Just after my baby was born we realized that she would cry every time we touched her back, and that soothing didnt help that much. Our midwife told us that Dr. Makin could definitely help with that. We took our daughter in when she was 4 days old. He very gently adjusted her, which was not her favorite thing, but did wonders. As he was adjusting her, her hip and shoulder on her left side both popped. Babies dont usually pop when adjusted because their bodies and joints are so loose. When Dr. Makin finished the adjustment our baby relaxed enough to finally lay her arms to her side or raise them above her head. She had always kept them very tight to her body and hated when we moved them to get her dressed. She was a different baby after we got her adjusted. Just recently we went back to see Dr. Makin as our little girl, now 4 months, would not stay on her back and would scream if you left her there. She also would randomly scream while you were holding her. My aunt, who is a massage therapist, noticed this and mentioned that she could feel that tightness in our little ones hip. We brought her back in, to get her hips adjusted and once again she is so much happier, more relaxed, and sleeps so much better. If you are worried about getting your baby "chiropracted" as I like to say, Dr. Makin is super gentle on babies (although they do cry as its not so comfortable) and birth is not the gentlest experience on babies or their bodies... and I would say neither is being a baby. Give it a try because your baby will be safe and it might just give you your baby back.

Ohmigosh! This place is A-MAkin-AZING! You see, my feet hurt. Theyve been hurting for almost a year now. My hip was injured a few times—while ice skating and in a couple of hard falls—and now the joint is twisted and tilted all wrong and it pulls everything else out of alignment. Ive been to a few good chiropractors in Arizona who thought they could fix it, but when Ive left their offices, it still wasnt fixed. Ive even offered homemade cookies to anyone who could get me lined up correctly again. A few months ago, I made another attempt to be properly adjusted but the “consultation” ended up being with a fraudulent scheister who showed me an x-ray that was *not* of my spine, and tried to tell me I had scoliosis and that he could fix it for a thousand dollars. I don’t, and he couldn’t and I ran away fast. So this is what Ive been through, but I’m no cynic. I was referred to Utah Spine & Sport by someone who not only had a wonderful experience herself, but cares about how I’m doing and wants me to get better. As for my experience at this office: After a nice thorough massage and a few moments of poking around, Dr. Makin described the things that were going wrong in my body. Every single thing he mentioned was what I have been feeling. He adjusted me from head-to-toe, too, not just my hip. To top it off, he gave me exercises to do and other recommendations so that I can help with my own healing. Clearly, I owe Dr. Makin some cookies! My feet still hurt, but I am a patient person. A patient person with a new chiropractor! =D

These guys are awesome! Whether you are injured in a car accident or a serious athlete, theyve got you covered. Dr. Makin knows his stuff! and his staff is very friendly and super caring. My kids (ages 6,4,2) even love going to the chiropractor because of the sweet, caring staff, and the kid friendly environment they provide. Dr. Makin and his staff have helped me and my family recover when we were in a car accident and with injury prevention during my marathon training periods, even up to training for, and running the Boston marathon 2017. Dr Makin is great at what he does, and he is super knowledgeable with the body and recovery/healing process. His massage therapists— Brittney Light specifically, is incredible!! If you are an athlete GO SEE HER! She and Dr. Makin were both key factors in my training and with injury adherence and prevention. Brittney is very kind and sweet, and easy to be around (no one wants an awkward massage), she is also very knowledgeable when it comes to training (shes an ironman athlete herself) and how the muscles work in training and recovery. I would recommend Brittney Light and Utah Spine and Sport to anyone!!

I was 3 weeks out from a 50 mile trail race. I had just reached the peak of my training when to my worst fear my left I.T. band felt tight. From my past experience I knew I needed help asap. It can go from tight to very painful in a couple of miles. A fellow runner had told about Dallis Makin so I made the call and got my first appointment. Dr. Makin was so awesome! He did some muscle testing and helped me to know what muscles needed extra stretching and others that needed to be strengthened. He did the adjustment and explained how the supplement Bio Cell would help me. I then had my I.T. band scraped and taped. I went home and immediately started the Bio Cell, stretches and exercises. I came back to Spine and Sport two more times and had the I.T. band scraped and taped before the race. I was mentally prepared to be in pain all day out on the trail but I was so happy to have my knee move freely with no tightness or pain for 50 miles! Thanks so much Dr. Makin and staff! You will be seeing alot of my face at the office so I can keep things "running" smoothly. I have some big goals this year and its sure good to have you all on my team!!

Dr. Makin is the real deal. I originally went to him to help with a strained achilles tendon. Two weeks before a 200 mile bike race. I was questioning if I would be able to compete. Right after my first treatment I was expecting him to tell me to take time off. I got the exact opposite. He told me to go out on my bike asap so we could see how it performed. The very same day I went up AF canyon with no pain. I was able to complete the 200 mile race two weeks later with only mild issues. The difference with Dr. Makin is that he has the knowledge and expertise to help get you to a better performance level. On a side note, I mentioned that I dont sleep well either. On average I was probably sleeping 5 - 6 hrs a night. Im now sleeping through the night about 80 - 90% of the time. Like I said, hes the real deal. Im so glad I went to him based off a referral from another cyclist.

I have had breast cancer treatments, surgeries, infections and poor health for the last year! I have also suffered from carpal tunnel syndrome and hot flashes so badly that I was getting 3 hours of sleep a night. I have also suffered with pain from scar tissue, muscle displacement from a double mastectomy and tension from muscle spasms. My family recommended I go see Dr. Makin and after one visit, I am amazed at how much better I feel. I was able to fall asleep and stay asleep since I have seen him and my pain and tension has improved by about 60%! I feel peace in my body for the first time in a year and feel like I am getting my health back! I highly recommend seeing Dr. Makin 100%. The staff is so caring and kind and Dr. Makin treats you like family and truly cares. Thanks Utah Spine and Sport, you are changing my life and my health!
