Quite possibly Dr Martinez is an excellent doctor. I originally saw her for a skin abnormality which ended up being nothing serious. HOWEVER... while there, I asked about Botox which I had done atwice before in a different city, with excellent results. First of all, she pushed me to do more than I wanted (add my forehead to the lines between eyes) which of course cost double, and also to buy specific products carried in her office. Then the injections failed to have much effect on the lines between my eyes and instead paralyzed my forehead to the point that my eye lids sagged. When I went back (in tears) I was told - and I quote - "Well you do have deep set eyes". I apply make up daily. I know where the usual creases are on my face are and they arent there. It took a month for my eyes to get back to normal - and the lines I wanted erased never went away (I know they can because prior treatments have worked amazingly well). Dr Martinez and her staff will make you feel horrible - dont give them your cosmetic dollars.

I went here with some skin issues and had to have some things removed. Dr. Martinez was OK, and she did address the skin issues and the removal of some problem areas went fine. HOWEVER, her rates are OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPESIVE compared to the level of service and quality of service. There were no take home instructions, there was little customer service, and the staff members are RUDE. I spoke with one of my coworkers after getting service at Dr. Martinez office- (she had a similar condition that she got treated elsewhere) I was shocked to find that she paid about $800 less for the same thing! I probably would feel fine paying these outrageous rates and being treated like a dollar sign if the service levels were up to par with what you pay for- but they arent. With the rude staff and a sick feeling after leaving (and then getting another bill in the mail from Dr. Martinez for an additional $600) I will not be going back. Bee Caves Dermatology will rob you blind if you are a cash patient.

I was a patient of Dr. Martinez for a few years and went in for a variety of reasons. Each time I went in, her office staff was always kind and professional as was Dr. Martinez. What I particularly liked about Dr. Martinez was that she took the time to listen, ask questions and explain her diagnosis and treatment plan, instead of half listening and scribbling out a prescription like so many other doctors do. I was really disappointed when my employer switched insurance providers and I had to find a new dermatologist. With my record request Dr. Martinez included a really nice note, thanking me for being a patient and wishing me the best. Of all the doctors I’ve had, Dr. Martinez and her entire staff (from the front staff to the nurses) have been beyond helpful, knowledgeable and competent. I really enjoyed being a patient of Bee Caves Dermatology and hope one day my insurance will allow me to return.

I have been a patient of Dr. Martinez for over 10 years. In this time she has treated me for a number of skin conditions and has administered several cosmetic treatments, as well. I have always been extremely pleased with the results. Dr. Martinez and her staff are professional, knowledgeable, compassionate and always make me feel welcome when I call or walk through the door. I leave knowing that my every concern has been addressed and that I have received the highest level of care possible. Several years ago, I decided to try a dermatologist that was more conveniently located to my office, but I was very displeased with the results. Now I gladly make the drive to Bee Caves in order to see Dr. Martinez. I have referred a number of family and friends to her office and everyone has always been very pleased with the care they have received. I think she is great and you will too!

11/30/11 - More interested in $$$ than in providing compassionate care. My 1st experience with Dr. M was good. She removed a mole that was a melanoma and referred me to another Dr. to have it removed. On 2nd visit she removed another large mole which was benign but she left a rather large scar. Final straw, my son had been seeing her for acne on his torso which is painful. He had run out of medication (which he has taken for 2 months with no side effects) and she (or her receptionist) said she wouldnt even talk to him or give him a partial Rx to get him through until the appt. time which he has scheduled in a week. This to me shows an inferior level of care for her patients and little compassion as well. I feel she is more interested in getting paid for another office visit than in helping her patient. So we are now looking for another Dr.

I have been a patient since 2003! Dr. Martinez is thorough and compassionate. She saved my life - found my melanoma and now I go every 6 months for a skin check. I have always had a great experience with her and her staff. I have only had to wait a few times when they have had emergencies otherwise they are always on time. I would never change derms because I want to see a doctor when I go to the doctor and at this office I always do. Cant recommend highly enough.

Dr. Martinez and her staff are warm, caring, and very helpful. Each time I visit the office I feel welcomed by her staff. Dr. Martinez is extremely knowledgeable in her field and I know that my skin is getting the best level of care. If you need a dermatologist or are hunting for a new one give their office a call, you will not be let down.

my husband has severe eczema that spread like wildfire through his entire body.In seeing Dr. Martinez she immediately was able to pinpoint the problem and treat it once diagnosed. This immediate care kept my husband from being treated at the hospital thus, saving us tons of money! :D thanks Dr. Martinez

Mary and her staff are kind, efficient and run a tight ship! In over 10 years, I can only remember two times I waited beyond my appointment time! Not to mention she keeps me looking young!!

Dr. Martinez seems more concerned with how she is going to get paid than with diagnosis and treatment. There are much better dermatologists in Austin, look around.
