I saw Dr. King once in her office. While she was pleasant and easy to speak to, the inefficient way she manages her office is a very big sore spot for me. She failed to come into her office to see patients for almost a week due to "bad weather". I am from up north and I have NEVER heard of any doctor not seeing patients for a week because of the weather. The weather here was not that bad for an entire week! She does NOT have an answering service so I was unable to reach her when I needed medical care during the bad weather. In addition, her office is quite non-accommodating when dealing with changes in insurance, even insurance they accept. They refused to see me the second time without an insurance card, even though I had all of my insurance information written down to give them in order to verify benefits. Their failure to work with and to be accommodating to their patients has caused me to seek out a different primary care physician. I expect my doctor to be there for me; I had to wait almost two weeks for routine blood test results when the lab she used is in the same building! Her office staff was rude and snotty, and non-accommodating. I would stay far, far away from this doctor if you have a chronic illness or any medical issues that need addressed in a timely manner. I did not know if her office was closed or not a few weeks back and since I couldnt get a hold of an answering service of any kind, I called the ER and asked if they had an additional number for her. The ER unit secretary told me that they did NOT have an additional phone number for Dr. King and that when her patients are in either the ER or the hospital, she doesnt return their phone calls and is very difficult to get a hold of. I dont know about anyone else, but that is a doctor I do not want anywhere near me! If you are very sick, she will NOT be there for you when you need her as your doctor. My advice is RUN, RUN, RUN, especially if you are chronically ill.

An open letter to Dr. King due to inability to contact you any other way. I am upset that your front office staff is unwilling to take a message or apparently to assist your patients in any way. This morning I found myself in a quandry with multiple out of country and or out of town trips in rapid succession and that my prescriptions had expired. I had reached out to your office for an appointment as soon as possible and to see if we might extend my prescriptions temporarily. I was informed that this is not standard procedure and of course I understand that. However, is it better to have a patient without prescriptions; well I suppose it is. So I am left to work something out as my doctor cannot be reached and no alternative is offered. So in summation, I am frustrated and left to wonder why it should be acceptable to have a family doctor who is not available to assist with my medical needs.

switching Doctors, office staff not courteous, and does not follow up on returning calls .Have been a patient for close to 20 yearsif not more. past two years only seen Dr. king once or twice. its always nurse Hornsby.I complained about joint pain and she Said I was gluten sensitive without running any type of tests!!! And..... when they moved their office from Garland Rd. They didnt even send out a card or call their patients.Made an appointment walked into old office sign on door "Have moved to Bla Bla Buckner" Here I was sick and just off the bus line and had to walk all away around the corner to Doctors Hospital.(new office) Granted its really not that far but when you are ill as I was it seemed further. And the receptionist wasnt apologetic because she was the one I made the appointment with!

I went there for a serious illness and was given 3 prescriptions, one of which is a cure for my chronic liver illness. After 2 attempts to get a pre-authorization from this office, which would grant me access to the life saving medication, I gave up. I am not sure whether or not to be mad at my insurance or mad at the lack of response from this office. I had always had good experiences here before, but this was not right. I just called back to try to get the other two prescriptions and she (office personnel) took my entire statement then said she would pass on the message, and severed the call. The message does not seem like it will do a lot of good without my name. It is the staff, not the Dr.- I get that- but the problem needs to get fixed. I wont go back, now.

Im glad I read through these comments. I went through a horrible experience at this doctor, couldnt get her on the phone about prescriptions, her staff was so rude, the last time I called, I was in tears, said I give up and Id find another doctor and hung up. Her response? To call me on the phone, berate me, and tell me she agreed I should find another doctor--that I was too rude. When I told her what transpired with her staff, she didnt care. I told her the fact that she didnt bother to respond to a patients calls and pleas for help, but would call me and fire me as a patient said a lot about her. BTW, she was very kind the first time I met with her. Just dont need her services and you see another side of her. This was a very disturbing experience for me.

My wife and daughter have to find a new doctor for the third time since I was medically diacharged from the military. This doctor is not accepting Military Health Insurance for retired and injured soldiers. If the VA is not bad enough, try finding a good health provider for your family. It is just as bad. They are being punished since I was injured for my country. Anti-American doctor. Please do not give her buisness. She pleasures her freedom and turns on the protectors. She is a hypocrite. Its time to stand up for Veteran Health Care. Boycott. Lets she if she is closed on Memorial day, since that is a Military holiday. How dare she observe it. She better be open as usual.

I have been with Dr. King for 13 years + . She has seen me and my children and we all love her. Ive been able to get same day appointments or next day the latest when we are sick. She has a very gentle and loving manner and will make sure you get taken care of. Her Nurse Practitioner is excellent as well. I live over an hour away and refuse to seek out any other physician in my area. These 2 gals are the best in my book.

I have been trying for 5 days to get someone on the phone to schedule an appointment. I get placed on hold before I can even speak a word, and I continue on hold until I can no longer afford to waste my time holding. Currently I am on call number 3 since 9:00am (its now 9:36) my call keeps ending after the 3rd time I am replaced on hold. Will be switching doctors.
