I have been seeing Dr. Ham 4 my migraines 4 a few months. The last 2 visits have gone 2 hades. I will have more proof come Monday. But when I went 4 a scheduled appt that had been set up 4 months, they had canceled it, not even notifying me of the change & 2 set up a new appt.(I see Dr. Ham every 3 months 4 Botox injections 2 alleviate my cluster/ mass migraines.) When I talked 2 a supervisor about the situation on that day, they did fit me in, but Dr. Ham seemed less than impressed. She also rushed through the process. Thats when I first noticed I wasnt getting all 31 Botox shots in the designated area. So I waited it out & brought someone who would count the next time I had 2 go in. He pulled up a migraine botox injection chart and watched. At the end he asked her about why she shorted my shorts. She said she dId 26, but he watched and he counted 24. She said that she added extra 2 the area that she choose 2 treat, yet botox all wears off at the same time. So adding a bunch of unnecessary posion & not cleaning the area thats going 2 be treated, or being sloppy & leting it leak out & down my face isnt a good quality of a Dr. Dont believe me. Here read up. Come Monday when I get a copy of my referral, Ill post a copy of that & let you know if fraud is going on. I mean its not like they are going 2 come out & say ohh ya we stole and messed up. You caught us. Sorry. However my insurance has been notified. I would keep your eyes open 2. Botox is available in injectable form. Botox and Botox Cosmetic (the form of Botox given 4 reducing facial wrinkles) both contain the same ingredients but have different approved uses & labeling. When given 4 chronic migraine, Botox is diluted & a series of 31 injections are given across 7 specific regions on both the left and right sides of the head & NECK. It is recommended that this treatment be repeated every 12 weeks. How much Botox should you use, really? Apparently much less than Groupon deals would suggest. Most of the doctors said that, while the actual units vary patient 2 patient, they generally use Botox very lightly in their younger patients (those in their twenties & thirties), & never with a heavy hand in general. A doctor might initially use around 10 units in someones forehead, because younger patients muscles react very well even at lower doses. That way, your forehead still moves normally, but the muscles are suitably relaxed. If youre worried about looking unnatural, the doctors all agreed that the most important thing 2 do is find a licensed dermatologist or plastic surgeon, go 4 a consultation be4 you actually go ahead with the procedure, & tell the doctor expressly that 4 you, less is more. If they still arent listening at that point, you should leave.

I just dont like the building and the check-in process. I dont like that there is limited seating. I had to wait in the waiting area of radiology and listen really hard for my name. Another thing is the white noise they purposely have piped in throughout the facility. It is disguised as a HVAC register but it actual serves to drown out anyone hearing confidential HIPPA information. I liken this sound to having tinnitus or constant ringing in the ear. Also I have very small computer programmed hearing aid inside my ear. It is programmed to block out background noise to allow me to hear. This made it extremely difficult to hear my name when called because I had to wait in the waiting area of radiology. Also the check-in process leaves little to be desired. There have been times when I was late going upstairs to see my doctor. Then my doctor is a frazzled wreck because her job description says she must injected 40 patients with Botox that day and she can only spend 10 minutes with each patient. I thought by arriving 20 minutes prior to my appointment it would run smoother. Boy was I wrong. If you sign in early the check-in staff will "cherry pick" the names of the patients by their appointment time. My observations told me it was best to show up either right at your appointment time or a little after. I questioned this and was told they have 15 minutes that you can be late and still be seen. I was like one of very few who arrived early. There were hoards of "coattail patients" and the check-in staff got them promptly. I have been to doctors offices that stipulate if you are late they will reschedule that appointment. Again I can see why my doctor can not discuss anything other than what idle chit chat happens during injections. So on my next visit I am going to walk in the door right at my appointment time. Then I wont have to wait in vain. As much of a negative repport as DMV has, I really think VCU could take a que from them in managing the check-in process.

I have been a patient of Dr. William Jiranek for 5 years. I saw him at his new location on Broad street and found it a much better experince than at Stony Point. I was assigned a room immediately for my 10am appointment. I had a xray of my right hip at noon, saw him again at 1pm and an MRI at 5pm. He called me himself with the results and the diagnosis of 2 tendon tears in my right hip. He had several suggestions to avoid surgery. Thanks Dr. Jiranek...so sorry Duke has offered you a better spot on its team. I cant believe after all you have achieved in the new building location that you are willing to leave. Good for Duke, bad for Richmond.

Really nice facility. Lots of space and natural light. Check in can be lengthy depending on time and number of others in line. The overall wait times vary but I expect that when going to docs. But all in all, staff is pleasant and seeing all providers in same place makes it easier to navigate. Great parking.

Fantastic set up, easy to navigate even on my first visit, and easy-peasy to park and get inside. Very accessible covered patient drop off with a ton of handicapped parking literally at the door. Adjacent to Short Pump pedestrian mall, which the family loves.

The check-in process is lengthy and disorganized and I say "disorganized" to be polite. After check-in, everything runs smoothly.
