They killed my beautiful Yorkie Our little Yorkie went in to get his teeth cleaned. He had to have some extractions and we paid an additional $180 for "light anesthesia". When my husband picked him up he didnt look good and was coughing uncontrollably. The staff said "that is normal" after the procedure. When I got home I said something is wrong and my husband said "they said this is normal". This is their first mistake - they should not have released him to go home. We were up with our dog all night and I took him in when they opened the next morning. The vet said "I had thought about giving him a high dose steroid before he left yesterday". She should have - because during the procedure they collapsed his trachea. This was also a sign of the incompetence that took my little dogs life. Next they did an x-ray which confirmed the collapse and then gave him the "high dose steroid". They kept him for three days trying to save his life and again sent him home to in horrible shape. He had lost a lot of his body weight, was on several medications that kept him sedated. He coughed continuously and had difficulty breathing 24/7. This horrible ordeal for my beautiful little Yorkie went on for a week - until my husband said "he is suffering and cant go on like this" - we had to have him put down. My husband held him in his arms while they did the procedure. The vet kept giving him explanations and finally he said "please stop talking and just do what you have to do - your the vet". He was traumatized by the final procedure and did not think it went well for our little dog. I wish I had not asked him to do this. We had our little dog cremated. This vet never said I am sorry. We did get a sympathy card signed by the staff and the vets as a group but the vet that killed our little dog has never contacted us. The card really doesnt help much. We took our dog in for a routine dental care - and they managed to collapse his trachea and kill him. They made a series of wrong decisions and failed to monitor his condition or prepare us for his issues. The even managed to fumble the final moments my dogs life. All of this compounds the sense of grief and loss my family has experienced. We have used Rose Rock for over 15 years - they are very expensive sand until this incident I assumed we were getting good care - boy was I wrong. They appear to be chronically understaffed, severely need customer service training, and perhaps some continuing education on the use of light anesthesia with small dogs - and the appropriate intubation and recovery procedures - may also help. Who knows. All I can say for sure is something went terribly wrong during the procedure and I will never know what it was - I am a nurse and I know things happen. But I hate what they did to my little Yorkie. I will never forgive them for what they have put this family through. He will be remembered always as the best little dog we ever had - and I truly believe he died because of their lack of attention to detail and overarching incompetence. This all happened in May 2012 and we are still grieving for our beautiful little dog.

I took my two small dog in to get neutered and was blown away by the price. When I called to make the appt I never thought to ask how much it would be, I know that wasnt smart! But I never thought it would be as expensive as what they were going to charge...$205.00 PER DOG! That includes the bloodwork, pain meds, surgery fees yadda yadda. As it was my fault for not asking I was just going to go ahead and follow through with the appt...I was in the office with my dogs already when I found out the price. Well, in the questionaire it asks if the dogs had any vomitting prior to the surgery date and mine had both been sick 2 days before. The vet tech said she would tell the vet and that the vet may call me later for further details. About an hour later the vet called, she was very nice and listened to to my story of why they may have been sick and explained that since it was an elective surgery, she felt it was best to wait. I was sooo happy because now I wouldnt have that big vet bill!! Although, I was worried that something might be wrong with my dogs. She said she would exam them and see if she could find anything. She later called and said that she didnt see anything that was wrong with them but that she gave them both a shot to ease their tummies and was putting them on a bland diet. Again, she was very nice and patient explaining everythign on the phone. I was happy nothing was wrong with them and excited to pick them up. Imagine my shock when my bill was over $350...for nothing being wrong! A small portion of that was for their heartworm meds and there were charges for the prep work for the neutering....not sure why they did that since they knew they werent going to do the surgery. One of my dogs exam fees was higher than the other dogs and I wasnt told why. I never met the vet, the vet tech or whoever is the one who turned the dogs over to me. I would have been better off having their surgery because now I still have to pay for that! However, Im glad that she took precautions. The vet did call the next day to check up on the dogs and answer any questions which I appreciated. The staff are all so very nice but the prices just seem so high! I would love to use them for the neutering but I called around and found out that there is another facility that charges $118 and another that charges $78 and they both have good reviews. Im sure Roserock would say their prices are higher because they have better equipment...which may be the case...but it comes at a high price. So, long story short, staff is super friendly...facility is nice...prices are high!! For what I needed anyway. Couldnt tell you on the grooming, routine visits, or other.

I AM SO ANGRY! We will never be going back to Rose Rock Veterinary Hospital and Pet Resort. A week ago my dog had emergency surgery because he hurt his food really bad... So I took My puppy in there to have his bandage changed because he had gotten his collar off and chewed the bandage and splint. I spent 376 dollars to also make sure my dog was up to date on his flea medicine and heartworm and even bought some dental chews. I thought the doctor was amazing and nice! So I even set up an appointment for the other 2 dogs to get their heartworm and flea medicine and anal glands done! The doctor told me My puppys incision was GREAT and there was NO dirt or water and it wasnt infected. I was so happy! Well.... later that night we were taking him potty and we noticed that he was putting his weight on it.. which is exactly WHY it had a splint in it! Well upon further inspection... the doctor had left the original chewed down splint in it and just wrapped it with the same dirty wrap and then duct taped it... so we go in this morning and they say theyll fix it.. well they start telling My boyfriend that he has dirt and water in it and he needs to buy a boot and blah blah blah.. mind you they just told me yesterday everything was great.. so their still either trying to upswell us or the doctor lied to me yesterday.. My boyfriend said no.. and then they say they thought the doctor had just cut the splint... its obviously chewed on with bite marks all over and I had told them this yesterday.. and then they say they didnt get the stuff from the hospital, so they didnt know how far up it should go, which is a lie bc the doctor read the papers from there out loud to me.. so FINALLY they take him back and replace it.. then as my boyfriend goes to leave they rudely hand him the old bandage and tell him to take it to blue pearl bc its obviously not the same bandage(it had dirt all over it) .. then they tell him he owes 80 dollars.. he told them he wasnt gonna pay it bc we had paid for new bandaging yesterday.. and they screwed up.. well the girl says sh cant make him pay it and later calls and says "were just going to send it to collections." I told My boyfriend to pay it and well never deal with them again. And I will let everybody know how they endangered my dogs surgical wounds a week after I spent 3000 dollars to get his leg fixed.. Im so IRATE. This place does not care about these dogs at all.. they just want money.. if you want your animals to get sick or die, this is a great place to bring them.. this place is disgusting.. and Ive had about 50 stories from other dog owners that say the exact same thing.
