This place was great, until my husband got done with detox. Now that hes out of detox and in the program its more like hes in jail. Visitation is on Saturdays and Sundays. I work every weekend. I cant ask for a weekend off because we are short staffed. Got to love the medical field. My husband was told on a Friday it would probably be ok for me and my kids to go up on a Monday and see him. I was already 2 1/2 hours into the drive when I got the call from him saying they just told him no. Since I was already close, I kept going hoping for a change. I shouldnt have expected them to be understanding. When me and my 3 little children got there, we met my husband outside where the Executive Director was already in his truck watching my husband and waiting on us to arrive. He did not make the situation any better. Instead he told me not to call corporate, he was very rude to my husband about "the rules", and honestly just pissed me off even more. After he told us we could sit outside and let my kids hug their dad for a few minutes he left and staff on golf carts pulled up. They stayed a few feet back but I could still hear the girls talking crap. We ended up leaving after maybe 3 minutes to avoid any other problems. Now I get the call today that Right Steps allowed someone else to have a full hour of visitation on a Wednesday. But what about the rules?? I honestly wish I wouldve taken my husband somewhere else. Somewhere that has better visitation and better staff. Not everyone can have a Saturday or Sunday off. Why theres not 1 day during the week that family can visit is beyond me! I thought this was going to be the place that helped my husband get better. Now I feel like all this stress that theyre causing is going to set him off and he will relapse as soon as he gets out. They are very good at pretending in order to get you in there. I loved admissions and he did good in detox. After that its all been down hill. As long as they get paid though I guess.

I am a staff person at this facility. I have worked here since July 2012. I have worked at many facilities, both inpatient and outpatient. I have worked in several states, and with both substance abuse and mental health populations. This facility is by far the best one. On every level, it is above average. Operating on an inside perspective, I see staff working with many different challenges, both from clients and the stressors that an inpatient treatment center brings, and doing a stellar job of it!! We currently have myself and 6 other counselors, working with approx. 60 bed capacity milieu. About half of our counseling and direct care staff are in recovery themselves and bring life experience to the table as well as formal education. Some of them even went through treatment here!! We provide daily therapy groups, daily educational and life skills groups, gender specific groups 2x weekly and a weekly family workshop. This is in addition to daily immersion into and education on 12 step philosophy, time with personal counselors, and family sessions. Our environment is conducive to freedom and peace. We sit on an open campus, and are spread out, with living quarters in several separate "cabins" and several spaces for socializing and activities during free time. If you need to go for a walk and clear your head or go for a morning jog, you can. We are not a locked unit and we are not a hospital like setting. I think we do a great job and are blessed to see people progress in their journey here. We even get visits from former clients pretty regularly, coming back to tell us how well theyre doing. If youre thinking about coming here, you should come take a tour and see it for yourself.

I used for 10 yrs! Thanks to this counseling staff & meetings I havent had the need to alter my state of mind!! My sobriety date is 12/2/12. If you want to save your life, stop fighting and stay open minded! The staff can guide you by sharing their knowledge about this disease! Thanks for this gift! My story 12/2/12 (before Right Step treatment) My daily drug habit was at $100. Always behind on bills and living in a 70s run down trailer. unemployable!!! Egotistical, selfish, unhygenic and immature at the age of 33. The worst part is I lied to myself. I didnt see any of these thing till right step showed me. 2/24/17 Own and Opperate my 3yr HVAC company!(I always dreamed of when I was using:( ) Once right step transformed my prospective on life, things got better and better. Its true!! When you get to treatment, Wright down your wishlist of things you want in your life, youll get MUCH more than everything on the list !! As long as Im sober thing keep progressing for the good. I love you guys!!! If your ready to do everything they ask. The only thing you need to do is put it in action!

I cannot say enough great things about TRS in Wimberly. I desperately needed help with my alcoholism and was lucky enough to know of the Right Step. I was admitted, assessed, full physical w the doc, and then started the medically supervised detox. After 4 days of detox I got to participate in the program which goes from 7:30 AM until 9 PM. It is a 28 day intensive course on how to start living the rest of your life in a healthy, productive and HAPPY way. The accommodations, staff and food are all top notch. I followed the recommendations of daily AA meetings for 90 days, to the best of my ability, after treatment. I still go to 3 or 4 meetings a week and plan to for life. I have no doubt in my mind that the Right Step saved my life. I am grateful everyday for having had it as a resource to start my "new life." I still am in contact with my counselor and visit the campus to see everyone when I am in the area. I have over a year clean and sober and every day is a new gift now. Thank you to the Right Step!!

I just entrusted the staff at "The Right Step" with my most prize possession, my husband. The admission staff was very helpful, and thoughtful. They answered my multiple calls and questions. They even understood our natural delays in regards to arrival. It was hard for him to volunteer to be apart from me and it was so hard to leave the love of my life there but Ashley and Kira made it easier for us both. So far everything has been great, my husband just got admitted yesterday but has called and said he feels good about the facility so far. I will continue to update this review. 06/07/2016

I had a family member who recently received treatment at Right Step Hill Country. The staff there was caring and passionate about what they do. And, it shows. I found them to be supportive in every step of the way throughout the recovery process. I highly recommend the Right Step for anyone that needs help and support in their journey to recovery. Terry and Staff give one hundred and fifty percent to each and every person that walks through the door. Thanks again for everything that you have done. Our family would not be the same without you!
