My mother and I have always had at least 3 dogs in the house my entire life. Weve both trained dogs and competed with several in AKC. I have never been more happy with a vet then with Great Bridge Vets! Now that I am an adult and have 2 dogs of my own, my budget is tight - but I have never felt I have been over charged or charged for services I did not ask for. I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. Ive been to several other vets in the area and been treated with poor service and questionable vets. Doctor Harvey goes above and beyond when it comes to helping animals. While I was in college my doberman had a routine cleaning. While she was under he found a tumor. He did not just remove it and charge me later - he had a tech call me personally and ask me if I wanted it removed while she was still out. He knew school was draining my finances. They were so kind and set up a payment plan for me so I could get my baby girl the surgery she needed and pay it off slowly. He deals with all my dietary questions and comfort care for my older dogs at my mothers, and has been there for me every step of the way in raising my new puppy that I rescued at 4 weeks old. I would be willing to pay any price for the incredible service the entire staff has given my family over the past couple years, but the great thing is - his prices are still incredibly reasonable even though he could charge an arm and a leg! The front desk staff is always warm and personable, the techs are always on their best game, and Dr. Harvey is like a 90210 doctor who charges at free clinic prices. I will always recommend Great Bridge Veterinary clinic to all my family and friends.

They talked my wife into getting extra blood work for our Beagle. The cost for the visit was $493 which included $37 worth of medicine. The rest of the cost is for an exam and tests. Two weeks later and we still have not heard back from them. My wife has called twice and received "let me take a note for the vet so he can call you back". They have had the test results back for a week. So either the tests were not necessary or they have little to no regard for their customers and their pets. Also, they never mentioned the extra test when we initially brought the dog in for limited mobility (2013) and they started her on medication (which requires blood tests every 6 months). All of the sudden it occurred to them that she needed this extra blood work to check for a tick borne illness? Two different tick borne tests were conducted. On for $51.50 and one for $208.25. It should have been diagnoses on the first visit. She has been previously tested for tick borne illnesses by the first veterinarian we took he to see. She has been given Advantix II and heartworm medicine every month since we have had her. We brought all of the dog’s paperwork from previous veterinarian visits for them to review. The dog I am talking about was rescued by us when my wife found her on the side of the road abandon and near death. We have had her seen by three other vets for the mobility problem (different vets due to moving for work). They have lost our business. I suggest you try another veterinarian.

This past week we adopted a dog who was left abandoned in a house. We found out his vetrinarian history was with Great Bridge Vet. We scheduled an appointment for a check up and to get an idea of his history. We were told the bill would be a very affordable $50. Well that bill went from $50 to $360 because the Vet took it upon herself to vaccinate our dog, perform an ultra sound (which pointed to cancer or kidney stones), check his urine and blood, clean his ears and prescribed an ear drop..... ALL OF WHICH WERE OUTRAGEOUSLY PRICED AND NOT CONFIRMED TO BE DONE BY US.... Next they brought in their "medical plan". The "low" option was what the vet had already done. The "high" was more options that a "good pet owner" would take to insure our dog had a long healthy life. Oh and that was a total of $600. Essentially a ridiculous guilt trip only comparable to the ones your mother put you through in child hood. Basically we are a young couple with not much to spend on a very old dog that we did not want to see get thrown into a shelter to die. Only reason we give two stars instead of one, is because the Vet was able to give us our new friends medical history over the past few years. We left, out nearly $400 and still feeling like terrible people because we couldnt afford the "high" option. Save your time and the bashing on your emotions and go to a shelter to get what you ask for.... not a sales pitch. Maxwells new happy father, Pat

We have been taking our boxer to Great Bridge since we moved to the area in 2013. We have had an amazing experience every time. The staff are considerate and make your pet feel like family. We have seen all the vets, with Dr. Harvey being our main doctor. They really take the time to get to know you and your family, provide recommendations that are reasonable, and are very timely with their appointments. They do price-match for medications, which is really helpful so we can get them at the time of our appointment at the price we would have paid somewhere else that would ship them to us. They always provide follow-on communication after your appointment to make sure your pet is doing well and answer any other questions you may have. We have taken our dog there for both wellness check-ups and surgery - highly recommend them!

I took my cat into Great Bridge Vet hospital 3 times in less than a month. Rather than treating him with a practical approach, the vet ordered tests and prescribed 4 different meds. These upset his tummy and the vet said the meds werent the cause of his vomiting. I took him to the emergency vet after he wasnt eating and the doctor advised to take him off all meds and that they werent necessary. After a follow-up visit 2 days later with that vet, hes back to normal and very happy. I got the impression from Great Bridge that they were more interested in making money than treating my pet efficiently and effectively. The vet might have eventually gotten to the diagnosis the other vet came to in one visit, but it would have cost me a fortune and put my cat through unnecessary tests and medicines.

OMG!!! WOW!!! Upon leaving their grooming session with Gail my 2 short-haired dogs looked like 2 top "supermodels" . I thought they "sparkled". My husband said they "glimmered". The black colors on their coat were brilliantly shiny, the whites "super" white, and the gray had a range of color and depth. Having 2 dogs with "oh so-soft" and clean fur, well trimmed nails and soft paws, and that smell absolutely fabulous is exactly why I trust Gail with my little Italian Greyhound and Whippet. (And my Blue Burmese kitty, but she goes on a separate trip!). Gails love and passion for transforming animals into looking and feeling their best is evident every time we visit. Thank-you so very much Gail, - you are a true blessing! :)
