My experience at this office started out cautious as I do not enjoy going to the dentist. Unfortunately, although the front end and many of the young assistants are friendly, reassuring and listen to your concerns - the dentist (husband and wife team) do not and I will not be returning after the mess that I have been left with. Although the staff are cognizant of one of the Hygienists being rough in the way she handles patients, I tried to warn her to be more gentle during the cleaning procedure - but she ignored and brushed my remarks away, causing a loosening/sensitivity of a new cap that Dr. Slocum recently put on, along with rough patches on another molar that had been smooth as silk prior. In addition, Dr. Sara made a sad attempt to fill my front teeth, leaving areas short of filling (which made them sensitive, prone to gather food deposits) and the color match is more yellowed than the normal tooth color - they were made thick, and I couldnt shut my molars together to eat. She built up surrounding teeth so that to bite into anything, they dont match up with those below any longer. There was a dark/decayed area left and to floss, the dental tape catches, tears and creates pain from nerves left uncovered. Until I made complaints during the procedure, she had also over lapped the front two teeth - I couldnt believe what I was seeing, I was mortified and ready for tears! This is a professional? I attempted to follow up with Dr. Slocum at a later time, but this was uncomfortable due to their relationship and he only made excuses about her trying to save the teeth and doing her best on my account. I shared that she should have communicated with me during the procedure if there was going to be something other than what was earlier shared with me about choices in moving forward in my dental health - but was not given a choice and venturing forward her final results for my completed front four teeth, that show with every smile cause me to not show my smile to others, I am very self conscious of my teeth now and they bother me daily. Until I can afford to have them repaired "again" I hide my smile from the world - I guess this helps as I age to not have laugh lines, one positive I guess. I would not recommend anyone going to this facility for anything other than cleanings, unless you see Dr. Slocum for repair work - and be careful to request the hygienist with the softer touch - she is great! The other one does not listen and causes damage to your otherwise healthy teeth (maybe in this way the dentist also gets return business????). Hmmmm, I wonder? Even the front office staff are aware of this when I spoke with them, but it is kept a quiet in-house secret. How sad for those customers that walk in blindly, anxious and trusting.

Ive been a client at Penny Creek Family and Cosmetic Dentistry for over 8 years and have had nothing but excellent service and professionalism from all the Dr.s and staff. Ive had my share of dental work done here, from regular cleanings, a few crowns, and we have had both of our children here for their regular check ups and cleanings. What makes me want to spend 15 minutes to write a review of a dental office? Professionalism, high quality of service, and friendly, down to earth people that actually care about my teeth. My most recent experience was over Easter weekend, I had a crown done by Dr. Slocum in August. All was well until Easter weekend, when my tooth began to hurt, throbbing pain that even ibuprofen couldnt reduce the pain. I called Monday morning to see if I could get in to the office. Their office was on Spring Break. Oh no, what was I going to do? I called their emergency number, left a message explaining my situation, and had a callback within minutes from Kim. Kim was able to research my tooth, understand my situation, consult with Dr. Slocum, and schedule me a referral with Dr. Robison (Endodontist) for a root canal. In less than an hour, I had an appointment the next morning. I cant even explain how much that meant to me to not endure the pain of my toothache. Needless to say, Tuesday AM, I had a root canal and my pain was gone. This is the level of service I expect, especially in a situation like this. Kim assisted me all the way thru the process and was in contact with Dr. Slocum / Dr. Lundgaard the entire time. What I really like with both Dentists is their approach to patients. They are warm and welcoming, they care about their clients, and they take the time to get to know you. They EXPLAIN to you what they see, what treatment you will be undergoing, and then they tell you what to expect as they are with you. Excellent communication with their patients. Our hygienist Georgia should also be mentioned in this review. She is fun, very friendly, and again, she cares about your health, your teeth, your well being. Relaxed, down to earth, hard working. She definitely sets the bar for excellence in my book and Ive had a few hygienists in my 43 years of life. My wife and I love her. We actually look forward to seeing her for our cleanings. If your family needs a dentist, I would recommend Penny Creek Family Dentistry without any reservations whatsoever.

I could not be happier with Penny Creek Family Dentistry. They have taken care of my entire family, including tenderly taking care of my grandmother when she needed her dentures replaced. They made her feel at ease, and helped her get the best price and best smile with her new dentures. I would also not hesitate to send your children here. I decided to switch my twin five year old daughters to Penny Creek after having a less than positive experience with a local pediatric dentist and her office. Both Drs. Slocum and Lundgaard, as well as their staff, were incredibly patient, gentle and caring with my girls, who came out of the experience with little fear and looking forward to their next appointment. A welcome relief after our previous pediatric dental experiences. Penny Creek also had a very kind, warm and professional staff, and they do their best to take care of you quickly, thoroughly and with a tender touch. The dentists and staff work hard to take the fear, anxiety and worry out of dentistry, and at a price that is more affordable than many other dentists in our community. I have been going to Penny Creek Family & Cosmetic Dentistry for one year now and I will honestly say, I am very impressed with my cleanings and with my treatments with Dr. Slocum. I had gone to my previous dentist for years, even after I moved almost and hour away. The reason I stayed with that dentist was because of his receptionist, who I had come to know well and trust. When she left the practice, I decided to try to find a dentist closer to where I currently live. Dr. Slocum was recommended to me and I after my first appointment, I decided that he was my new dentist! The state of the art equipment, digital xrays, thorough cleanings, and the fact that Dr. Slocum identified a bone infection in one of my upper teeth within minutes of meeting him, are all reasons I will stay his patient. I have been continually impressed by him and the entire staff at Penny Creek Family Dentistry. Thank you for being so great at what you do for your patients!
