have spent thousands of dollars with, can never see me in a reasonable amount of time? Additionally when my cat is in need of an ultrasound there never seems to be a doctor on staff to administer. The cost of the ultrasound at Stoney Creek was $208 plus some additional fee. I found a facility where the ultrasound cost $85 and they were able to guarantee me an appointment within a couple of hours AND had a technician on staff who could read the ultrasound. I think Dr. Tallant is a very caring professional and I completely trust her but thats not enough to make me go back to Stoney Creek. I have found other very caring professionals at a facility that treat me much better even as a first-time customer even though they are farther away.
