My dad just left this place and we were not impressed at all. He was transferred here from a smaller hospital because he was having a hard time breathing and the small town hospital thought it could possibly be a pulmonary embolism. He went straight into the ICU for monitoring. He stayed there for two full days and they barely did anything in there. 1) They did one CT scan and gave him two bags of fluid and drew blood maybe three times. The second morning of the stay, two different financial ladies came in to hound him about payment because he doesnt have insurance. They were so pushy and rude I could not believe how insensitive they could be. They told him that after less than 12 hours of being there that he already owed $9,000 and wanted to know if he would be able to put a $3,000 down payment up upon discharge. As soon as they figured out that workmans comp was going to cover the stay they started sending in surgeons to consult. 2) The hospital staff did only the minimum they possibly could so they could get him out of there. The doctors were rude and insensitive, not to mention every time we asked them a question they would not give us a direct answer, they all skated around the question and asked us the same questions over and over again because no one was communicating with anyone else. One of the surgeons, I dont know his name, came in and said it was a tumor on his adrenal gland and then answered his phone and walked out without giving any other information. We finally had to ask two different doctors and the nurses before we got a straight answer out of them. They told him they were going to discharge him but he would need to seek a specialist immediately to get the tumor removed. They gave us no referrals. They didnt want to do the removal surgery because he had no insurance. Later that day I was leaving the ICU to get food and I heard the first rude surgeon say "Man, this guy is totally f**ked up." I dont know if he was talking about my dad or not but it is still extremely rude. Overall, I would not recommend this hospital because of their shady business practices and insensitive staff. Also, the hospital appears to be a bit older and not as clean as a hospital should be. When we were finally moved into a regular room, there were splatter marks of some kind of unidentified substance all over the wall. gross. If at all possible please stay away from this hospital.

When I was much younger, in my teens, I was stuck in the behavioral health unit for over a week. This place was a complete joke. The groups were lacking and completely unhelpful as most of the time the repeated the same information over and over again each day. The rooms were awful, almost like living in a prison...when you are trying to help people get better, why would you stick them in a place that even glancing at it causes depression?! The nurses had no empathy and barely interacted with the patients- it was clear they were avoiding it as much as possible when a nurse refused to even acknowledge me when I was trying to ask her a question. To top it all off my doctor assigned to me sexually harassed me and when I reported it everyone called me a liar and he held me there another 2 or 3 days. I was so happy to finally get out of that place (after waiting almost 2 hours downstairs for god knows what) but its sad to know it only made me come out even more distrustful and disgusted with the mental healthcare system. This place needs to be shut down. Less than a year ago I received a check in the mail from them from a lawsuit of some sort about personal records of patients being exposed or something. So not only can they not provide decent care for their patients, but they cant even protect their information...pathetic.

They were pretty nice at first but then after I gave them Haven for Hopes address, they changed their tune pretty quick from friendly to extremely condescending and nasty. The nurse I received *Tom* didnt want to do his job where I was concerned. After the doctor ordered 2 bags of Sodium Chloride to be administered to me because I was facing severe dehydration on top of the stomach flu, he left me in the room without checking in on me and I was stuck hooked up for 1 hour more than I should have been. I actually had to find someone else to unhook me. It was 20 minutes until my shift at work started and I needed to call to give them my job a heads up. I asked the administrator and the nurses and even the dr. to borrow their phone to make a quick phone call to my job since I didnt have any service on my cell but was basically told from everybody that it was too bad that I am about to lose my job because I didnt prepare and call before coming to the ER. I asked for the paperwork to give my job so I have proof to show I wasnt just playing hookie. They refused to give that to me too. Was terminated from my job because of the lack of customer service and a moderate amount of incompetence I received at this hospital. Go to University, Methodist or heck Baptist but try to avoid Nix if you have the opportunity to do so!

DISGUSTING. So un-sanitary. The nurses in the little office area were eating, and apparently one dropped something on her phone a LICKED her PHONE and fingers. When they came to see me, none of them were wearing gloves. I have massive anxiety and my psychiatrist told me to either take a prescribed Xanax or get a shot of it to subdue it otherwise I would not cooperate. I was not in the mental state to be dealt with so I asked for it and the doctor refused. It was very hard to cooperate with them because they were un-empathetic as well physical and mental health are equally important. You should also make your patients comfortable so maybe they will calm down!!!!! Instead he was very annoyed and had a very "whatever" you just have a cold....take ibuprofen approach. He might as well said "whatever... we will just give you fluids... and maybe take blood...". Un-compassionate, unprofessional people like that should not be in the medical field!!! That is one of the things they SHOULD teach you in med school!!!! I walked straight out of there. No way were they going to touch me!

I arrived at 7:30 complaining of severe cramps and spotting. Im pregnant. They did not see me until a hour and 37 minutes later. I was told to walk myself to the last room. And wait tk be seen. Which i did. After 2 minutes a nurse came in started to take my vitals and then left during my blood pressure test. She later came back to finish, and take down my vitals. After about 5 minutes a man came in took blood. Which still as in writing this review hurts. Any movements hurts and my arm is swollen from the iv. I got to speak to the doctor 30 minutes later for about 3 minutes and then nothing. It is now 10:42 three hours and 12 minutes later. I have not gotten any updates. And not once have they offered to do a sonogram. This is ky first pregnancy and of course im worried but, the nurses and doctors seem to not care. I even got up myself to ask how much longer and they responded "i dont know" at this point im done with this hospital. And if you have read this till now. Please try and visit a different hospital. Its bad.
