I see that THEY have removed all the not so good and the really bad reviews, but left the stellar ones, huh? My story and his picture were setting records for the amount of views, over 3000 so, they re-did their entire web page, plus there were so many who said the same thing-- "ALL THIS PLACE CARES ABOUT IS THE MONEY!" and it is true. Their neglect and the "we dont really care, unless you have the dollars" ways of doing business are the reason we no longer have our best friend, well, that and the fact that my son did not have (enough) of dollars on him ... 2 days before Christmas, while expecting his first child... they refused him service. They did say that if he would sign his best friend over to them, they could help, since he didnt have the money... my son refused to "sign" him over to them. They did take $150 that he did have and wrapped his leg. Not quite two days later, my son rushed him back to the good ol doctor and signed his friend over, to save his life... BUT TOO LATE, he died on the table, during surgery. He was much too weak, not to mention his internal injuries, but we did not know this because they refused to do anything the first time! If only they would have taken an x-ray, our beloved Sampson would still be here. My grandchildren are still heartbroken, as we all are. It still hurts. Just take a look across their parking lot... what do you see-- $$$ signs! IT IS ALL about the money, and I think it pretty crappy they put money over saving our dog, and many, many others. So, I am sending some bad MoJo their way, and it will last for 2 years. That is how long we had Sampson, mostly thanks to this place. Maybe youve heard of some of my ancestors... Rebecca T. Nurse, Sarah T., etc., etc.-- 1690s, Salem? You should meet my aunts! Think I am kidding? Here it ... ------------>You could have maybe tried to reach out to us? LOL LOL Bo Towne 2/25/17 update - Well, we just brought a new family member home... another G.S. pup, not a replacement but a fill for the void in our hearts caused by YOU @ Animal Hospital of Boone! F.U. all! AND YOU CAN BET YOUR ASS WE WILL NEVER EVER BRING HIM TO THIS PLACE! We cannot AFFORD this place, both ways!

My first experience with this entire group was simply amazing. I am new to the area with no family or friends or established Vet. . My furbaby of almost 11 years was hit by a car and died instantly. I called around locally here in Wilkesboro, and everyone was so cold and rude on the phone. I Took a chance and reached out to AHP. Immediately I was comforted and felt like I was speaking to someone who understood the pain I was in. Arrangements were made and I dropped her off early one sunny morning before work. It was a long drive to Boone that morning with Clare beside me in the front seat. I entered the building and was immediately greeted by staff showing nothing but true and sincere compassion and I started to cry. So did they. As I handed over my precious cargo, I felt in my heart I had chosen the right place. It felt like family. During the weeks it took to muster the courage to pickup her remains, I was blessed to find a wonderful new 8 week old addition to my household. So the day I picked up the ashes, I also had my new puppy, Darla initiated with her first round of shots. Clares remains were so sweetly packaged with her name engraved on the box and the way the entire staff handled themselves with my new addition, I was assured, once again, this was the place I was meant to find. It is obvious the entire staff love what they do, have full hearts of compassion and handle themselves in a professional and loving manner toward all who enter their doors. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Animal Hospital of Boone for any pet care needs you have from beginning to end. THEY ARE THE BEST. Sincerely, Troy Stanley.

If you are looking for a new vet, look elsewhere. They were our family vet for over 13 years for all of our dogs and cats, never again will they be allowed to treat our animals. Our 13 yr old dog, who was a patient of this hospital since he was a pup, was dying of cancer was in agonizing pain. Early one AM, after being up with him all night, we called their office as soon as they opened to see if they could work us in. This vet had seen him numerous times in previous weeks and months, and was aware of his terminal condition. Even after we explained that this was an end of life situation, and that the dog was in severe pain, we were told the earliest we could get in to euthanize was 4:30pm. It is unacceptable to let an animal suffer for many hours, so we called the emergency vet across the street, he got us right in (and charges less even though this was emergency visit) While the staff here is friendly and have treated us well over the years, they apparently arent allowed to think of a suffering, dying pet as a priority as they wanted us to wait another 8-1/2 hours after they opened to euthanize. They will gladly take your money for routine visits and checkups, but will clearly not put your animals needs first when their services are truly needed. Every time I drive by their office or think of our beloved pets final days, I am angered that this vet, or any vet, would think it was acceptable to allow an animal to suffer for so long.

I have had wonderful experiences with the doctors and staff at the Animal Hospital of Boone. My pug, Niki, has been coming here since she was a pup. This past spring she turned 14 and was not in good health anymore. I knew at some point I would have to make the call for her and be her best friend in the end. It was one of the hardest and gut wrenching decisions I have ever made. When I woke up on April 11 I asked my husband to call the staff and let them know we needed to come in. I knew if I called i would just break down on the phone. They scheduled us within an hour. When we walked in with Niki the whole staff was very compassionate. I was able to hold Niki and pet her during her final moments. At the end they put Niki in an Angel bag so I could bring her home and bury her. There was no charge for my visit that day and I am grateful for the compassion the doctor and staff showed me that day. Thank you. When I am ready for another dog I will bring her to all of you.

For the most part, our experiences at Animal Hospital of Boone have been good. They successfully removed several indigestible pieces of plastic toys from one of our dogs stomach. However, we noticed some pus on her side a couple days later. I brought her back in, and we discovered she had a nasty burn on her side. One of the vets, Dr. Johnson I believe, admitted it could have been caused by the heating pads they put animals on after surgery. She comped the antibiotics and the visit, which I appreciated, but our dog has been left with a large scar. My girlfriend and I have racked our brains trying to figure out what could have caused the burn besides the heating pad. We have not been able to think of anything remotely plausible. If you need surgery performed on your animals, I have little doubt that it will be performed correctly at Animal Hospital of Boone, but I would caution you to ask about the use of heating pads and potentially request that they do not use one at all.
