First off my husband and I have 4 dogs. 2 of the four are usually frightened by drs ( one being a chihuahua and just not liking strangers period, and the other having a bad experience with a vet as a puppy ). The fact that our first time bringing our chihuahua to Dr. marikay, my chihuahua gave her kisses.. That was enough for us to have a good feeling about her, dogs know good people when they see them! We aee a Marine family and we were in the area for 3 years, and in those 3 years Dr. marikay and her staff felt like family. The staff was always so welcoming, and always had to give my babies some love while we were waiting in the waiting room. Im always early to my appointments, so almost always they got me in before my appointment was even supposed to start! We also have an English bulldog who has had some medical issues. He had two surgeries while he was in Dr. Marikays care, and its because she was the only one we trusted our babies with! We knew they were always in good hands when they were with her! Because of the Marines our time was up in Beaufort and we were being sent across the country to CA. Our bulldog doesnt travel well, and when our first day went terrible and we were forced to stop early because of his health I quickly texted Port Royal Vets emergency number on Majors condition and Dr. marikay quickly responded, even though she knew that we were no longer able to be her clients. Dr. Marikay and her staff genuinely care about every one of their patients! Ive heard people say they are over priced, but I honestly believe they are worth every penny! I havent been to another vet where the receptionists and Staff walking through the waiting room will take a few seconds out of their time to love on the patients and tell them how cute they are in a baby voice! These people are truely passionate about their jobs, and it shows! The care they give to your babies is incredible! And the fact that Dr. Marikay was willing to help me out while we were on the road, and wanted to know how he was doing after he had a heat stroke in CA, that is just how passionate she is about her job! She developed a bond with her patients and wants the best for them even after they arent her patients anymore! Go to Port Royal veterinary hospital, you wont be sorry! Youll get great care and may even develop a friendship! Dr marikay gave me a hug when I came in for the last time, and I had to fight back tears leaving! We really do love Dr. marikay and her staff!

Port Royal Veterinary Hospital is THE BEST! We have always search the best care for our pets and when we moved to this area 2.5 years ago, we went through two other practices before we found the perfect fit for us - PRVH! Dr. Marikay is a truly caring, patient veterinarian and person. We could tell right away that truly cares about the patients she sees and their families as well. She has gone above and beyond for us, especially with our 14yr old cocker spaniel. He has multiple issues and over a year ago when he first was seen by Dr. Marikay, we werent sure if he would make it very long. She included us in his treatment and research into his problems, made herself available to us (and still does) for questions and concerns. Our dog is still going strong today and we thank Marikay for that! More recently our cats have visited PRVH and they have received the same attention and care that we have come to expect. There are several techs that we see most times we are at PRVH. Bob and Morgen are the first that come to mind as they have seen us so often :) All of the techs and office staff work so hard and are just as caring as the veterinarians. We have gotten to know so many of the staff and appreciate the part that every one of them play. We also have our grooming done at PRVH. Sheila is such a caring, loving groomer! Our dog is blind and mostly deaf and she goes out of her way to be sure he is comfortable. He used to be anxious about grooming but he smells Sheilas hand when she approaches him and his little butt just wiggles. We thank PRVH for being such a great family! You are truly THE BEST in our book!

Dr. Mary Kay and everyone at Port Royal Veterinary Hospital truly care about animals. The practice is not only for dogs and cats but also for "exotics." Dr. Mary Kay is also licensed to work with wildlife. I used another veterinary practice for almost forty years. I first went to Dr. Mary Kay with a sick rabbit that no one else in town would treat. Then, the practice that I had used for years was taken over by a corporation and service deteriorated badly. It was an easy switch to bring my four cats and two dogs to Port Royal. I have always been able to get an appointment in a short time and it is important to me that patients of record at Port Royal Vet can get emergency care outside of regular hours. This is NOT the case elsewhere in town. I think that it is very unprofessional that there are many vets in this town who do not take calls after hours to deal with emergencies for animals they already have as patients. Owners of acutely ill or injured pets are instructed by an answering machine to transport the animal to an emergency vet in Savannah or Charleston. Before you choose a vet be sure to ask about the practices policy on after hours emergencies. Dr. Mary Kay us very community-minded. She does a tremendous amount of pro bono work in the area. She and her staff have even done volunteer work in Central America. If you are looking for a practice where the well-being of animals is the first consideration Port Royal Veterinary is the one for you and your companion animals.

Where do I begin?...I am proud member of the Port Royal Veterinary Hospital Staff. When they offered me employment, as I was completing my internship there, I was so extactic! I went home later that day and cried because I felt so blessed that such an amazing unique staff would want me as their own. But Most of all I felt so honored to have the opportunity to work hand and hand with one of the most devoted, engaged, compassionate veterinarians Ive grown to know Dr. Marikay Cambell is her name, and she is one of Heavens Earth bound Angels. She treats every animal, reptile, critter as if it were her own, she never spends a moment of her life without thinking of her staff, clients, or patients. Im pretty sure even when shes sleeping shes dreaming of us all! :) Dr. Marikay is unique to me because she made her career her life and that is a precious value that is hard to find. Take it from me as someone who has experienced everything behind the scenes of the hospitals curtains. Dr. Marikay is not only running a full time Veterinary practice, she is also running a family (staff). We staff at PRVH are a family and we all share the same energy that Dr. Marikay radiates to us, so I promise you when. You walk into our home (the hospital) you will be receiving the best care for you and your pet possible. So come on in! Wed love to have you and your family member (pet). "Critter Lovers Unite"! Sincerely your proud Vet Tech at PRVH, Winny
