I have been a patient of Dr. Davids for only a few years. He seems to be an excellent doctor and very good with communicating to patients. No complaints. On the negative side, the practice operates like a business (which it is), and this is probably typical of medical practices today. As a result, the business seems insensitive to patients overall, seemingly forgetting that they are a service industry paid to serve OUR needs as customers. Here is my hit list for improvement: 1. Send the non-medical staff to "TSA friendly school". They have a job to do, but they need to work on their handling of patients, treating them with respect, remaining flexible and patient in dealing with customers, who probably share their interest in not wanting to be there (some of the staff seem like they really do not want to be there either). 2. Doctors need to read the charts before seeing patients. Patients expect doctors to know why they are visiting, what treatment they are following, especially when the follow up visit was called by the doctor. Spend a minute or two to read the chart before walking in the door. 3. When I went in on Aug 7 for a copy of my record to bring to another doctor I was seeing in Washington, I was charged $16 for the copy, which involved opening my record on the computer (3 seconds) and hitting "print" (one second). Although my request was over the counter, I had not expected to be charged for 16 pieces of paper (one sided) given my status as a frequent customer of the business who prior to this date, maintained my customer loyalty and spent a fair sum in deductibles. Copies of records should be free within reason. 4. I have not cancelled an appointment but I see that most medical fast-care businesses charge for missed appointments. I think this is fine if negligence is involved, but the benefit of the doubt should be given to the patient. On the flip side, I believe an alternative is that patients should be able to invoice the practice if they have to wait longer than 5 minutes to see the doctor. Call it a "late service fee" and allow the patient a $50 deduction for each five minute interval. Ok, not a long list. As I stated, I cannot complain about the quality of medical care, and indeed, this is why people come to the practice. Dr. David was highly recommended to me by doctors within the medical establishment in the Washington DC area. However, the "business" is ugly and ought to find a friendlier and more service-oriented approach where people feel a bit better after a visit, at least in mind.

I would give zero stars if I could. Dr. Jae Lee had been my PCP for several years. Up until last year, when I suffered a serious health crisis, I had been pleased with her professionalism, bedside manner, and knowledge. Since Dr. Lee was not taking my illness, any of my symptoms or my concerns seriously, I asked my husband to accompany me to a follow up visit, something Id never done before in my life. He too was shocked by her arrogance and dismissive attitude. When I asked her if she was going to test my blood to determine what virus was attacking my body and which had already caused me to go to the ER twice, and once by ambulance, her response was, "Theres no point since there are thousands of viruses." She remarked that I "simply had the flu". I said, "Dr. Lee, this is nothing like the flu," to which she responded, "Then youve never had the flu." When I asked her if she reviewed the test results that were faxed over to her from the hospital, her reply was, "Have you seen how many emails I have?" I cant possibly read everything." To make a long story short...I was diagnosed with "multiple medical conditions" some very serious, including a "very complex autonomic disorder" that is responsible for many of the symptoms I continue to experience following last years viral infection. As my doctor, there was so much that Dr. Lee could have and should have done [for me] but her arrogance and dismissive attitude got in the way. A friend of mine, who also is a patient of Dr. Lees, had a difficult time believing what happened to me but recently experienced something similar and has now changed her opinion of this doctor. If Dr. Lee is unable to regain some semblance of humanity and uphold her duties as a doctor, perhaps its time for her to "retire" from the medical profession.

The front office staff is so rude, sarcastic and unprofessional! Just hate calling in and handling and scheduling simple appointments that are made so hard. Problems everytime we have to go here. Its so bad that we half of the time try to avoid going. My husband was just in to get his prescriptions refilled by Dr. Paid for our visit and called the pharmacy later that week and still couldnt get prescriptions refilled because Piedmonts clinical didnt send the prescriptions over digitally. I mean come on already! Get it together because if you dont we are going somewhere else. We have given you all many strikes out and this time might be the last. So question. If since he cant get his prescriptions like he should because you all faltered on your end by not sending them, then who will pay our emergency bill if he has to go because of him having an asthma attack?

I have been seeing Dr. McCarthy for almost 10 years now. He is an very caring, and thorough Doctor. I feel he has saved my life twice by referring me to the necessary specialist for additional testing because he didnt like some of the things going on with me. One determined I have a rather rare blood condition that causes blood to clot and can cause a stroke. The other was requesting the Cardiologist do an angiogram even after I passed a stress test with no problem. I did have a blocked artery and a stent was placed. I have seen other doctors when Dr. McCarthy was not there and was treated with the same concern as I assume they give their patients.

I end up angry each and every time I deal with them. I really like my doctor, but dealing with the practice itself is problematic. I always get the feeling the insurance company needs are WAY more important than my health. After 13 years, Im done. Whoever is managing this practice should be replaced. And dont ever tell a patient/customer that your "rules" are more important than my health.

This practice seems okay on the surface. Its clean, quiet, and the wait time is minimal. However, what soon becomes apparent is that you are not recieving quality medical care. The doctors do not follow up on urgent matters regarding your health and are bad about returning calls. If you have a cold, they will probably be fine but if anything serious arises...RUN to a competent practice.

Dr. McCarthy and the entire group of doctors and staff are fantastic. They are flexible and available when you need them. When utilizing their "Docs on Call" recently, the treatment was detailed and thorough. I recommend this group of professionals highly.
