The nurses and staff were great. I would give them 5 stars. The one star rating is for Dr. Fernando. My son is 2 months old and have been going to her since he was first born. My husband and I have always discussed vaccines for our baby with her. Of course as new parents this is a complicated decision that should not be taken lightly. Im not against vaccines but I think I should be able to set our own schedule as to how much they want to shove into my baby in one day. So on my last appointment, which was his 2 month checkup, I told the staff I was moving out of state and I was going to wait on the vaccines until I settle in with our new doctor in a few weeks. Well that did not go over lightly with Dr. Fernando. She came in the room and gave me the look of death. She then asked me how I came to the decision to wait on vaccines for now. When I told her my reasons she said I made no sense and then proceeded to try to fear me into getting them right then. Saying that if my child gets whooping cough now he will die!!! I couldnt believe what she was saying to me as a new mother. After she was done with her rant... I told her its my child and my choice. She proceeded to quickly check him over like she couldnt get through our last appointment fast enough... Then said "good luck to you" and left the room. I was so furious by the time I left I was shaking. So beware of the VACCINE NAZI !!!!

I cannot say enough nice things about Dr. Fernando and her practice. I very much appreciate their thorough and wonderful care. I love that she has such a focus on nutrition, to include a kitchen and a garden to teach the little ones how to eat healthy from a young age. The office is bright and clean, beautifully decorated. The nurses are great as well. I also like, no I LOVE their firm but very kind and educating stance on vaccines. I strongly believe that vaccines are the best thing medicine has ever done for man kind and feel much better about taking my little one to an office where I know the other patients are fully immunized as well (whenever possible). If there are ever any questions or concerns, they always take to the time to fully explain the reasoning behind their recommendations and answer any questions we have. Im so glad I found Dr. Fernando and recommend her to everyone I can.

My husband and I have been taking our 17 month old son to Dr. Fernando since he was born. We absolutely love the mission of Dr. Fernando and Yum Pediatrics. I actually had the opportunity to sit down with Dr. Fernando prior to giving birth, in order to interview her and her views on multiple aspects of pediatric care, from vaccinations to medications used. She explained her views in a clear manner and I found they were very much in alignment with my views as well. I appreciate her stance on vaccinations and convictions on vaccination. The staff at the office is fantastic, from reception to the nursing staff. I always feel that my son is well taken care of from each and every person we encounter at the office. I look forward to bringing my next child to her practice as well!

Dr. Fernando and her amazing team make each and every family feel like they are the most important people in the building. They are caring and focused in their personalized care. Their unique emphasis on fresh eating helps keep everyone healthy too. Being a Marine Corps family, we have experienced many pediatricians offices and I am so thankful we found Dr. Fernando. I wouldnt take my kids anyplace else.

My children love Dr. Yum!! Which is great, because my husband and I love her too. The staff is easy to work with. Appointments are hassle free. Dr. Fernando (aka Dr. Yum) really takes the time to listen to our concerns and works with us to come up with a plan of care for our children.
