I dont write reviews, but the vets at Delaware Valley Veterinary Hospital saved one of my dog’s lives. The least I can do is write a good review for such an amazing vet practice. We have two basset hounds that we love dearly, the first one we bought as a puppy, and then a few months later we adopted the other. Right from the very beginning, we loved how Dr. Wells treated our puppy. She was very knowledgeable, sweet, and I could tell she genuinely loved her job. Dr. Wells is the vet that we have seen for all of our appointments including surgery to spay our dogs. We love her. However, we also owe everything to Dr. Morrissey for saving one of our basset’s lives after a serious accident. We have a doggy door for our dogs to go in and out of the house as they please. One day when we got home from work, one of our dogs was howling from in our pool, under the pool cover. It was December and freezing. She had gone on the pool cover and it ripped causing her to fall through (by the way, if you are reading this and have a pool, do not ever trust anything on a pool safety cover, EVER! They CAN fail). We have no idea how long she was in there since we weren’t home. Her belly was totally bloated with water and air. She was just floating there in the freezing water. We immediately brought her to Delaware Valley where Dr. Morrissey took her in. We were told that she probably wouldn’t make it. Her temperature was so low that it was unreadable. It was devastating. Well, I am happy to say that she made a full recovery thanks to Dr. Morrissey. The whole situation was very traumatizing, and I have still not fully recovered even though it happened a year and a half ago. But, we owe every day that we spend with our dog to Dr. Morrissey, every lick, every walk in the park, every wag of a tail. Lastly, we think that Delaware Valley has fair pricing for a vet’s office. Of course, no vet is cheap. But, Delaware Valley doesn’t over-charge like some other places. Their charges are reasonable. For my dog that almost died, and was watched over 24/7 and stayed overnight and all the next day, it was a 500 bill. During that time, I had cried enough over the whole situation. It was nice not to have to cry over the bill too.

Me and my family have been taking our beloved pet Hannibal to Dr. Morrissey for the past 9 yrs. Throughout those yrs we have noticed this small caring vet turn into a greedy company at the expense of your loved one. Example being Hannibal at 9 had a leg tumor after tests were done the vet wanted to cut it open and remove it which we agreed with, however once on the operating table she couldnt remove any except enough for testing. We were still charged top dollar for the procedure. We were notified only after surgery that Hannibals kidney levels were dangerously high prior to surgery and was put on extra fluids. After surgery he had a hacking cough and now couldnt even walk on his leg because it was too painful. He then presented with blood in his stool and urine and stopped eating and drinking. When taken back to the vet we were told he had advancing kindney failure which was due to the surgery. We were never warned about the consequences of doing the surgery prior to; for the procedure was not an emergency. We were fed pill after pill and went to multiple appointments with the vet that spent up to 3 mins with our dog and charged full price for the visit and were constantly offered more and more tests. She also wanted to remove his leg even though he was already missing an eye and the first surgery nearly killed him. We adventully transfered his records to another vet and that doctor helped Hannibal live a few extra weeks comfortably before passing away. It just really hurts to know because of greed Hannibal was taken from us too soon.

When we met Del Val several years ago and had to put our Tiki down ( she was 15 and was struggling) we did not go to the Vet we had used for many years we felt and still do that it was time for a change. My son and daughter used Del Val and told us to go there and we went. Dr. Julie and the staff were kind, compassionate not only to us but to our beloved Tiki. Like we all knew a Band Aid would not help. We then began to take our Bruno to them he needed a surgery which we had done and that gave him 2 more years. Bruno was over 13 when we started to take him and passed at 16.. Again and sadly to say he to went to sleep in a compassionate way with in seconds this winter was really bad and we did not what to see him suffer. Now we will be taking our Bella who has been there with my daughter who we have had for the last 2 years. She is still a baby and with good care and doing what they suggest we will be looking forward to many good years with her. Also will be getting another puppy this fall. You could not ask for a more caring group of Doctors and Office staff. So when people ask who I go to I proudly say Delaware Valley Veterinary Hospital .

Let me first say that this is only the second or third review Ive ever done in my life. I rarely have an extraordinary enough or awful enough experience to bother taking the time to actually write a review. However, with Del Val vet, Ive had several terrible experiences so I feel compelled to share. As much as we love our pets, you would expect a veterinary hospital to make you feel comfortable and okay about leaving your pets with their employees. Amazingly, you get the exact opposite feeling. Its as if you are bothering them with your pets. They are so short and so snappy with you as humans, it makes you wonder how terribly they must treat your beloved pets. I will NEVER return to this place and I will be sure to alert every pet owner I know about the scum of the earth employees who work here. I cant comment on the doctors but I would hope they treat people and animals better than their staff. So Del Val, its time to clean house or you will be out of business before you know it. I am glad to see dozens of other folks leaving similar reviews. Clearly, its not just me. If you love your animals, avoid this place like the plague.

I had brought my 10 1/2 year old diabetic dog to Dr Milden on a referral from a friend. She had been sick and was admitted to another vet hospital where they had diagnosed her with cushings disease in March 2015. I knew that diabetes and cushings disease were going to be hard to manage but Dr. Milden spent a lot of time explaining how I would be able to manage both diseases with the proper medication and he would be keeping track of her progress. He was very patient with me and all of my questions and was very positive about my dogs future health. My dog was not feeling well on a Sunday morning a few weeks later and I brought her in to the office to see Dr. Wells. She was also great! Very patient with us. Having Sunday hours is a huge plus for a vet office and the staff has been very friendly as well. It takes me about 30 minutes to get to this office but it is well worth the drive. My dog has been managing her diabetes and crushings disease well and Dr Milden is closely following her progress.. I would highly recommend this office. Everyone who works there truly seems to care about the wellness of their clients.
