My experience at the Powhatan Va location was a nightmare! The receptionist had a very poor attitude with me when I asked her questions about my records that were requested by them and I got charged. She was getting visibly irritated with me when I questioned her about why the records that they requested got mailed to me instead of their office? She could not give me a straight answer and never once did she offer to get me help with my questions. I had only been seen one time 2 weeks ago with Dr. Sharon Joseph. The workup and office visit info was incorrect like my blood pressure info etc. and the fact that the test they ran on me came back as B12 deficient. The confrontation got escalated to Dr. Joseph and the nurse also got involved in the issue. The nurse called me back and right away I could tell that the front receptionist got everyone involved and told them I was being rude. I showed the nurse the incorrect info on the paperwork about my blood pressure was not correct and the fact that I never got treated for the B12 problem with a shot or something! I have been extremely tired to the point of not functioning and have had B12 problems in the past! The nurse right away had an attitude with me and was nasty! She was questioning me about my medications which I had already given them detailed info about my medications and I asked her why she was asking me again? I said to her if would just be easier to ask me if my medications have changed from 2 weeks ago? She stormed out of the room and yelled for Sharon Joseph who in turn immediately came into the room and very abruptly said to me that she does not appreciate my being rude to her office staff and gave me the option to stay or leave! Of course I left because she gave me no opportunity to get my version of what happened. She relied on the nasty receptionist at the front desk and took her word and the irritated nurse put the icing on the cake so to speak. I am outraged over how I was treated at the Powhatan location...so disturbing how I was treated. I have been going to a practice for the past several year in Chesterfield...Family Practice Associates of Chesterfield. I have been very displeased with them because of the serious mistake they made with my husband. In 2012 they sent him to get a cat scan because he had been having issues with breathing and lung issues. Well when the cat scan info came back the doctors he was seeing at the Chesterfield practice overlooked the diagnosis of Pulmonary Fibrosis and this year had sent him back and forth to different specialist spending our money on co pays needlessly because they did not read the final results of the cat scan taken in 2012. To me that is a pretty serious problem on their part and I have been unhappy with them ever since! Finally it was the last Specialist my husband went to who pointed out that my husbands doctors in Chesterfield completely overlooked the diagnosis. Now I am having issues with these other doctors I had chosen to see.......

This Drs Office is horrible!!!! They told me at my sons appointment they would mail his form to me when they got the blood results back and here it is a month and a half later and still no forms. I call them and they tell me the form has been sitting in the front office for over a month... Why werent they mailed? Why didnt they call me to say they were in the front office? I have been bringing my children to this doctors office since we moved back to Virginia and this is by far the worst place I have ever been to. There is not 1 time over the past year and a half that we have been seen on time. We are always waiting at least an hour before getting called back to Dr Joseph. I think its ridicules that they waste my time like this. If my children have an appointment time they should be seen at that time.

Consistenly long waits. If you have an appointment, plan on waiting over an hour to be seen. One would think they would not overbook.. total lack of respect for the pateints time. I for one have other things to do than wait on the doctor for 1-2 hours. Bonsecour, please figure out your scheduling. Additionally... the catholic base of this practice does not provide HPV vaccines because its againts their religious beliefs... even though this vaccine prevents cancer and should be given to young women. Just ridiculous.. I wonder what other services they dont provide. Also.. after they let you sit for hours, they will be quick to send ridiculous bills your way. Im looking for a new doctor in the area, this place is ridiculous!

In excruciating pain and after the er sent me Hone with advil I decided to try another route. They listened to me and ordered an emergency Mri. The Mri showed my back is toast. Two herniated discs , crushed vertebrae on my nerves going down both legs. I made sure to deliver the results before 5 on Friday so I could get relief. Nope! Everyone is gone for the weekend and I can do nothing but lay here crying in pain. Pitiful to treat humans this way.

I have recently started seeing Dr Murray and I have found her to be very willing to work with me on keeping me healthy rather than just concentrating on illness. I find it very refreshing that she gives me credit for the research I have done on different modalities of healing and is open to hearing about them. I feel like I have a partner in my health. Ive havent had to wait in the waiting room for more than 10 minutes.

I know Madeline is only a NP but she has helped me in so many ways. After being diagnosed with hypertension and type 2 diabetes she has helped me get it all under control and i managed to lose a little over 100 pounds. My waits are never long even though I get there early. I also am hypochondriac so she sees me a lot and they know I have anxiety and always listen and check my blood pressure twice.

Dr Joseph is very sweet and also makes my children very comfortable. She lets them know what she is going to do. I recommend any parent to take your son/daughter there. The number above is their fax number though, here is their office number 285-6050.
