My experience with the doctors has been great. However the business office is a screw up from the first appointment. I have had 2 eye operations. Both times the billing has been totally messed up. They have insisted I owed money on my deducable even though both insurance said no. This last time was on April 18. They told me I needed to pay before the operation which I did. After they operation I received a bill and called my insurance to see why. They said I shouldnt have and not to pay and they contacted DuLaney and after going over my account found that DuLaney owed me over $100. DuLaney rebilled me with a bill and somehow got a total of credit of 48.47 over half less than I was originally told. Called several times, went into the office in Surprise only to be told billing would have to call me. On the 25 I received a letter that if I didnt pay my bill of -$48.47 within 10 days I would be turned over to collection. We have very good eye coverage insurance that covers what they call eye infractions charges. The charge for a dr to hand write your prescription for glasses. Time and time we have told them to bill. On the same day that I received my threat of collection my husband once again got a bill for a refraction. I had already talked to our insurance and was told I would get a corrected bill for$10.37. Well the bill came. His account balances is $10.37 but the amount we have to pay is $31.77. I would defiantly recommend that any dealing with this company you check and double check every bill and check with your insurance to make sure they have billed you correctly. Although we like the doctors we will not use them again as long as they are with DuLaney. Can almost guarantee that no one there will contact me or try to correct their terrible mistakes. Wonder how any of them got a job in billing.

The first and last time: My experience with Barnet-Delaney-Perkins Eye Center went from bad to worse. My appointment took two hours, fifteen minutes from start to finish. I can only surmise that my appointment took that long because several nurses were having their extended “social time” while I was there. While I was in their office they lost my file. When I asked for my written prescription the nurse at billing informed me that I did not have that procedure performed. After they found my file and gave me my prescription billing could not figure out how much to charge me (really????). The nurse in billing originally charged me $45 dollars. After they found my file billing informed me that I owed an additional $45 dollars ($90.00 total). Three weeks later they sent me another bill for an additional $40 dollars (now $130.00 total) and that was with insurance. That was the “bad”, now it gets worse! The prescription Barnet Delaney Perkins Eye Center gave me was not accurate. With my new glasses I could not see street signs while driving nor could I read my computer screen. I went to an eyeglass store, used their in house doctor for a new prescription which only cost me $40 dollars and that was without insurance. Got new glasses with which I can see and compared the two prescriptions. Not even close!!!!

Second cataract surgery went great on Thursday. Was much more aware of what was going on this time than last and the doctor explained everything he was doing on the eye step by step - very weird. My eye was open but I had no focus just a big blue blur and of course could feel nothing, Have mono-vision just like my contacts were - right eye distance left eye close up. They are almost in sync. I can read all but the smallest print without glasses and an see distance like a kid. The computer is now a breeze. Have a little blur on the left side of the left eye with distance but it is much less today than yesterday. Doctor is very pleased as am I. This was a good decision and I obviously had a very good surgeon - Thanks Dr. Perkins of Barnet-Dulaney-Perkins Eye Center in Phoenix you are the best. Right eye results were equally as great - had perfect vision day after surgery. Colors are outstanding.

An eye care clinic and also a referral center for related specialties and specific surgeries. The clinical specialists are expert professionals and one of them Dr. Brian Stephens was the one who took care of me. I would like to say that I appreciate his careful and thorough examination while exploring and addressing my eye-related issues. The technicians are knowledgeable and able to work with all the electronic devices in order to perform the tests and to provide the required diagnostic basis. The administrative staff are kind and attentive with clients. I had a great experience and I highly recommend the eye center to all who need a specialized care. The clinic has offices in 6 areas including Phoenix, Chandler, Sun City, Mesa, Surprise, and Goodyear. People can choose the office which is closer to where they live.

This place holds its reputation on their cataract surgery procedures and results, but anything else here is sub par. Ive been bringing my father here for his eye problems for the past 6 months. Half of their equipment is broken. Even critical machines like their argon laser was malfunctioning. I would rather trust the machine that was designed for its job from the ground up, than a senile doctors hand, who also kicks me out of the room because hes frustrated. On another occasion they extracted blood from my fathers arm and managed to spill it on their table, they just wiped it with a dry paper towel and had the next patient come up to the unsanitary station. It is always crowded and youre just another patient on the doctors list. The nurses are okay, only one being a pleasure to work with.

Good reputation and word-of-mouth for surgery results. HOWEVER, this appears to be an overgrown medical practice that is poorly managed and has no respect for patients time. As just one example, this morning I had a follow-up appointment with one of their optometrists, not even one of their opthamologists or surgeons. One and a-half hours after my appointment time, I was finished with the testings and the consult with the OD...but I was left waiting an additional 20 minutes for "check-out" to set the next appointment and do payment. INEXCUSABLE. I walked out still without being checked out. If enough others let BDP know that this is ridiculous maybe theyll get the message. As for me, I choose to no longer be a patient and will search for another healthcare provider for my eyes.

I paid cash for my Implantable Contact Lens surgery because it wasnt covered by insurance. The day after my surgery, I was all but blind in my left eye (light and shadow only.) Dr. Perkins was great about explaining what happened and it did resolve itself after a couple weeks after following his recommendations. I give them one star because after a 5 star experience with Dr. Perkins and the clinical staff, Im now getting several bills from them for the apointments I had due to my complications, when I was told that the $5,000 I paid for the surgery covered a full year of follow up appointments. I recommend the surgery, but do it somewhere else if you dont want to deal with incompetent office staff.
