Westridge Health Center is a medical center located at 3730 W 4700 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84129, USA. The center operates from 7 AM to 9 PM every day and has a rating of 3.4. The center is part of the University of Utah Health Care system.
Some patients have praised the staff and doctors at the Westridge Health Center. They found the receptionists friendly and the medical assistants and physician assistants great. Doctors were described as knowledgeable and kind. One patient particularly recommended Dr. Matthew Johnson for his friendly and interested demeanor.
However, the center has received its fair share of negative reviews. Patients have reported issues with the front desk staff, describing them as rude and condescending. Some were turned away for not having a co-pay, despite having insurance.
Patients have also raised concerns about the pharmacy services. Despite confirming orders online, some patients had to return multiple times to complete their orders. They questioned the efficiency of the pharmacists in fulfilling prescriptions accurately.
Several reviews highlighted dissatisfaction with medical treatment. Patients reported that their symptoms were not taken seriously, and necessary tests like X-rays were not conducted. Some even reported misdiagnoses that led to complications.
The urgent care service was criticized for long waiting times and lack of attention to patients. One patient reported being left unattended for an hour without any staff checking on them.
The Westridge Health Center has a mixed reputation. While some patients have had positive experiences, particularly with the medical staff, many have reported issues with administrative staff and medical treatment. The center's pharmacy services also seem to require improvement.

I had an appt. at this clinic, I arrived 40 minutes early to check in. I just moved to the area, and I have always gone to the Greenwood Clinic, (they usually bill me, and I know all there computers are inter-connected). So as I check in the Fat lady at the front desk tells me I need to have my co-pay, so I told her to go ahead and bill me, she refused, and wouldnt even look up my past financial history on her computer. She turned me away. So I called and made an appt immediately with the Greenwood Clinic. They got me in with in 10 minutes, and BILLED me my copay ( Yes, I have insurance). Then I receive a U of U health clinic post card in the mail stating Sorry you missed your appt. So I called them and let know, I was turned away, I had not missed my appt, and I had been 40 min. early. They stated it is company policy that if they can not fill the position even if I was turned away that it goes on the record as a missed appt. So I contacted my insurance advised them to pay nothing if billed, they agreed. I then contacted an attorney, and we are in the process, of seeing about some policy changes with the Clinic policys. P.S. The supervisor, was even contacted and spoke with the doctor who said she would not see me until I had the Co-pay. Thank you Dr. I now have to have my hip flexor surgically reattached. I had ripped it the night before. Thought it was just a pulled muscle...NOPE!!!! Thanks for your crappy service University of Utah Westridge Health Center. I guess I should expect nothing less from the Ghetto clinic.

On October 13th I went with a terrible cough that gave me a pain under my chest. I asked Dr Sheffield for a chest xr but he said it wasnt necessary, gave me cough syrup and ibuprofen even when I told him I was taking it and didnt work. To amuse my husband because he used to think Dr Flynn walks on water, I went to him on Dec 1th. Told him the same. I have been coughing for over 5 months, I asked him for an X ray (I thought I had Bronquitis ) but Dr Perfect dismissed me and told me it it was viral and he was going to give me antibiotics just to amuse me (his own words).I started crying because is very frustrating not to be heard, specially when is been over 5 months with this terrible cough and having to use adult diapers. His answer to my crying, send a social worker because I was depressed. Long story short, I went to my family Dr replacement last week (mine retired) that ordered a chest x ray inmediatly and found a 6x6cm mass in my right lung. I started coughing blood the next day and had a biopsy on Saturday. Thanks to the hubris of this doctors, now the cancer is more advanced. Somtimes I wonder if they would had treated me the same way if I was white. It would have made a big difference to find out the tumor 3 months ago when I first went to that place. Stay away from this clinic.

PHARMACY: Make sure you double check everything before you leave. even though you request your refill over the internet, get a confirmation of exactly what is supposed to be in the order, and call ahead to let them know you are coming, somehow it is still really hard for the pharmacists at the counter to look at the paper that they have printed up, and put all of those things in the bag for you. I sent my poor wife back twice today to complete my order, and have to go back again tomorrow to get the last one. Isnt the entire job of a pharmacist to look at a paper, see how many things are listed, and then put the right amount of the right kind of things in the bottle or bag? I assume these guys went to school for this, there should have been a class at some point that addressed the vital need to "put four things in the bag." how do you know how many to put in the bag? its written on the paper.

If my review were that of only the providers and their MAs, my review would be an "excellent". They have always treated my family very well, and I appreciate them. Where my issues begin and end is with the "receptionists" / "registrars", and the call center staff. The front desk staff all need surgery to remove the sticks that somehow got lodged..... Stale, no personality, no warmth....... Then today I called to make an appointment for my daughter. A young lady named Brittany answered. Stale, whiney, nasal, no empathy (imagine the stereotypical operator voice). I get that there are no appointments available, but is it necessary to act as though it is putting you out to provide the very service you were hired to provide? I only found out today that I can schedule my own appointments online. That;s the route im taking from here on out.

Worst experience EVER! Went to the urgent care after a fall and was directed by my normal physician to go in to nearest location.....I have been here before with no complaints. This last experience was the most uncomfortable after I walked in back room. Was left there for an hour with nobody checking on me or asking if I needed anything. When I finally was so uncomfortable and fed up I was told I was next, but they were unsure of how long that would be. Honestly if you are going to run an urgent care, please treat it that way. I will say that the lady at front desk was very helpful and they got me back extremely fast......but as for the staff behind that door I would give a zero star!

My crappie service started right at the front desk. The lady who checked me in was rude and condescending. She treated me like scum. I then went back to the room where we were informed one of my kids was being seen by a different doctor. He said wow your really sick. Throat is swollen and everything. Treatment plan HONEY!! Are you freaking kidding me. What a joke. Now I have to pay an additional 35 dollars copay to see another Dr in two days. Thanks for nothing!

DR. Sheffield one of the worst Drs. At the westridge clinic. He thinks we all have to become robots once in the exam room..Yes sir no sir those are the responses he expects...he would not treat my dry itchy flaky scalp because my hair was wet so he wanted me to return when hair and scalp is dry in order for him to maybe recommend something..so dissapointed with some Drs there especially Dr.Sheffield..left the clinic in tears.

Nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff and doctors at the Westridge Health Center. The receptionists are always friendly, the MAs and PAs are great, and all the doctors I have seen have been very knowledgeable and kind. I particularly like Dr. Matthew Johnson. He is always friendly and interested, and takes the time to really find out whats going on. I would recommend this clinic to anyone!

Weve been taking our son here since he was born and have had nothing but wonderful service. Someone claiming racism in her review urged me to write mine. This place treats everyone politely from my experience and to say you received poor treatment because youre Hispanic is not appropriate. More than half the staff is HISPANIC! Wonderful place and we love our Doctor! Keep it up!
