Recently went in for my cat who had blood in his urine. I will NEVER return again! Friday was a $431 bill that in the end was necessary. HOWEVER! The agony and unnecessary panic that they caused me and my family was horrific! I sat in that room bawling thinking I was going to have to make a $2k decision and "that if I didnt he could die and that this was an emergency!" Knowing we truly dont have that kind of money but not wanting to lose or have Zeus (cat) in pain, I pleaded to see if there was anything else we could do before taking him to the ER for hospitalization and that money was a concern! "They could give him a steroid shot, but it was not a good idea for his kidneys and it was past that (he was blocked and could be stones etc)!" Also that she felt his bladder and while it didnt seem swollen it was obviously still an emergency! They said no and he HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL. Finally in the midst of all this I responded to my friend on FB (while I sat in the room with Zeus crying waiting for them to charge my cc again $42) who saw my post that worked at another vet that was 24hrs. In hoping they would see this could be a benefit to my financial concern, I turned to them and told them I have a friend that works at a clinic that can do what the er can do and I could take him there! They said "no thats not wise, they are not equipped to do what should/could have to be done." As I mentioned above, they charged me again ($42) within 24hrs to bring him in just tell me he was not doing well (this is/was my vet I bring all 3 pets to). Following my gut and trusting my friend I went to the other vet for a second opinion. They got me in immediately, tell me to get a coupon online knowing cost was a concern, and told me they wouldnt repeat anything but bring in my paperwork from the other vet (and called to get the notes). The Doc/vet comes in and goes over everything with me in laymana terms. Blood work and everything. He proceeded to calm me down saying that this is not an emergency. Blood work and his symptoms explains a bad infection, BUT his bladder wasnt swollen to even give indication of blockage. Ever have a UTI he asked? You go to pee and you cant right? Same thing right now for him. The steroid shot would absolutely help and the Meds I was given the previous day at the other vet were good. He also looked at me and said "if Zeus turns for the worst and I had to come back in for this, HE WOULD NOT CHARGE ME!" $52 with the shot and visit! (I had said nothing about woodland springs charging me again). Pets mean the world to their owners, and most understand the expense, but this situation to me was unethical and I will share it with others to hopefully prevent them from doing it to anyone else!

Our dog scout tore her ACL on a Friday night. Having gone through this with her once already we wanted to have her seen before Monday to get her pain under control as fast as possible. We called woodland springs Saturday morning and they got us in to see Dr. Slough at 11:30, the end of the day. Everything about the last ACL tear, and subsequent TPLO surgery, was a nightmare, with exception to her ultimate recovery and prognosis. Everything about our experience with Dr. Slough was the opposite. Despite the fact that it was the end of their day, he gave us as much time as we needed to ask questions and feel comfortable with the prospect of another 2 - 4 months of recovery from surgery. He took his time with scout, and us, and acted like he had nowhere to be but there. After scouts surgery, at a surgery center not affiliated with woodland springs, he even personally called us to check up on her and ask if we needed anything. Id also like to respond to some of the older comments regarding upselling. I understand thats frustrating, especially when dealing with an already otherwise stressful situation. But all you have to say is "no." If thats the worst thing you can say about your vet then you have no idea how bad it can be, trust me. Thanks Dr. Slough, youve made a lifelong customer out of us.

Have to say that I love this place. Our dog was hit by a car on July 5th and we brought her here. We put our sweet Bella down that day and it was so hard. My daughter of course was hysterical and for me it was a bit overwhelming since I had just lost my father weeks prior and now to see my daughter going through this again. You baby your pets and take care of them but to have to let them go is so hard. You dont realize how much of an impact it is until you are faced with the decision. The staff was amazing and even did the whole procedure while I took my daughter outside so she can calm down. We decided to bury her at home so my daughter could have peace and take her flowers like she wanted. They turned her over to us in a pet carrier bag and it was a smooth transition. Today we received a sympathy card from them. And it was a blessing just last night my daughter started crying over Bella and saying she missed her and wanted to know she was OK. Your card had a little paw print on it and when my daughter saw she smiled and said look mommy bella is saying shes OK shes taking care of grandpa. Thank you so much you have no idea what that little gesture means to her.

I am an avid pet lover. I have had pets for over 15 years. WSVH, and especially my experience with Dr. Loter, has been beyond AWESOME. We recently moved here from NC. My cat of almost 15 yrs. had diabetes. In her last 6 months of life, WSVHs staff and Dr. Loter really did everything they could for her, as well as for me, and my family. I still miss my cat like crazy, but WSVH (to this day) still helps me with that too. Not only did they know the names of all our pets, they knew (and know) me when I call. And though some reviews on other sites claim they are expensive, WSVH has proven comparable, as well as economical, where other vets are expensive. My biggest love for them is that they listen to me. I am the voice of my pets, as they dont have one of their own. They know I know my pets better than anyone and they treat me so, unlike other local vets Ive been to who have treated me like they know more about my pets than I do. Since my cat passed away, Ive since picked up two new kittens, one rescued by WSVH. They have a genuine love of ALL pets, and all their human companions. I highly recommend them.

DO NOT GO TO THIS VET!!!! this vet is more concerned with collecting fees than customer service. I used to take 3 of my dogs there for a few years. I had a coupon which I explained to the staff and which the staff said they would honor. When it came time for check out, they wouldnt. Dr Loter took me back to a room and said that I ALWAYS try to use coupons and upset the staff. He would NOT take my side at all and got me so upset that I pulled all my dogs and records to another vet. The coupon was $15.00 off so he felt losing my business was better than accepting the coupon and chose to believe his staff than a customer. Even after the fact, I wrote the office a letter explaining how mistreated I felt and made copies of all my vet bills from all my pets (over $6k) just in one year and got no response, no apology, no nothing. I warn you. Do NOT go to this vet, all they care about is collecting your money and no customer service at all!!!! Your pets will be just another dollar bill for them and not personal.
