I have a feeling this is going to be a long essay 1. I am around 500 dollars poorer and I left with an absolute frown 2. Firstly, they book a lot of patients at the same time. The wait time was not long but the service we received was very disappointing 3. Firstly, when I was ushered in to get my x-ray done, I had to ask the dental assistant for the protective cover! Apparently it slipped her mind. From that point onwards I was ready to walk out of the dental office and I was feeling very nervous about what other serious mishaps that might happen. 3. The dentist slipped into my side of the wall when she was half done with the other patient next to me. She did not introduce herself which is fine but probably not the best practice. She worked on my teeth, numbed my gums and proceeded to the next patient onto the other side of the wall. Then the dental assistant took over. Doubt she really did anything to my teeth. The way she worked on my teeth felt as though it was her first time doing dental work. 5 minutes later, the dentist popped back to my side of the wall and started working on my teeth again. Halfway through, someone else walked into my side of my wall and started talking to the dentist. Apparently that person was observing the dentist doing dental work on me cause he wants to major in dentistry. I do not have a problem with that but AT LEAST have the decency to let me know ahead of time that someone is going to observe! 4. I felt nervous the whole time here because many things they did here were questionable. I am afraid that my health may be compromised due to the way this office is run. You do not get personal attention from your dentist. They are busy rushing back and forth from patient to patient. and they can easily forget a safety procedure. Just like the dental assistant who forgot to put the protective x ray cover on me. 5. We left this dental office with around 500 dollars out of our pocket and as embarrassed as i am to admit this, I had smelly breath when I left the dental office. They did not provide a cup or mouth wash for me to rinse my mouth and probably did not polish and clean my teeth properly. I suspect the smell was due to the process of getting my filling done and maybe some bacteria from my cavity that was exposed?? (who knows). Yes, this place is cheap if you dont have insurance but id rather pay more and be assured good service without any possibility of malpractice.

Best Dentist Ever Had! She is very gentle and will continue to give shots if you feel any pain! I had the opposite experience as Slugger. I have told my Aunt and Uncle, brothers girlfriend, and any other friends that tell me they need dental work. My brother and I have needed dental work to be done for over five years now; but we do not have insurance. We would have went in but felt it would cost too much to get all of the work that needed to be done fixed. I was going to get a Freebird burrito and saw the dental office was still open and decided to ask about prices. I AM SO GLAD I DID! Both my brother and I had over 12 cavities and we needed one root canal and a tooth pulled. I took them up on their $25 exam and xrays and was floored when I was given my estimate. It was affordable and we were even able to get 18 months no interest on all work that was done! And the total cost was a fraction of the price we were considering. The dentist is a very kind woman and makes sure you are comfortable with the procedures and pricing before anything is done. You can listen to the tvs in each room with headsets or just listen to your own iPod. I have anxiety and did NOT have to use any nitrous for the extraction or the fillings. I strongly advise you go and at least get the $25 exam and meet her and her husband and see what I am talking about! I am now able to eat on both sides of my mouth and I do not wake up with pain! TRY HER, It will be the best thing you do this year! Joe

The worst experience I have ever had. I felt like I was on a used car lot!!!!! I had a tooth hurting me very badly, they did get me in ASAP (I know now because of the lack of patience). The dentist was more interested in "deep cleaning my teeth" than the tooth I had the problem with. After she hit my raw nerve!!!!! She still insited that I must have deep cleaning (never needed this before), she deaded my whole mounth and did the deep cleaning in about 10 minutes, my husband has to have this all the time because of a gum problem and it takes up to an hour sometimes longer to do it correctly, not to mention I really do not think I needed it. I was a $556.00 charge that I had to pay $278 of. After the short cleaning, she attempted to pull my tooth and again hit the raw nearve, tried again and did the same thing. Then told me I needed a oral surgen, that my roots were curved and she could not do it (did she not know my roots were curved by the X-Ray????????????) so after I owed her out of pocket almost $400.00 I left with an exposed root to go to a real denist, who was fantastic by the way. I think these people put money over patients and do not care at all about the patients or what money they pay out. I would ask to see her degree if you go.

This place is shady. Dont go here if you have insurance. I went here in an emergency because they were the only place that would see me the same day (on a Friday afternoon). The waiting roomis was filthy, they had me fill out my forms on laminated paper with an expo marker, and I had 5 different people put their fingers in my mouth. I had just had a cleaning and exam with my old dentist two weeks before, but he is 200 miles away. They wanted to put fillings in half my teeth, and pointed at "cavities" on my x-ray that werent anything. I let them schedule me to do just a temporary crown the next week, and their office called me that morning saying the dentist who saw me before had an emergency that day and couldnt be there... but that they would have a different dentist do the work at the same appointment time. I cancelled and found somebody else to do it two days later. Pros: the staff was friendly, and they were going to do a crown cheaper than a solo private practice dentist (but only if I would get a bunch of fillings i dont need on top of that)

Well, I cracked a tooth and managed to get an afternoon appointment the same day, which was good; and the X-ray and exam only cost $25, and that was good, too. Because of this, they earn a star. However, the follow-through left a lot to be desired. I explained that I was on vacation and would be going back up to Vermont in a month, and that my Medicaid was only good for Vermont. Yet they wanted to do a crown for a whopping $900 even though I stated I wouldnt be staying in Denton and couldnt wait for the crown to come in. And when I got back home, my dentist was able to do a composite filling instead of a crown, which wound up saving me hundreds of dollars. They also said I had 4 cavities, yet my dentist here said they were barely cavities and couldnt be worked on, yet Smile Dental presented me with "treatment plans" to have the cavities worked on. I came in there for one single thing, so all I needed was a single treatment plan, and they gave me multiple ones. Suffice to say, this place cant be trusted.
