Her eyes were partially open when I picked her up from Koy, but they were empty and she was completely unresponsive. I had taken the dog in that morning to have her teeth cleaned, and arrived at about 5PM to pick her up. One of the vet techs brought her out to me in the state that I describe above. I was pretty shaken after talking to the vet, a woman named Mockler who told me to bring her back in the morning if she wasnt better! I was really afraid that my dog was brain-damaged or something, so I decided to take her to an emergency clinic in Round Rock. While I was on the way, I called Koy and asked them to fax the record of my dogs treatment that day to the other facility. When I arrived at the emergency clinic, they went to work on my dog, but Koy hadnt faxed the info to them. Instead, Mockler had called and told one of their techs what she had given my dog. The clinic vet, Dr Conquest, attempted to treat her, but two hours later, my dog was still limp as a rag, with no expression, none, in her eyes. About 7:30, my wife finally caught up with the situation. She had gone by Koy earlier in the day to pay for the dental procedure, and the cashier had given her a receipt which detailed the medications that our pet had been given. Over the phone, my wife read off the list of the meds to Dr Conquest, who indicated that Mockler had given her the WRONG information over the phone. Conquest gave my dog an injection of some sort, and she came to about fifteen minutes later. The next day, I phoned Mockler and politely explained my view that she had NO BUSINESS performing dental cleanings on dogs if she was unprepared to provide appropriate care to the animal in case of a complication like that experienced my pet. All I got in return, was a bunch of attitude. WARNING, Koy animal clinic is completely unprepared to deal with medical emergencies like the one experienced by my dog. Either they should stop booking these sort of procedures, or they should be forced to do so by the state of Texas. As for Lynneanne Mockler, I woudnt trust her with the care and feeding of a cockroach.

Will not be going here again. I have a variety of complaints about this place after just one year of visits. First of all, they do the whole "Oh your cat barfed, he might be dying, he needs this $300 blood test." bullshit. Unfortunately, my fiance fell for that (he doesnt know cats barf all the time) and ended paying for the tests (and getting results back 2 days later than they told us) just so we can be told that my cat wasnt dying after all (imagine that) and is just constipated. Thanks, we knew that, thats the reason we brought him in in the first place. Gave us no treatment or advice on the problem, just took our money and sent him home. I ended up looking up constipation treatments on the internet (hairball remedy worked wonders). Then there was the time I took my three dogs in. For *everything*, they take the animals into the back room and then hand them back to you when theyre done. Ive never liked this about their practice and it was even worse this time. I specifically told them to only trim our GSDs nails, we do the chihuahuas ourself. They took all the dogs in the back cause the wahwahs were getting shots too, and I listened to my GSD howl and yelp for 10 minutes, no idea what they were doing to him. Gave me no explanation on what he was so upset over. Then they brought the wahwahs back saying they "went ahead and did their nails too." I assumed they were being polite since Id explicitly told them Im not paying for that. Guess what was on the bill. $40 for that thing I asked them to not do. The worst thing theyve done though? Tell me that their blood tests indicated my cat needed 3 units of insulin twice a day, which sent him into a hypoglycemic seizure at 3 am a few days later. Bought a home testing kit cause I no longer trusted them, guess whose blood sugar was *fine* every time I tested it. Thanks for taking my money and ALMOST KILLING MY CAT.

Brought my cat in this morning for what I thought was a stomach bug of come kind. I was being helped by a new young doctor who took my cat to the "back" to draw blood and to give him a hydration treatment. A few minutes later the nurse returns to collects my carrier without explanation. Then the doctor returned and informed me that my cat had bit her so she was going to report it to the local animal control and that I could not have my cat back. When I went a little bonkers, another doctor came in and explained that this was fairly routine and that I would be able to take my cat home for a 10 day quarantine once the report was filed. But meanwhile they had to keep my cat until the report was filed. Three hours later I returned to pick my cat up and found out that the 10 day quarantine was to occur at the local ANIMAL SHELTER and I would not be able to see him, hold him, or touch him for 10 days. Stay away from these bozos....they lie, theyre clearly incompetent (as any vet that doesnt know about or prepare for animal bites in their line of work probably shouldnt be a vet imho.) After 20 years of putting my trust in them, I will never set foot on to their property again. Dr. Koy, a great vet who started the practice is long retired. Save your pets life and go somewhere else.

For over 2 years Dr. Koy allowed my dog’s thyroid level to be less than one half the proper level WITHOUT any retesting. How could any vet be so IRRESPONSIBLE?? Although Dr. Koy tested my dog’s thyroid level in Aug, 2007 and found the level to be less than one half the proper level and prescribed medication to correct, I allege that Dr. Koy was either negligent and/or incompetent and/or uncaring because he did not perform any retest for over 2 years. Dr. Koy personally performed my dog’s annually checkup in March, 2008 and in March, 2009 and performed blood tests as part of both annual checkups, he neglected to retest my dog’s thyroid level. Also, with a charge of $85.50 for the clinic’s recommended blood work prior to some surgery Sept, 2009, Dr. Koy’s clinic still neglected to do any testing for thyroid level. Dr. Webster, told me during my dog’s staple removal following the Sept, 2009 surgery that my dog’s thyroid level tested at 1.3 in Aug, 2007 and that the level should be 3.0. I became very upset that Dr. Koy had NEGELECTED to do ANY retest for over 2 years when he knew my dog’s level was less than one half what it should be. I GOT A NEW VET WHO CARES ABOUT ANIMALS!!

Weve used Koy Animal Clinic for almost 28 years. Dr. Koy was great as are Drs. Hensley and Webster. I have a cat, "that almost died" as another reviewer said, twice. Dr. Webster saved his life the first time by removing a bladder obstruction. Dr. Hensley saved his life the second time because of a bowel obstruction. Its easy to say "cats throw up all the time". Yes, sometimes they do and sometimes its not simply constipation. How many vets do you know who will crawl into the cage with your very sick pet and cradle him/her in their arms and help nurse them back to health? As a kid, I worked for a vet throughout high school and while in college worked at the Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine. I can tell you from those experiences that crawling into the cage with your sick pet to simply hold them is not routine yet that is exactly what Dr. Hensley did with our cat, Mr. Mason. The rest of the staff is first class as well.
