Dr. Kansal recently took over the practice of the physician who had been our family’s eye doctor for over 40 years (Jerry Cotner, MD). I was a bit leery of starting with a new doctor, especially since Dr. Cotner really is a one-in-a-million provider. However, I quickly found that Dr. Kansal possessed every quality that kept me as a patient of Dr. Cotner for such a long time. Not only is Dr. Kansal an extremely knowledgeable physician, which is really a minimum requirement for me, but he is also extremely personable and really embodies what you would think when you hear the term “great bedside manner”. I recently had cataract surgery, and was a bit nervous. Dr. Kansal took the time to answer every one of my, and my husband’s, questions without us feeling rushed or hurried. The surgery turned out to be a relative breeze, as was my recovery. Through the process, I really got the feeling that I was a person and not just a pair of eyes, as well as the sense of being genuinely cared for as an individual. These are all qualities I found in Dr. Cotner, and I’m so please that Dr. Kansal arrived to receive the baton when Dr. Cotner retired. I’d recommend him without reservation.

I was hesitant when Dr. Cotner retired. I valued the time he took explaining what he saw as he examed my eyes. I truly wondered if Dr. Kansal was going to treat his patients with such care. Well, Dr. Kansal has and continues to treat his patients with care. I just went in for my second yearly checkup with Kansal and am over joyed. His knowledge of Marfan Syndrome and its effect on the structure of my eyes is on point. His kindness in the time he took was much appreciated. And his evident gratitude to Cotners patient base staying with him was refreshing to hear from a doctor. I highly recommend reaching out to his staff if you are looking for a great eye doctor.
