Have been going to Dr. Whiteley for 10+ years. I do agree with other reviews that the front end staff have been rude and getting seen anywhere near your scheduled appointment was a rarity, during some of my past visits. Im happy to report that my visit in January 2014 was outstanding. I called in early on a Monday morning and was able to secure an appointment 4 hours later. When I entered, the receptionist was pleasant but was asking for money within 10 seconds of my arrival, having not looked to see if I had a HRA, which she did after I mentioned it. I had to explain what an HRA was on a previous visit and then get a check back from them so this is a hot spot for me that they dont automatically look for this before asking for money. I was taken to the dreaded scale 5 minutes after my scheduled appt. time so that was great timing. The nice assistant took some vitals, asked me some very probing government required questions and off she went. About 5 minutes later, Dr. Whitely entered the room. Always a nice, comforting presence which is great when you are ailing. He asks questions and listens very well. We talked through potential causes, what the body is doing, and next steps in getting a complete diagnosis. He wrote some scripts and has a very convenient system that automatically sends the scripts to a pharmacy of your choice, you just drive up and get them, no paper. He mentioned that they now use a patient portal and my diagnosis will be available there, unless it is something serious in which he promised to call. The overall discussion was quick but not rushed, and as always started and ended with a hand shake. I used to live in Tomball but now live a considerable distance away but will continue to drive to Tomball for my health needs.

I have been a patient of Dr. Whiteleys for over 2 years. The Doctor and Nurse practitioner are pleasant but the staff is not. I have no doubt it is due to the Office manager Leah who is rude and condescending. It became obvious that she did not know her job when I had to deal with her about an insurance issue. Instead of her getting a hold of my insurance to work out the issue, she said I was committing insurance fraud. And that she did not want to do the necessary paperwork to fix the problem until I called my insurance to see what they said. After talking with my insurance I realized this woman didnt know her job and uses bulling tactics to cover up the fact that she is incompetent. She would not answer my questions and got frustrated and hung up on me. I called right back and let her know that she needed to go back to school for patient sensitivity and customer service, that obviously she has never mastered those skills. I requested that Dr. Whiteley call me back to discuss the lack of customer service and he has still yet to do so. Needless to say the issue was resolved once I called Blue Cross and they were wonderful. This woman took a simple situation and blew it up into a battle. All because she didnt want to do her job. Needless to say I will be looking for another Doctor, one who can control his staff better than this one does. Oh and dont EVER expect a pleasant interaction with the admission staff. I doubt she has smiled at a customer in years.

I wish I would have read these reviews before signing up with this Doctor and his office. Sooo true that his staff is rude, disinterested and incompetent. The office manager is his wife and Leah is second in command. Leah is Dr. Whiteleys sister-in-law. Neither one of them seem to care about all of the errors. I filled out forms before my first appointment to transfer records from previous doctor. Not only were the records not in their possession, I was accused of never filling out the forms. Was told that I needed 3 different appointment to accomplish a well woman, physical and bloodwork (per my insurance company). NOT, they were wrong and all could be done on one appointment. Many other mistakes. When I complained about the incompetence (which keep in mind was me complaining about his wife and sister-in-law as well as the staff), Dr. Whiteley resigned as my doctors. He spent more time talking about himself in my appointments than I feel he focused on me. Avoid, avoid, and avoid this medical office.

Stay away from this place, save your money. I had to wait two hours to see this doctor for literally 5 minutes, and I had an appointment. They requested an x-Ray at another location, which I did and then waited a few days for a call to give me the results. No one called. I then decided to call and ask for the results and was told that the doctor will not call me back unless there was a serious issue. Well.....what the hell constitutes a serious issue? I just wanna know whats wrong. You kinda expect a doctor to tell you what the problem is if you pay so much money. To this day......nothing. I call it a legal way to rob people. oh yeah, I gave them my insurance with an HRA and they still charged me because the girl in the front did not know how it worked. I paid then I had to call my insurance company and have them speak with the agent, then they voided my payment and charged to to my HRA. The choice is yours, but be warned.

Doctor Whiteley is a wolf in sheeps wool. He comes across as a good old boy, but dont let him fool you. He could care less about what his patients have to say. I have compared him to Dr. House, on the TV series. He doesnt believe anything you say. Never responds to questions on his "portal", which is a joke in and of itself. Ive written letters and received no responses. He accused me of being a no-show for an appointment in September and I provided him with a copy of my phone records showing I called a week before and was on the phone for 14 minutes with his office. Not only that he has no idea what goes on in his own office or with his staff. When I have got a response it was from his sister Leah, who runs the computer system. His response was he was the doctor, not her, so why didnt he call or respond??? Stay away from this office if you want competent, professional care, as you wont get it here.

Dr. Whiteley is the best doctor I have ever seen and his entire staff is great. I was suffering an illness that other doctors were not able to diagnose and he made the correct diagnosis after just talking with me and examining me. The other doctors did not take near the amount of time Dr. Whiteley took with me. He was very thorough. He helped me to schedule with expert specialists he knew personally and he reassured me throughout a difficult treatment for the rare condition he had diagnosed. He saved my life! My entire family now uses him. My wife and I both also occasionally see his nurse practitioner for our visits. She is also wonderful and always takes all the time we need on our visits. His office staff is courteous and professional. No other doctor has ever come close to being as friendly and professional as Dr. Whiteley. I hope he never retires because I want him as my primary care doctor forever!
