My 14 yo daughter went in today 10/05/2016 to have 3 fillings done, Melissa was the person whom was going to do the procedure, and administer the Novicaine. My daughter jerked her head forward, bounced in the seat, and done everything a 2 or 3 year old child would do. Melissa and her assistant was great at trying to con.vince my 14 yo daughter that the shot of novicaine was not big deal. When I seen trouble arising I proceeded to call my daughters dad and explain to him what was taking place. He talked to her, and Melissa, her assitant and I tried to explain to my daughter that this was a procedure that would greatly benefit her in the long run. After approximately 30 minutes of debating with my 14 yo daughter, I told the Dentist and her assitant that there were other that needed the chair my daughter was in, and we all were wasting our breath on her. Melissa and her assistant was absolutely wonderful in trying to talk my daughter into getting the shot of Novicaine, and explaining the benefits of getting this procedure done. Melissa was great in calling my daughter out when she tried disrespecting me in her office. My opinion is that this is a great place to come, and they will try everything possible in getting the job done, yet those that are super resistant, they explained the pros and cons of the procedure. Very informative bunch of people. Would I recommend, YES, I WOULD!

The receptionists in the lobby are very helpful and professional. The dentists are okay but the technicians/assistants are inexperienced and the wait time is horrible. I had the unfortunate experience of having provisional crown work done in my mouth. I was in the office for 3.5 hours getting this work done, only to have a few hours later the cap break in two and fall off. The next day I called the office and they scheduled me to come in the following day. I returned to the dentist office to have them repair the cap, and the same technician/assistant who prepared the cap and worked on the tooth spent the next 45 minutes trying to convince me to charge my insurance another expense to have them fix the original provisional crown that came off in less than 5 hours of them doing the original work. They never examined the tooth! I requested to speak with the doctor and also explained to them I was on my lunch break and was on a time crunch. I was told the doctor would see me, suffice to say the doctor never came and an hour passed with me sitting in the waiting room unattended. Finally, in frustration and great disappointment, I left the office. Suffice to say, I do not recommend this dentist.

If I could give it no stars, I would. I have tried for a year to appreciate this practice but I have had one issue after another. Its a miserable place to go if you have any concept of what good dental care and good dental practice management should look like. We have had numerous issues where treatment was drastically delayed because of dentist availability (being short staffed or overbooked). We have had too many conversations to mention where no notes were charted so no one knew important treatment-related conversations had already been had between several clinicians and me, the parent, for all of my four children. We even had an appointment that I scheduled cancelled by the staff after we had already checked in because insurance didnt cover it even though my daughter needed the appointment, I already knew insurance wouldnt cover it, and I was prepared to pay out of pocket that day. They dont care what your child needs or what is best, only what insurance will cover. Its a shame and comes close to violating obvious ethics. If you want a good dental practice, look up India Hook Dental Care and never look back.

Terrible! Only one good hygienist and shes rarely there. The others are too rough. My childs gums were always left swollen and bleeding. He has healthy gums and teeth, so no need for such vigorous cleaning. Never pleased with the dentists there. Long wait times well past appt time. Unfriendly and stiff with no bedside manner. Front desk receptionists are rude, usually ignore you standing there. They messed up my sons last appointment. They wrote on my appt card a different day that they had put in the computer system. We came and were not seen of course, they made no apologies for their error! So he was dismissed early from school for no reason, and no Dr. note. We switched to Dr. Moore of Family Dentistry in Rock Hill. They are much more experienced and professional. Kool Smiles is a gimmicky place, not good for quality dental care. You are paying for the games that usually dont work, and the tiny play gym in the waiting area. Quality dental care should be what you pay for!

We scheduled online for a 9 am appmnt. We received an email the day before confirming the 9 am appmnt. The morning of the appmnt. we got a call, text, and email at 7:15 saying my daughters appmnt, time was at 8 am. When we got there I tried to ask the receptionist why and she rudely sai " I dunno". There was also a dental assistant who had brought her child to work that morning. Her child was coughing and sneezing all over everything in the waiting room. We had to wait ten minutes after our time because they were all in the back socializing about that one workers little girl and the new scrub jackets they were distributing to all the hygienist and assistants. They yelled at my daughter numerous times about keeping her head still while taking xrays. If you dont have the patience for children why work at a pediatric dental office. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere in six months.

They only have one dentist working each day for am office full of patients, therefore the wait times are horrible in the waiting room as well as once you finally get back into a room. Our 4 year old had to have 2 cavities filled and we were there for 2.5 hours simply because the dentist was trying to work on 10 patients at once. The staff act as if they have better things they could be doing besides working on your child. Also they make you pay for the service before they even get started so you are basically stuck there waiting around on them to even get started. The receptionist at this location also has no clue what she is doing and has an attitude toward people who actually question her. Do not recommend.

My daughter has been here a few time now. She is three and hates going to the dentist. The first few times I took her here she had bad experiences. But This past time I took her, I couldnt believe it. She didnt cry once, and this was the first time I didnt have to hold her. The ladys that worked on her teeth were the greatest. I could tell that they made all the difference this time. They were so nice with my daughter, and when my daughter got her x-rays done, it went so smoothly. Because of this experience, I no longer have issues with taking my child to the dentist

My kids have been going here for a few yrs now and I know my kids love coming here they love the play ground area here. I have one complaint and its when my 3 yr old came here for the first time to have a cavity taken care of it was the worst experience in my life. I just wanted to scoop him up and run out the door and the assistant was getting frustrated with him cause he was screaming amd would not sit still. Thankfully he was recommended to another dentist and he will continue to go there.
