Okay, would like to start off by this: This place is far from perfect. I probably wouldnt recommend this place if you dont have a good insurance plan that can pay for the bulk of the sessions, but if you do have good insurance, then I would definitely recommend this as ONE of the places to see if its a good fit. Just because Front Street works for me doesnt mean itll work for you. But its definitely worth a try. I have gone to Dr. Vance Pryor, ARNP Kim Young-Oak, and LMHC Andrea Hickman. Dr. Vance Pryor is wonderful and really cares about your well-being. He has this incredibly calm demeanor, which helps my automatic trepidation around men. He knows when your issues just isnt his forte and he will think of someone who is a better match for you than he is, which is why I moved from him to Andrea. I am SO grateful for his suggestion. I still stand by Dr. Pryor being awesome -- this instance being an example of why -- and plan to go back to him someday to help with future, official diagnoses. I will admit that Kim Young-Oak has a personality that is hard to to get used to, especially if you have anxiety and depression. That is why I am not going to her and am planning not to unless my medication causes me problems (I am one of the lucky few whose medication worked for me right off the bat). I want to be fair though and say that Kim certainly cares that youre safe. She had reason to believe my safety was in question and went to Andrea to make sure I wasnt getting hurt and to encourage me to seek intervention if I were. Now, Andrea. I am grateful for her existence and there are no words to explain just how grateful I am. She is incredibly busy and works part-time because she needs the off-time to take care of her family, which causes time slots to be an issue. Im flexible with times, so our sessions together start 5-10minutes late. Im telling this to highlight how hard it is to find open sessions with her. Shes a pro at managing crises whenever it arises and whatever form the said crisis will take. Shes open-minded about the kind of treatment you want and how you want to spend those sessions. Its like talking to a friend with whom you dont have to hide anything and dont have to worry about treating you differently. So long as you are willing to meet her half-way and work hard at trying to feel better, she will do what she can to help you. In summary, this place worked for me and the people here helped me during a rather dark time. Like I said, this place isnt perfect and there were times I wanted to quit, but I kept going and I will keep going. If you read until the end of this review, thank you! :)

Everyones reality is their own perception of a situation. You may choose to weigh the comments here and not find out for yourself, but for those of us who have received help from Front Street Clinic it isnt about the cost but the results. I have had both bad and good results from their clinic. Two of my daughters have been patients and now my husband. When my find them she was finally listened to. Dr. Kim worked through her difficulties with anxiety etc. and finally found a medication that is helping her feel alive and more importantly, human again. She has a long way to go, but says that finding a good therapist and the right medication has changed her entire life. My younger daughter is experiencing the same mental health concerns and she is now, along with her father working with Dr. Kim to manage their anxieties (yes, it can be genetic people and often is). Now, in 2013 my younger daughter saw one of their counselors due to issues with her biological mother... that was a horrible experience for her. She was under 13 at the time and her mother became good friends with the counselor (her biological mother is a nurse and talked the lingo and played a vary "loving mother role" while in session). Our daughter had several private sessions with the counselor and asked for her mother not to be told what she was revealing and the counselor broke that confidentiality based on her being under 13. The issue was, it was court ordered sessions and what should have been shared equally with both parents was not. We found out later the counselor had been feeding information to her bio-mother via email and not to my husband. Things were coming up in court we had no idea about. So why did we go back after that experience?? Easy, every doctor is different and the lack of propriety of the one doctor should not ruin the reputation of everyone in the office. We gave them a second try and we are glad we did. No doctor is perfect. They are not gods, they are humans. They make errors in judgement.

Im pretty baffled by the melodrama that Im seeing from previous reviewers. Ive been coming here now for almost two years, and Ive had nothing but a great experience with Kim Young-Oaks. Unlike most psychiatrists, she actually takes the time to really listen to you. Its beyond evident that she genuinely cares. And shes never once asked me what medication she prescribed in the past, thats what her file is for. As far as the cost goes, Its considerably cheaper than the other clinics Ive shopped. Kim has also given me free samples of meds because she knows that Im on a tight budget. So the bullshit about her just wanting to make money is totally absurd. If that were the case, she wouldnt spend as long as she does with me every time I come. For the genius who was upset about being prescribed six different medications -- trial and error is the whole point of psychiatry. What did you think was supposed to happen? It takes time to find what works for you. How is this not patently obvious? If you want someone to tell you that theres a magic pill to cure you, go see a naturopath -- theyll be happy to tell you what you want to hear (while pouring a gallon of essential oils down your throat). Anyway, I can honestly say that my life took a turn for the better once I started coming to Front Street Clinic. I definitely recommend it to any sensible person who understands the tricky nature of mental health. For those of you who expect to be cured on your first visit, it would appear that your delusions are far worse than you probably think. You should see somebody for that.

I went here for a little over a year. I thought this place was great at first.... I was very wrong. Please DO NOT be fooled by the "professional" look and feel of the office!! You know theres a problem when youre taking 6 pills at once just for bipolar disorder. Kim Young Oak, ARNP kept giving me more and more pills to counteract the side effects of them! Sometimes even 2 to counteract one pills side effects! And more then enough times she would ask me what pills im taking, what dosage, and if shes given [insert name] to me before. SHE is supposed to know what she is prescribing me! SHE is supposed to be the doctor. She eventually referred me to Dr. Pryor in that office for a test of some sort. I saw him ONCE for about 30 minutes. Then went back to Kim. Its like she didnt know what to do with me. Very unprofessional. The whole thing was just a huge mistake! And this place is VERY overpriced... I havent been there since April 2014, and i just now got a "FINAL NOTICE" bill for the one visit to Dr. Pryor for 281.00! I called them because i have never gotten any previous bills from them concerning this appointment. And they said that they dont know why i just now got it now and that it was sent to collections in October of 2015. I am very unhappy with this place. Save yourself from wasted time and money and feeling like a guinea pig. Find somewhere else to go! (Karen Casseday ARNP is wonderful! Very very professional and knows what shes doing. Doesnt want to shove pills down your throat. Just wants to help, not suck your money away.)
