I am in my middle 60’s. I have been going to Vitalogy Skincare for couple years. Before I note my negative experiences I want to say I liked Dr Chavez and Gilbert very much, as well as most of folks at their offices. I did not care for Dr Sayed, as I sensed almost immediately an insincerity and all about the money person. When I first went to Vitalogy many issues were “discovered” that needed treatment, however they would only do them in inconvenient separate office visits. When I asked why separate visits, I was told that was how they maximized their insurance payments. How much sense does that make for the patient or insurance company? Anyway I had new insurance that I thought covered everything 100%. My fault being that I misunderstood the agent, which had a huge deductible. By the time I figured it out I had a significant bill, that despite insurance, I owed 100% of. I was unemployed and not yet on SS, so I called Vitalogy billing and explained my situation and started making payments. Before Christmas was drawing near I called and told them that I couldn’t pay anything for couple months as I needed to go see my kids out of state. By then I had the debt down below $800.00. Keep in mind the total was inflated to begin with due to their multiple visit policy. When I got back in January I had a collection agency letter demanding the balance. I was so angry I called Vitalogy billing who did not have any memory of my call, notes etc. and said after so many days they auto send to collections. I wrote a letter directly to Dr Chavez and asked billing dept. where the best place to send it was. In any case I never got an answer. Folks these people run a skin care factory that is making significant money by churning people through with very high fees and multiple visits. The fact Dr. Chavez either did not get my letter or ignored it is more gas on the fire. Finally when I went to local barber shop with guys my age and told my story, two other men sitting there chimed in about similar billing issues and the multiple visit program. They said they had quit going there and found new Doctors. That is now my goal as well.

Wife had 2 visits for a wart removal. 1st visit was for the biopsy only (evidently), 2nd was supposed to be for the treatment. Paid their $80 co pay each time. No follow up after the biopsy, just a bill for what the insurance didnt cover. At the second visit, the doctor could not articulate a clear treatment plan, nor a cost associated with any of them. The office staff was absolutely no help, and less than professional to say the least. Over $300 later, and still no treatment or relief. Terrible experience !

Horrible communication and customer service. They called me at 4:15 the day before my appt at 8:30 in the morning I made a year earlier at my last appt. I was able to get the time off from work at the last minute. Then the next morning 30 minutes before Im supposed to be at my appt they call to cancel. Now I have to reschedule and use sick time to make up for the time I missed for my canceled appt and my future appt. I will be calling around for a new dermatologist! Dont waste your time making an appt here.

Needed to have a cyst removed and told them up front but still had to see Sayed first. $103 for a two minute visit with her. Went back a week later for the removal. Less than 5 minutes with Dr. Meade cost over $800. Third visit to remove 4 stitches will be another $103. First time was shame on them. Second time was shame on me. Wont be a third time. Small wonder why insurance costs so much.

Was seen by the PA, Gilbert maybe, and when I say seen thats all, he didnt even get close enough to touch my skin and claimed I had severely sun damaged skin only and then gave me a prescription for some very expensive rx strength cortisone cream. After obtaining a second opinion by an MD highly recommended by my family doctor, l am now being treated for a rare skin condition!

Awesome staff that I met during my appt. So pleased as a walk in pt with no insurance . Jenny (front desk ) was able to fit me in the schedule same day! When I was called back, Tracy (medical assistant) made me feel like I was at the right place for my situation! Dr. Gilbert was awesome and answered all my concerns, talking to him made me feel so much better! Thank you !

They will go out of their way to hustle and use you. Dr. Sayed will come in and chat but then leave and have her nurses work on you. I had to come in multiple times for a simple wort without any success and I ended up going to CVS to buy a wort remover with much more success.

Extremely high office fees. So much higher than the national average, insurance wouldnt pay the $400 to freeze off two warts on hand...and it didnt work! Find another dermatology office. BEWARE
