I basically found this hospital on the internet when I was looking for a vet hospital for my cat. I thought I would trust this hospital since many people have said good things about it in their review. Overall the hospital is very clean, the people were very nice, and they seemed like they were very careful with the pets. My cat seemed a little sick and this is what made me want to find a vet hospital. I brought my cat in for a grooming, for some blood work and also wanted them to see if there was anything wrong with my cats mouth because his teeth were yellow and he was slobbering a lot and did not eat very much at all. Everything turned out well, the doctor groomed the cat well, she did the blood work and found out that my cat had hyperthyroidism, and she also checked my cats mouth and did not find anything wrong. Hyperthyroidism was treatable and the doctor seemed very happy that is was only that and nothing else. So after a weeks worth of medication my cat turned out to be worse than he was a week before. The problem resided in his mouth area, where the doctors said it was fine. My sister is a dentist and beside her opened a new vet hospital that she wanted to get a second opinion. It turned out when the doctor over there looked at my cats mouth, he diagnosed it as mouth cancer, and the cancer has already eaten through half of his jaw. I am definitely not sure how the doctors at Richmond Avenue Animal Hospital did not find that. I had to put him to sleep the next day because the doctor beside my sisters workplace said they he was going through excruciating pain. I spent about 451 Dollars on my cat at Richmond Avenue Animal Hospital and it seemed like they just wanted my money, and did not care about my cat. I suspect that they hid the fact that he had mouth cancer from me, just to get my money.

We adopted a dog who had some problems and got loose off the lease. She had some injuries from running around fences and things, so we took her to this vet and informed the previous shelter in order to get any kind of help finding her. We eventually found her running through the neighborhood but experienced some cuts, so we took her to this vet based on advice from the shelter. This vet allowed the shelter to come in and steal our dog without even informing us. When we called the vet to ask when we should pick up our dog, they informed us that shes gone and to contact the shelter. What?!?!?! They never gave us an update on her recovery or what was going on. These people are nuts, and I would never trust any animal with them. If you care about your animal, do not take your dog there. We took amazing care of her and could not believe that our dog was stolen by these people. If you dont want the same thing to happen to you then dont take your pet here.

I am incredibly angry with the Richmond Avenue Animal Hospital. I really enjoyed the vet visit with Dr. Pipiringos, and that is the only reason it gets ONE star. I thought she was very caring and thorough. I am angry, however, because I left my dog boarded there for about three days. When I came to pick up my dog, I was slightly concerned as to why he wasnt leaping for joy to see me as he usually does. Once we got to the car, I noticed that his eye was swollen shut and there was a lot of thick fluid collecting around his eye. I took him right back in and asked that he be looked at. I absolutely can not believe that I left him with a VET and no one noticed the problem. My poor dog is SO SAD and pitiful, and the vet on duty said it was because he was in PAIN! They wouldnt even confirm what exactly was wrong with it! It is crystal clear that the techs are not attentive to the animals (or at least not to mine).

This place is terrible and I will never go back. I took time off work to drop our cat off in the morning on THREE separate occassions to get a simple urine sample to test for a UTI or other issues. Each time they could not get a sample for various excuses or mishandled the sample (spilled on the counter the third time apparently) after my cat had been there for 6 full hours. If they cant perform a simple procedure like this then I can only guess how they handle more complicated or life threatening conditions. In addition they had us pay a $60 exam fee + $30 for the urine sample on each visit, even though they failed to get a usable sample. After some harsh words the third time and making a scene they waived the $30 fee, but not the exam fee. What a scam... much happier at the vet down the street.

I found this place with a google search as I was looking to get an annual exam and shots for my cat. I called around to several places in the area, and all were about the same cost wise ($120-$150 for the exam and 2 booster shots - Rabies and FVRCP). I picked this place for the high ratings, which were well deserved! I called on Friday and was able to get an appointment for Saturday. I was in and out in under an hour. The staff was very friendly and very conscientious of my anxious kitty. They absolutely knew what they were doing, and I knew my cat and I were being well taken care of. The place was very clean (plus there were adorable kittens in the lobby!). Have already recommended to a friend looking for a vet, and will definitely return in the future!

We were having a tough time finding a vet we felt comfortable with since moving from Michigan so had some hesitation when we received yet another recommendation. We were so pleasantly surprised. Dr. Pipiringos was absolutely awesome as were the other staff members with whom we interacted. They greeted our pet by his name as he entered the building and showered him with lots of attention throughout his visit. What I appreciated most was that "Dr. P" did not dismiss our concerns and didnt sell us on products and tests that we didnt need. We will definitely be back! Thanks RAAH!!! :)

I called the pet hospital yesterday afternoon to see if they could see my Australian Shepherd on short notice - she needed staples to be removed rather urgently. They saw me that same afternoon. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Dr. Pipiringos took great care of us. Everybody there obviously loves pets - and let me tell you, thats not to be taken for granted! The place is clean, the atmosphere is warm and friendly. They have great art on the walls too! My dog and I will go back there; they will be our primiray veterinarian from now on.

The veterinarians and staff at Richmond Avenue Animal Hospital have been great to our family for the past few years! Every time we take our two dogs to either get a check-up or board, they are very caring and understanding with them. Both of our are shelter rescues and have their own issues (behavioral and medical) and Richmond Avenue really does handle them in the best ways possible. I have never had any issues with this vet office and always trust that my dogs are in great hands when we take them here.
