My wifes and my visit to Rockport TX Urgent Care was dreadful. Ultimately, the physician who saw us was excellent and issued two antibiotics as anticipated. Experiences before and after seeing the physician and the clinic manager were impossible. 1) forget their on-line appointment booking, it doesnt work 2) ignore the in-office screen that tells you who will be treated when. Many patients came and went while we were shown as next to be seen. 3) I had to forcefully insist we be seen, despite having a confirming e-mail with appointment time. The office manager was rude and unhelpful insisting we refer to the screen. She gave us times that we would be seen and we continued to be ignored. 4) As noted above, the physician was fine when we finally saw him. 5) We were told his prescriptions had been sent directly to Walgreens. When we arrived at Walgreens, they had my wifes prescription but not mine (no doubt, retribution for being assertive at the clinic). It took an hour of phone calls to Victoria TX and Arizona to resolve this problem. 6) Never sign up for Next Care. We were advised that an MD visit was $300 (it was about $100 the previous year) or....we could buy a three month Next Care policy that would cover this visit and then, within the three months, cancel the policy avoiding subsequent $30/month premiums. I did this, received e-mails confirming the policies had been cancelled and all our financial information removed from Next Cares databases. Three month later, Next Cares $30 monthly charges appeared on our bank statement. Resolving this with our bank and getting a block on any future Next Care charges took another several hours. We will never deal with either of these companies again, no matter the urgency.

Several of our family members and friends have HAD to use this facility at one time or another as it is the only walk in clinic in Rockport. I have NEVER heard one good thing in all of their experiences. Myself, my daughter and grandchildren and even my mother and 2 sisters have been there in just the last couple of months. We are finished using this center. We all were left waiting anywhere from 1.5 hours up to 3 hrs just to get into a room, and many of those visits, we were maybe one of two of the groups waiting. Once seen by the dr., and there have obviously been several between all of us, they only stayed in the room for what felt like seconds. I was written twp prescription, both of which I had told the dr. and filled out in my paperwork, that i was ALLERGIC too and could NOT TAKE! His diagnois was also incorrect. I have a pinched nerve in my neck with referred pain down my arm and he gave me a diagnosis of a sprained shoulder and prescribed meds I should not be taking. The dr. did not listen to my symptoms and had a preconceived idea of what was wrong and ignored me completely. This place is obviously mismanage! They have no concept of what good customer service is. Its a giant cash register and all they care about is taking your money. We will never go back. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.

Unfortunately this office has become an Urgent Care facility and therefore bills differently. They changed owners back in May of last year ( 2016) and did not notify already existing patients. This make insurance coverage different, which in turn cost me a lot of extra money. They were not very helpful or nice when I was trying to understand the reason for a high bill. Make sure you check with your insurance on Urgent Cares change from primary billing to urgent care billing. Please check your insurance! This place has long wait times and a few unfriendly staff members. My husband and daughter have the same insurance. What cost my husband nothing for his doctor visit cost my daughter 179.00---they had the same diagnosis. My husbands bill was covered in full, due to it being from a medical facility while my daughters was considered differently and went to deductible. This difference is because this company is now considered an "Urgent Care",which causes the billing to be different. Please dont be fooled by this new billing from their company.

I read all the reviews prior to visiting the Rockport Urgent Care and was very hesitant to go there. My visit was nothing like the bad reviews. Due to a lot of medical issues, I spend a lot of time in doctors offices so unfortunately, I have a lot of experience with wait times, rude staff, etc. Rockport Urgent Care was great. I was in an out in a little more than an hour and my prescription was faxed to the pharmacy for me. The staff was all very pleasant as well as the doctor. The facility is new and very clean. I had no complaints whatsoever. For what its worth, I have never come across an Urgent Care facility that presents itself as like an Emergency Room. Some may have extended hours but I have never seen one open 24 hours. The advantage of an Urgent Care facility is typically weekend hours, extended evening hours, and not having to make an appointment / walk in. Also, they do not bill the same as an Emergency Room. I would definitely return to the Rockport Urgent Care facility if I need their services again in the future.

I went in on Friday, June 23rd, 2017 to see about a stopped up right ear. I have always had wax problems so I knew I needed to have my ear flushed. After waiting over an hour to see Dr. Alsop, he looked in my right ear and immediately told me that I didnt have a wax problem, but had experienced acute hearing loss and to seek a ears specialists. I told him that I was sure it was wax and he snapped back at me and said, "you dont have a wax problem, you have acute hearing loss and gave me a steroid shot and prescribed some steroid pills to take. I got back home on Monday and made an appointment with the specialists. He looked in my ear and said that I had a build up of wax on my eardrum and thats why I cant hear! He flushed it and I can hear again! He couldnt believe that the Dr. did not see the wax and flushed my ear on the spot. Instead I went the whole weekend not being able to hear out of my right ear. I paid over $200 for a mis-diagnosis and was miserable the whole weekend. I feel I should be refunded for this.

Went in yesterday morning as soon as they opened; the receptionist was extremely polite and helpful, and even though she forgot to give me back my license when I left, she noticed immediately and called me to return for it, she even brought it out for me. Since I was a new patient, payment protocol was FULLY explained before I even filled out paper work. Vitals were taken by the nurse within 20 minutes. She was polite and very thorough in her questioning. About 10 minutes later I was seen by the doctor and given options for my recovery. The doctor was amazingly kind and addressed every single one of my concerns. All in all I was in the clinic for just over an hour. From what I saw, the building is immaculate, better maintained than other urgent care centers Ive been to in the past. It has been 24 hours and I am feeling much better thanks to the kind, knowledgeable staff at the Rockport Urgent Care Facility. I could not have picked a better place to go to for fast, reliable care!
