Pick a different doctors office. Front desk was friendly, yet slow to get things going. I was not called back until 2 hours after my appointment time, then waited another 30 minutes or so until the doctor came in. Lack of respect for peoples time. The doctor could have had a better "bedside manner". Instead of being friendly, helpful, informative, patient, etc, he chose to be quick to answer, made me feel rushed, didnt let me explain things or he would even cut me off before a finished sentence to answer. The only question he took the time to ask me was "why do you have so many health issues so young? " Kind of rude. My anxiety literally peaked trying to talk to him. In one example, I was telling him about my leg cramps and how I was recently prescribed liquid potassium because my levels were very low and how it makes me throw up and I wanted potassium in a pill form. He literally cut me off at the end and said "I dont know anything about that" umm okay...like, what? What does that mean? Just nevermind I guess....? Felt like some of my issues were addressed (the referrals I needed and such) however my immediate needs were not all met.

Okay my teenage son hasnt seen this dr. Gilbert Melendez yet and is schedule for an upcoming appointment. I saw the reviews that people gave him. I can tell you one thing all doctors in San Antonio, Texas including Clinics do take 2 to 3 hours for waiting and even up to 4 hours. I dont know why??? Its not like the 1970s or 1980s where the doctors saw you and did not even give you a chance to explain your pain, then off you went, disappointed! San Antonio, Texas has grown tremendously since then. Now the time to see a doctor or even wait in line for service, drive thru, etc. is outrages now a days. I been there and done that. So be happy that the doctor did see you and listen to you, cause you gonna have to wait just like everybody else. My son will see the doctor on his appointment and I will rate and review him. Thanks for the time to read this. My son finally saw the doctor and it did take 2 plus hours. He did listen and was nice. This doctor does not recommend or give pain prescriptions. I would give him a average star for listening.

Dr. Melendez was rude to me on my first visit. Then he did not explain what he he was doing. I told him my sons were Hispanic and that changed. He hasbeen nicesince Nd even fun but I always have a long wait, and the staff just blows you off. I take a peticular med for fibromyalgia that is also an antidepressant been out for a time now it is causing issues with brain zaps. Due to them slacking on their job. I will be contacting medicare to get my precious plan back.

I go to this place but the only thing i dislike is that theres is only one nurse who is very kind and the rest can be rude when either theyre frustrated or having a bad day. They do take long, up to like 3-4 hours of waiting. its better to go an hour before your appt to get out faster. Doctor Melendez is a good doctor only thing is that he can take long time as well, you take long in seeing the doctor and getting called in than what you take in getting out...

Ive been at this clinic since I was a toddler im 25 now... Its always been great and comfortable going to Dr.Melendez office but the new ppl at the front desk I wouldnt even say secretarys, are NO GOOD! Got 0 help from them and they couldnt even answer any questions on phone ir in person... Dr. Melendez is a great doctor has always helped our family and now helps my own daughter BUT THOSE GIRLS YOU GOT IN THE FRONT DESK GO TO GO!!

Worst doctor ive ever gone to. First appointment waited for about 3 hours to be called to the room and another hour before dr showed up in the room to waste about 10 minutes. Second visit was just for blood work and waited almost 2 hours just to get blood drawn. 2 weeks later still havent received any results on blood work. Dr has the results but hasnt reviewed them. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND to go here

This is one of the best, if not the best Dr! Wait times are typical for any doctors office but Dr. Melendez makes any wait time worth it. He actually looks for the cause of your issues rather than slapping a bandaid on it!!!!
