Cameron Miller

As a former employee I can tell you that you do not want to take your pets to this establishment. The doctor prescribes expired drugs all the time. He treats his employees worse than children. Speaking of children, he lets his grandson roam the place while we have office hours and makes the employees watch him. The doctor does everything he can to save a penny. He never gives his employees a raise. He is constantly hounding his employees about small thing while never giving them credit for stuff they do, He is a piece of crap. He comes off as a nice guy but all he cares about is every little penny he can make for himself. He does not care for his employees or clients. He is getting reported to every bureau I can possibly call. Hes a really deplorable human being.

Its interesting what a disgruntled, fired employee has to say about our practice. As a current employee, in my opinion Cameron was able to work longer than the average employee with his attitude, with constant texting, hiding from work and never seeming to pick up the techniques taught to him. In my opinion the grandson he mentioned seemed to like everyone except him. I would think if anybody needed babysitting it was Cameron. My personal experience was he was very harassing including towards me. I couldnt ask for a better job or boss. I love working for Academy it never seems like work, its a great atmosphere and the employees are wonderful to work with. Personally I would give Cameron -5 stars.

My dog had cancer and we made the awful decision to put her down. They told us we would be able to hold her the whole time. She was 18 years old so she was as much a part of the family as one could ever be. We went in and sat down they told us they were just going to take her out of the room to give her the sedative and then would bring her back to us to stay with her until she passed. I didnt want to let her out of my sight but the Vet Tech was so nice I trusted him. When they came back out they handed me my dead baby in a card board box! They lied to us and then gave her to me in a cardboard box! I was furious. I do not recommend this place at all.

I have been using Academy Animal Hospital for a few years now. I live in Amma WV and I think it is wroth the drive to St. Albans to take my animals there. I have to pass a Vet Clinic that is only 15/20 minute from my home but have been happier with Academy than anywhere else. The pricies are great and the care is greater! The care my pets receive is more important to me than anything else.

Breaker Er

Had a few bad experiences here. Once even a life and death emergency and ALL the vets had stepped out on a business day at the same time. Also know other people with bad experiences with them. They overcharge and just seem to feign interest in your pet if any at all. Oh and btw, that life and death emergency resulted in death while driving to another vet. Dont go here, ever.

I have brought several cats here for various reasons and every experience is wonderful. The entire staff is so very nice and understanding. And they are very good at what they do. And they even go as far as to ask about the pet they have treated in the recent past.

Love the staff here! They always take such great care of our rambunctious hound! Leroy is always out if the car and at the door to go in before we are, haha. Safe to say, going to the vets office doesnt stress our boy out.
