Always a pleasant experience. The top-notch staff are professional and friendly from the check-in to all levels of care start to finish. Dr Downs is committed to superb treatment and attends to patient needs with concern and deft hands. I have been a patient with Dr Downs for 8 years. When she was on staff at a larger practice I followed her all over VA Beach because once you find a health care provider that you find irreplaceable you stay loyal. It was an easy choice and when she set up practice it was an smooth transition. What I really appreciate is the skill she provided when I needed cosmetic work on my front teeth since I have sported a broken tooth as a teenager. I have had bonding replacements from time to time. I was never in better hands or had the results I now see in the mirror until she replaced my most recent version. When you smile a lot and like to laugh it can be disconnect if that is influenced by a bit of self consciousness. Dr Downs is gifted and simply the best. Thats the most succinct way I can state a fact and not gush publicly. VA Beach has a world class dentist. She could be a dentist to celebrities. Shes that good. The other trait that is worth noting is her cordial and friendly demeanor. You feel like a patient and neighbor. People make life. A facility could be state of the art but if the care is provided without a basic element of compassion and genuine warmth trust and loyalty will be absent. That is not an issue here. Dr Downs has a large fan base. Im one fan that is happy I am one of the patents at this practice. There is no better dentist in my opinion for the health of your smile! The paragon. Period!

I have avoided going to the dentist pretty much my whole adult life because of bad experiences when I was younger, but at 30 years old it was time for me to set a good example for my kids and start seeing a dentist regularly. After researching, I decided to visit Dr. Downs office based on reviews alone pretty much, and hoped for the best. I was blown away. Melissa is the most gentle hygienist Ive ever had, and Dr. Downs is the most easygoing, patient dentist. Theres no judgement, no hounding, and most importantly they are honest and realistic about your treatment plan and I cant tell you how much that means to me. Ive had several appointments over the last year at Downs Dental and after a couple of long needed procedures, its a really good feeling to be on track with dental care now. I know many adults who are in the same boat I was and put off dental care but I can promise you that you will not regret doing yourself and your health the favor, and this is the best place to go if you also suffer from "dentist anxiety". I recently recommended this office to my neighbor who badly needed to see a dentist but was terrified, and the day after her appointment she sent me a message thanking me from the bottom of her heart. My 7 year old has had 2 appointments also and Im so thankful that these are the dentist experiences he will have as a foundation rather than the negative experiences i had at his age that caused me to avoid going to the dentist. Im so proud to say that I have absolutely no fear or apprehension about going to the dentist anymore. Thank you so much Dr. Downs & staff!!

Ive been a patient for several years. Dr. Downs is simply the best. Whether for emergency work or routine checkups there is never any doubt that you receive the dental care and commitment to quality that promotes health and outstanding long term results. Going to the dentist is essential part of normal living. Fact! Finding a concerned and adept steady hand you can trust, not so easy. Double fact! I hit a home run with bases loaded at the bottom of the ninth when I found myself in her capable hands. Enough said? Nope! Her staff know their profession too and Dr Downs has formed a great team. I always feel like Im first in line and welcomed warmly as soon as I enter the practice. But the former spa where she hangs her shingle is not what has me sold. Dr Downs could set up shop in a trailer for all I care (it would probably be an airstream trailer though) because what really matters is this fact; Im in the most competent hands nation-wide because Dr Downs produces results that are peerless so Im a lifelong patient. Shes always on her game! I unequivocally receive the finest dental service and most most contemporary treatment available at Downs Dental Care. Is there an elite six star rating I can make?

I have been a patient of Dr. Downs since she opened her practice. She and her professional, friendly staff are top notch, all superb in their fields! Dr. Downs has a remarkable chair side demeanor. She is talented, kind and gentle, making sure that not only is the work done to perfection, but that you are comfortable as well. Hers is the rare combination of skill matched by the ability to set a patient at ease. Joslin and Claudia, both so helpful and considerate, make sure you are taken care of for appointment, billing and insurance needs. Two excellent hygienists, Melissa and Christi, are available for cleanings. Fabi and Lucille are Dr. Downs’ fantastic assistants, making sure that procedures go smoothly. Jayson, the Director of Business Development, ever personable, is always greeting everyone like family, because at Downs Dental Care, that is how they view you, as part of the family! From the moment you walk in the door of their beautiful office, all the staff work together as team to make sure your experience is terrific. I highly recommend them for all your dental needs!

I am beyond happy with services I received from Downs Dental Care.Thank you Joslin, Christi and Dr. Downs for such a pleasant dental visit. I appreciated being greeting warmly by Joslin, the calm atmosphere throughout the office and cleanliness of the office too. Christi was extremely patient with me and accommodated my tooth sensitivity, making sure I was very comfortable the entire visit and very efficient with my time. Dr. Downs was very thorough, listened to my concerns and offered a nice plan for me. I appreciated her conservative approach and her kind/warm demeanor. Joslin was great with scheduling my future appointment and explaining the costs involved for services. The office seemed to run really on time and I was not kept waiting at all, which is so rare these days. I would highly recommend Downs Dental Care for your dental needs, especially if you have any anxiety associated with visiting the dentist, this is the place for your care.

If I could give more than 5 stars to Dr. Downs and the staff I would! Going to the dentist as a kid was very traumatic for me. So between my illnesses and that I let me Oral care go. I got referred to Dr. Downs and was very nervous and hesitant going to go see her. The whole office staff has been so wonderful to me and my children. I havent smiled in public in a long time and now that my oral care is almost done, I cant stop smiling. Dr. Downs makes you feel at home and only time I have had pain was after the numbing wore off. I never once felt anything. My kids beg to go back all the time. So far I have referred 4 or 5 people to go see Dr. Downs and they thank me for it.. Dr. Downs and all the staff actually care about the patients and will remember the last conversation they had.. I will keep referring Dr. Downs to anybody else who is looking for the best Dentist ever..
