No, I would not recommend this doctor. As a first time patient with past history of troubled skin issues, this doctor did not examine me properly, instead without hesitation and no consultation with me zapped me mercifully with liquid nitrogen wherever he saw fit. Most regrettably, he zapped a healthy mole which I cherished being a family trademark - all my siblings have it. Its gone now. My wonderful, regular dermatologist had to finish the damage this doctor started, and had to cut it off.

While he is not into a lot of the new cosmetic procedures, he is excellent for basic skin care and skin conditions. You can get an appointment quickly and he does not keep you waiting. Often, he sends you home with samples, which is a nice plus. He is very cooperative about recommending colleagues who practice some area of cosmetic dermagology that her does not. Very reliable, dependable, and friendly.

Not recommended for Medicare patients: The practice stated that Dr. Steinmetz accepts Medicare patients. However, after treatment, they required immediate payment out of pocket and said they would file a claim with Medicare, which would reimburse me in full. However, Dr. Steinmetz substantially overcharged, for which there was no reimbursement and a considerable amount of grief from the practice.

I took my one year old daughter here, she had some nasty painful pus filled bumps on her behind. I have taken her to other Drs about. Dr. Steinmetz did fix the problem with only one visit and within a few days she was much better. Thank you Dr. Steinmetz.
