I just moved to the area from out of state. I loved my experience until I was being checked out and was surprised with a bill after being told by my insurance that my preventative services would be covered 100%. I received an exam, oral cancer screen and they took full mouth radiographs prior to my cleaning since I was a new patient. When I was checking out the office argued that even though the insurance states they cover 100% of the radiographs they dont always do what they say so they charged me a portion of it and told me my insurance doesnt cover the oral cancer screen (which I was not asked whether or not I had wanted it done and always was asked at my prior dentist offices and declined due to the added cost and the fact that I am not a smoker - I assumed in this state it was part of the oral exam since the dentist was doing it, not the hygienest, and they didnt ask whether or not I wanted it). I paid my bill after nicely asking what the charges were for. I called Humana, they stated they cover 100% of what I was charged for for the radiographs but the oral cancer screen was not covered for my age group. I called the dentists office and they still argued that the insurance may not pay all of it despite them telling me they will. I noted that I was surprised that they had performed billable procedures without my permission, simply hoping for an apology, and there was silence on the other end of the line. The fees are not much but it was the lack of apologetics from the office since I was surprised to have a bill that upset me. $50 isnt much but I watch where my money goes and I have dental insurance for this reason. I really liked Dr. Chacknes and the dental hygienists who did my cleaning and took my radiographs but they should be more up front with costs if they dont think my insurance covers it. Ill wait to see what my Explanation of Benefits states when my insurance pays the office and see if I am due a refund. I already have a return visit scheduled for another 6-month cleaning and I will apparently need to be more explicit regarding what is covered under my plan then so I am not charged unnecessarily.

I love going here. My daughter and I have been going there for a while and been a customer. But for the last yeat it has been awlful dealing with them. Last year I had a procedure and I asked Jenny several times what I will owe and she told me it was covered. I called and asked again the day before I went to make sure, again I was told it was covered. So I went, after the visit I was told I owe $250. I told them I could not pay that and thats why I called before hand. So I set up a payment. A few weeks later my daughter needed to be seen for she was in pain and Jenny told me they would not see her until I paid my balance, which should not have even affected her for she had Medicade. I was furious and had to pay it so she could be seen quickly. Jenny is so inconsiderate and there has been several times she said told me one thing and had to pay another.. I love going here but I am actively looking for another dentist all because of one person.

I HAD THE WROST EXPERIENCE WITH THIS DENTIST OFFICE. MY SON WAS IN PAIN AND HURTING. PHARMACY SYSTEM WAS DOWN AND I COULDNT GET THE MEDICINE SO I CALLED BAYSHORE DENTISTRY TO MAKE ANOTHER APPT. ONLY TO FIND OUT THE MANAGER, JENNY WAS VERY RUDE & DISRESPECTFUL. NOT ONLY DID SHE TELL ME NO AT FIRST BUT MADE ANOTHER APPT WITH OUT CONFIRMING WITH ME(THE MOTHER). THEY HAVE MY UPDATED NUMBERS IN THE SYSTEM AND SHE CALLED THE WRONG NUMBER. NOT TO MENTION THW WRONG NUMBER IS DISCONNECTED. I WILL NEVER ADVISE ANYONE TO GO TO THIS DENTIST OFFICE.

I have always loved going there until recently when being checked out my bill was more than they told me it was going to be after I doubled checked before I had the procedure done. I asked 4 times and they told me same price until I checked out and then they charged me double that amount. The lady jennie at front desk is rude, but the rest are always so sweet , they do great work, but I will be switching dentist all because of one person that works there .

Not a fan, I loved this place when Dr. Barker was there and they were on Ebenezer. Since the change I no longer feel as welcome. I get constant calls about appointments and they will sneak charges in there even if you are going for JUST a cleaning. The location is beautiful I can say that...
