Great experience! Last Tuesday night, I could hardly move because of my back pain, and by Wednesday afternoon, I was being seen at the office in Falls Church. A little bit of my background: I was diagnosed with "S-shape" scoliosis about 10 years ago and I have had awful back pain for years especially throughout my cheer career. Doctors would just prescribe more and more medicine, but never actually figure out the real issue of my pain. On top of that, I have been suffering with migraines multiple times a week for the past 5 years, and it was the same thing, more medicine. Lastly, my hands have been having trimmers for the past year and when I went to the doctor, they just called it a migraine variate and said its just something I will have to live with. Well, during my appointment last week, honestly I was just hoping she would just pop my back to relieve some of my pain, but she sat down and actually went through all of my history and did not just focus on my trouble spot of the day. She was so kind and patient and you could tell she was very passionate about helping her patients. She was able to figure out the cause of my migraine, trimmers, and my back pain, and then the next day she was able to make another appointment for me to get x-rays. And, this is where the real magic happened. Her thoughts about the causes of my migraines where correct and the x-rays confirmed that. So my trimmers and my migraines will eventually go away with the help of the Doctor and her plan. AND, after being diagnosed 10 years earlier, turns out I do not have S-shape scoliosis, I just have mild scoliosis in my upper back and the curve in my lower back almost completely disappeared after the Doctor examined my x-rays and realized I have one leg that is shorter than the other. So for $20, I was able to get soles for the bottom of my shoes that will completely minimize my pain, and the curve degree in my upper back went from 13 degrees to 10 degrees in a matter of seconds. The best part of about this is that, the doctor called me in the same day as my previous x-rays because she figured out the leg caused and she wanted me to get fixed as soon as I could even though I had an appointment on Monday. Sorry, for the long novel, but I fully recommend this group.

I came in with a 10 pain level of lower back pain. I was unable to walk or sit or do anything without help, and was getting lumbar epidurals to be able to function and have a life. Dr. Sarah reviewed my X-rays and my level of movement, etc. and prescribed me treatments to make a structural change in my lower back and neck, in addition to processes that would lower the pain level, even after I had had my maximum of epidurals for the six months. After a couple of months of following the regiment, she noticed that I would get better, then plateau and get worse again, and that bothered her. She actually cares that I am not getting better, unlike many chiropractors who dont care as log as you keep coming and all they do is get you to buy things from them. She did research and consulted some of her professors, insisting that my pain level could not possibly all be due to the disk bulge. She decided to test some of my muscles, and they were super painful and tender! She was right, the pain was also coming from my muscles. She then got certified in dry-needling, and started giving me a session every time I went. The tenderness started to decrease, and she continues to move from one area to the next. I can now go for walks, put on pants standing, tie my own shoes, and even ride my bike! My pain level is between 3 and 4 now, with no epidurals! I feel so so lucky to have found her and to know I am in good hands. The ladies that assist her are also wonderful, and Allison makes the visits enjoyable and relaxing. I highly recommend Virginia Family Chiropractic to everyone. They changed my life to the better, and I cannot put a price on that.

From John Magill patient- I first heard about Virginia Family Chiropractors on WMAL (105.9 FM) and since I had been diagnosed, by my neurologist, with “severe” nerve damage to my feet and legs (neuropathy) I was very interested. I asked the neurologist how could I have damaged those nerves? He said he did not know! My father and grandfather both had diabetes, which can cause neuropathy, but since I did not have diabetes how could I have neuropathy? I was very curious about the procedures and treatment that Virginia Family Chiropractors were talking about (without pills/surgery) and finally decided to take advantage of the free consultation! And AM I glad I did! Dr. Cassou explained everything to me - how she could fix my issues using certain procedures-laser treatments, massage-and I thought what could I lose? I signed up and had my first therapy session that day! I could actually tell a difference the first day. I’ve had about 11 sessions now and what a world of difference…my feet and back feel great! If you have any back problems or issues like mine it might be worth going for the free consultation, at least, to see if she can help you. Her staff of Jerome and Lane are very nice and very friendly and knowledgeable.

This was my first visit to a chiropractor, and I was left feeling weirded out by this office. I like having the option to book online, so I used ZocDoc to book my appointment and expected to see Dr. Hatam. Reception was perfectly friendly, but when I was taken in to see the doctor, it was Dr. Peterson instead. What made me uncomfortable was that there were two other people being treated in the same room. The doctor asked me questions and then stopped to align a guy with his shirt off a foot away from where I was sitting. Then, she asked me to do a bunch of stuff and aligned me, but it seemed very hurried and nothing was explained to me, and I felt very tense and confused since it was my first visit and I am pregnant and wasnt sure what to expect. Since they changed doctors on me, I wasnt able to research her background ahead of time, etc. Its about one hour later, and Im not noticing any improvement in my back either. I had read a lot of positive reviews before I went, and wanted to describe the environment in case others might be uncomfortable being treated in a room with other patients. I made an appointment with another chiropractor in the area that has private rooms.

**update 1.5 months later** I had my CT scan of my foot yesterday, and the first thing my doctor said when walking in the room was that he was "pleasantly shocked" at my bone growth, and that I was nearly 100% healed. I cannot express enough how relieved I am. MLS laser therapy is a God send! Saved me from getting a bone graft. And the fifth metatarsal is one of the hardest places to grow bone, and in TWO months, I am almost completely healed. Original post: Ive only been here about 4 times (for MLS laser therapy for nonunion of fifth metatarsal) but I will say for one, my foot feels a lot better. It wasnt really bothering me too much in the first place (doing laser therapy in hopes of preventing bone graft) but I dont notice ANY pain now. For two, the office is always very clean and friendly. Really pleased so far. Will update status of my bone growth once available.
