I cant speak highly enough of Dr. Mellis. My 3 year old son had a very severe form of obstructive sleep apnea. He would completely stop breathing many times throughout the night and it was extremely scary as a mother. Dr. Mellis recommended a pediatric sleep study which confirmed the diagnosis. He performed the surgery to remove my sons tonsils and adenoids just a few weeks later. Throughout the whole thing Dr. Mellis was wonderful. Hes great with children...and nervous parents! His staff is great as well. Ms. Harris worked with the insurance company (which was no easy task) and took care of the scheduling with the hospital. I read the other review where the patient was upset that she had to wait. We also had to wait once for about 45 minutes or so. However, I had no problem waiting because I know Dr. Mellis provides each patient with the time and care that they need for their specific problem. We never felt rushed no matter how many questions we had. Making the decision to put my son through surgery was the hardest decision Ive ever had to make but every night when I watch him sleep without any more breathing problems I know I made the right decision. Thank you Dr. Mellis.

On a scale of 1 to 5, we rate Dr. Mellis at a 10! Our daughter broke her nose and we scheduled surgery to repair it. On the day of the surgery, we got her settled in and then Dr. Mellis came in for the presurgical exam (itd been a few days since she was first diagnosed). He looked at her nose and said "Guess what, this nose is going to heal up on its own. We dont need to do surgery. God bless you and pick up your refund on the way out." We have so much respect for this man. We cant recommend him highly enough.

Dr. Mellis was very friendly and office staff was as well. However, we had an 1 1/2 wait and it would have been really nice if someone would have informed us that there was a delay because there was an issue with another patient. I had to go up and ask them what was the hold up. Other than that is was ok.
