In defense of the staff of Dr. Robert Jones. Sometimes we have to say no to patients, because we are booked. The amount of pediatric and internal medicine doctors in Jefferson County is not sufficient to accomodate the population of the county. Our primary concern is to our current patients, we have a limited number of new patient slots per week, therefore, getting a new patient appointment does require a waiting period, this is true of most of the physcians of the county. Established patients can usually get an appointment within 1 to 2 weeks, have you tried making an appointment with a Winchester Doctor lately, 2 to 3 months for a routine appt. Sick appointments are made in 24 to 48 hours. Our practice has rules, they are put there to try and keep the office running smoothly. Also remember we are people too, and sometimes we have bad days too. As for getting to see Dr. Jones, if you want to see him you have to request for an appointment, he is very busy, that is why we have a PA, not a nurse, who sees patients, this is to help us be able to more patients. Also remember we service many patients, so there may be times when you do have to wait on hold till the prior patient is taken care of. I hope this will clear up some of the mis-conceptions given by people. Thank you. Vicki Ott, Office Manager

Dr. Jones is a wonderful doctor. He is very good at what he does and makes you feel like a good friend. He has always taken care of me and my family. However, their is an elder lady receptionist who is quite the opposite. In fact, I just recently got off the phone with her as she denied to be of any service to me. She seems more interested in being able to give you the answer "no" to questions/requests before she tries to help in any way. (That is if she has the time to deny you, as often times you will be put on hold) Once again, Dr. Jones is a great person, but the receptionist: not so much.
