First, Mr. Charles McGuills rating is ridiculous. He never met Dr. Starch, and yet gives him one star? You need to change this rating to be honest. I had a torn rotator cuff due to a being shot down in a helicopter in Vietnam in 1966. Over the years Ive spent time at the VA, with military and civilian doctors. No one has been able to help in nearly 50 years. Dr. Starch examined me, and scheduled an appointment for arthroscopic surgery. He did the surgery, and a couple of days later while I was in a sling I went to a BBQ cook off asset the VFW in New Braunfels. A very big guy came up to me and asked if I had rotator cuff surgery. I told him that I did, and he asked who performed it. I told him that it was Dr. Starch. He grinned and told me that he was the best. He had the same surgery about a year ago for a shoulder that had been very painful for years. Six months after the surgery he saw Dr. Starch and held his arm out straight from the shoulder. He asked Dr. Starch to hang from it, which he did - and had no pain. This Dr. its a miracle worker in my book. I will be needing a knee replacement before long, and guess who will be doing it?

Dr Starch has a PA that looked at my knee a week after surgery. I showed him one of the incisions had blood clots coming out of it, He said (good that means your blood is clotting). Put a patch on it, so I went home. Three days later I go to the ER because I could not breathe anymore. Dr put my in ICU and told me my lungs were full of blood clots. Two different Drs. told me that most people do not survive this and that I was very lucky to be alive. Had my blood tested and it was not my blood. Dr Starch did not even call me to this day.

Dr. Starch and his office are a little hard to get into, but once you have a chance to meet the doctor you will really like him. He spent the time to talk to me about my injury and the method in which we would work on correcting it. I never felt rushed.

I called to make an appointment for a possible broken collarbone from a fall off of a bike, but they told me that they do not take appointments due to an accident. That made no sense to me!! So obviously I couldnt use this Dr.
