Dr. Schaubert and her staff are amazing. We recently got a pomeranian puppy, Sophie, that started wheezing. We called in on saturday and her staff made time to see us that same morning. We took Sophie in and Dr. Shaubert identified and treated fleas, ear mites, and a sore that we had missed. To be safe, she also gave our new pup a dewormer. It was a good thing she did because that night we found a whole nest of dead worms in Souphies feces. For the cough, we were prescribed saline and decongestant and instructed to follow up if it did not get better within two days. On Sunday she actually called us herself to see how the puppy was doing. This was also a good thing because the cough had gotten worse, and she called in a prescription for antibiotics to our pharmacy. All of that cost $150, most of the cost being for the medications. The same day office visit was only $45. After this experience, I can say I will never be switching vets as long as I live in Austin. Thorough, skilled, cost-effective treatment delivered by an accessible, caring, and professional staff. What more could I ask for? Now that I

We have been going to Austin Vet Hospital since moving to Austin in 2011, and we were very lucky to find such an amazing group of people! We have a dog named Pacino, and the minute you step in the staff are very welcoming. They know and greet all of the pets by their names. The vets (weve seen and liked all of them!) and vet techs are professional, informative, understanding, flexible, and just awesome people all around. Theyre also very quick too. I had an 11:00 a.m. appointment, and even though I showed up about ten minutes early, we were immediately weighed and taken to a room and seen. I was out of there before 11:30! What more could you look for in a vet clinic? They are professional, reasonably priced, friendly, and fast. We love Austin Vet Hospital!

LOVE this place! i am a crazy cat lady and call them every time my cat looks at me funny (approx every 12 seconds) and they are always nice, patient, and understanding. it might be on the higher end for costs but i dont know anyone who wouldnt spend well to keep their pet well. they dont overcharge by any means - youre paying for attentive and thoughtful care and follow-up. also, ive had quite a few situations where i had options on doing a smaller, cheaper test or a bigger, expensive one and they always make my options clear to me and let me make an educated decision. no pressure, ever. just guidance. and dr palvino is a fox!

Margarita and Shiner have both been treated so well at Austin Vet Hospital. For example, today, Margarita was transferred back to Austin Vet Hospital from the emergency vet. We arrived without an appointment first thing and they even opened the door early to let her in. I received a call after the vet checked on her and she said "she is nervous, but we know that is typical for her". It is so nice having a vet who remembers your pets quirks. It helps them provide better care. Our dogs are on a rotating 6-month schedule for getting sick and each time this office has been so great. We just really appreciate everything they do.

When I moved back to Austin I needed a vet for my dogs sudden illness and relied on the reviews here to find a vet. Fast forward to today, Ive been bringing my older dog to Austin Vet Hospital for the past couple years and have never been anything short of impressed. Now I have a new puppy, and I wont be taking him anywhere else. The staff shows their sincere care for the animals over the phone and in the office. I dont ever feel like were taken advantage of or treated like just another client. Right now its very close to our house, but well continue to make the trip even if we move to another part of town.

We were very lucky to find this place when we moved to Austin. Unfortunately we have been visiting often as we found out that our German Shepherd has shoulder dysplasia. They did all the x-rays and gave us a wonderful surgical referral. Didnt realize it at the time, but by them taking all the x-rays saved us a ton of money at the surgery center. They even put all the files on a CD for us to keep for any future needs. I never feel like they are trying to add on unnecessary services to just run up the bill, and they always told me what things cost in advance. I will be a long time client here.

I am very impressed with every aspect of this place. The front desk is exceptional on all occasions, even when we call before closing or ask to be squeezed in. The vets are attentive and very good at communicating. For example, we were playing phone tag over the results of a number of different tests and they stayed at it until they actually got me on the phone to explain the results (the vet, not a tech or desk staff). Then they followed up weekly to make sure our pet was improving. Good people, good place.

Get at call 5 minutes before by appointment starts from Doug asking where I am. I explain Im on my way, about 5 minutes out. I get lost in a traffic, and because I was fifteen minutes over they "Doug" gave my appointment away. Rudely without apology even though he knew I was on my way as he had called. I sat in an hours traffic with my ill pet to get to this vet because it came highly recommended. If they treat the animals like they treat people you shouldnt bring your pet here.

By far the best vet Ive ever been to. So glad I found them. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, from the folks at the front desk to the vet tech to the vet himself. Our vet was TJ and he even did a call back the next day to check up on our cat. They really went above and beyond to try to ensure our cat was comfortable in his surroundings, which was totally unnecessary but very much appreciated. I am definitely going back and I would highly recommend them!

The vets and vet techs and people behind the desk all obviously love animals and that makes going here such a great experience. The vet snuggled our kitten and gave him a toy, as well as answering all our questions. When we called to ask about a health concern, a different vet called us back that night and then again the next day and three days later to check on our kitty. This isnt the cheapest, but what vet is? Theyre super kind and worth every penny.

I gave them two stars cause the staff is very friendly but Dr. Palmino cares more about money than your pet. After my last visit I was $30 short on my bill. Instead of trying to work with me he suggested I leave without the medicine for my cats infection. I was shocked. He would rather risk my pet get sicker and die than work out a budget...the visit was already over $100. Hes a greedy man.
