Unfortunately I had to walk out of my appointment as a new patient. They required me to take 18 x rays on my appointment and pay out of pocket since my insurance wouldnt cover them. Since I had taken x rays twice last year, I was only expecting to have routine cleaning done. The x rays I had taken within the year include bitewing x rays (12 months ago) and full panoramic x rays (6 months ago). It took me questioning this for them to realize their mistake that I actually had done full x rays recently. They then asked me to do only a few x rays and wouldnt tell me whether or not they would be covered by my insurance. I have moved around quite a bit and have never had a new dentistry demand I take so many x rays prior to doing a dental cleaning, especially when I have had so many done so recently. I do not want to accuse the dentistry of doing the x rays as a "money grab" because I do understand the importance of having x rays to evaluate the health of your teeth. However, it seems situations like this are not acceptable according to the ADA. The ADA states “Radiographic screening for the purpose of detecting disease before clinical examination should not be performed.” The guideline states patients with no clinical caries and low risk for caries or periodontal disease should have posterior bitewings every 24 to 36 months. RDH Mag writes about this topic: "Obviously, your doctor believes it is important to have current radiographs. However, using radiographs as a profit center in the practice is never appropriate. Patients are not stupid. Practices that expose their patients unnecessarily to radiation will find patient retention to be problematic."

Going to the dentist has never been at the top of my to do list. I know its great for you and keeps your pearls nice and white and all, but growing up it was often uncomfortable and time consuming. That being said, I could not speak more highly of Leaf Dentistry and Dr. Richardson. He has been my dentist for several years now and has performed everything from routine cleanings, fillings, and wisdom teeth extraction. He has always been forthcoming about the procedures he is planning to perform and what they entail, and has made every effort to ensure my comfort, while working efficiently with my time. Unquestionably, the health and appearance of my teeth and gums have significantly improved under his care. I still dont have dental appointments as my number one priority, but I always look forward to seeing Dr. Richardson, and I know the care given to my teeth and overall oral health is second to none. I highly recommend Leaf Dentistry to any individual or family looking for dental care.

Dr. Richardson is an amazing dentist! Hes very knowledgeable and lets you know exactly what hes doing. He answered all my questions and explained everything very well. During procedures Ive had, he was constantly checking to make sure I was comfortable. I loved that he was so attentive! And everyone knows a great dentist can be ruined by an unfriendly staff, BUT the assistants and front desk are all just as wonderful as Dr. Richardson! I love going to the dentist here. Im at ease and confident that I will receive excellent care each time I walk through the door. I would definitely recommend Dr. Richardson to anyone! My family will be moving about 40 minutes away in the next few months, but I still plan to travel to Grand Prairie to see him. Its not easy to find a great dentist you can trust for quality care!

I had an appointment at 8:30 as soon as i walked in the door their lovely staff greeted me by my name and asked was i already ready to be seen. They did not waste no time. Sat me down, did my x-rays and EXPLAINED to me what was going on with. Noticed i said EXPLAIN in bold letters because most dentist do not explain your situation they just tell you. Dr. Richardson showed me my x-rays and explained to me what was going on. A big plus. I found my #1 dentist in Grand Prairie. Leaf Family Dentistry. A loving care atmosphere. It gets 10 stars in my book. Thank you Dr. Richardson and The Family Leaf staff.

My new dentist is Dr. Chris Richardson, who bought the practice from my former dentist when he recently retired. He did one extraction on me a month ago and today two fillings -- excellent service, professional, personable and cares about his patients. I am good to go for quite some time now ("God willing the creek dont rise!"). Great staff! The three feral kitty cats in the high fenced garden (viewable from the waiting room and each dental chair facing the garden) are still well cared for and so cute. I highly recomment Dr. Richardson to anyone needing a great dentist!

Today I had an emergency visit with Dr. Richardson. From the moment I walked in the door till the time I left, him and his staff made sure I was ok and in no pain. His staff is a group of very sweet ladies and Dr Richardson himself is a very good man. His bedside manor is awesome and he very caring for his patients. This was my first time coming to him and I believe I have found my dentist for life. If anyone is looking for a GREAT DENTIST Leaf family dentistry is where you need to go. I personally give them 10 thumbs up and will recommend them to anyone.

Both my son, who is 2, and I see Dr. Richardson and I love it. Hes so patient with my son and the fact that he allows me to be in the room with him is a plus!! His staff is so nice and welcoming and also the scenery is bomb!. My son loves to see the cats and it puts him at ease while being in the chair. I always recommend Dr. Richardson to anyone I know who need dental work or just a dentist in general. You cant go wrong being a patient here.

I must say I was a bit skeptical upon my first arrival. After walking in the door I realized I was dealing with some of the most kind, caring, and down to earth people. The office was clean. The front desk staff is really friendly. The Dentist, Christopher is very professional and elaborates on everything that he tells you which is very helpful. Ive already scheduled my next visit and I plan on making Leaf my permanent dentist.

My experience was an overall an excellent one! It was dental work that wasnt exactly an easy or fast fix. It took some time and Dr. Richardson and his staff was with me every step, he made sure of that! He has given me my confidence in smiling again! I havent been able to fully smile for some time now! I would highly recommend his office for any work you need! My husband also had work done as well and is very pleased!

I love this place!! Everyone is so nice and they all greet with a smile. Front desk is very helpful and friendly. The Dr was very attentive to my questions and concerns. He also is very informative and help me understand every aspect of which of our visit. He did very good with my 6, 4, and 10 month old. I will refer my friends and family . ☺
