I was expecting a lot more from Dr. Watkins. At first it looked very promissing, nice clinic, a lot of staff, operating room, etc.. but he is just way too busy. I went for a condition I knew required a surgery in my eyelid, first day he asked questions and it seemed ok, after prescribing a new medication he gave me an explanation that it would help my eyelid, I went home and read the literature on that medicine, and none of that is mentioned, by the way it was expensive too, but I just gave it the benefit of the doubt. Second visit I waited 2 hours in the clinic to see him, he got to the room, didnt even greet, seemed that he didnt even remember the case, and told me it didnt go away and to come back in a week for surgery, "I did not need him to tell me it didnt go away, I could see the sty on my eyelid." I didnt need to wait 2 hours for that. I scheduled for the surgery and then, they canceled 2 more times and rescheduled me to their convenience, again the day of the surgery he acted like he was busy, just as he started the surgery he said that it was probably not going to work that I needed to see another doctor, and it didnt work, so if he knew why did he waisted my time and money, he could just have refered me since day 1 if he was not sure he could do anything.

I had cataract surgery from one of the best ranked doctors in Houston with an assumption that I would hve better far and near vision. Well- it did not happen. I went to Dr. Watkins on a recommendation of a coworker. He was very patient listening to my disappointment. He never criticized the other doctor but explained that the lens that was implanted was never intended to correct near vision. He said he cold not remove that lens because it had healed to well. At times I do have to wait to see him but when I had an eye infection, he took me right away and I had not waiting.

I got iLasik here last year. They led me through the process well and were very informative, not treating me like an idiot. I was impressed during my check-up visit when Dr. Watkins took the time to explain to me which eye-drops to avoid. He didnt tell me to buy this brand or that, he just explained the hazard of heavily using drops with certain additives. I have suggested this clinic to friends interested in getting the Lasik.
